Abstract. The purpose of this study is twofold: 1) to develop a service-learning-based module training artificial intelligence (AI) subject (SLBM-TAIS), and 2) to evaluate the effect of SLBM-TAIS on pre-service teachers’ (PSTs’) practical knowledge and motivation, as well as primary school students' attitude towards AI in China. Participants of this study comprised 60 PSTs and 107 primary school students. The experimental research in this study followed the quasi-experimental non-randomized pre-test and post-test control group design. The PSTs were divided into experimental and control groups, and the primary school students followed the same grouping. The PSTs in the experimental group taught AI subjects to the primary school students in the experimental group, while the PSTs in the control group taught AI subjects to the primary school students in the control group. The results of the study showed that SLBM-TAIS was effective in training PSTs to teach AI subjects to primary school students. Furthermore, the SLBM-TAIS developed in this study offered a unique technique for training PSTs and primary school students that could increase PSTs' practical knowledge and motivation, as well as primary school students' attitudes toward AI. The findings from this study are important in the field of educational psychology, and its contribution has several theoretical and practical implications.   Keywords: Attitude; artificial intelligence; pre-service teachers; primary school students; practical knowledge; motivation

Purpose of the study: This study aims to explore the cognitive structures and identify the misconceptions experienced by secondary school students in the respiration topic. Methodology: This study is a qualitative study. The instruments used for data collection were the Word Association Test (WAT) and the Questionnaire of Writing Sentence (QWS). The data obtained were in word form. The breakpoint technique was used to analyze the data for WAT while the data for QWS were analyzed by category. Purposive sampling was applied in this study. A total of 23 forms four students comprising 12 boys and 11 girls participated in this study. Main Findings: The result showed that the students’ cognitive structures in the respiration topic were incomplete. The students were unable to form a comprehensive relationship for the given keywords, and there were also weak or incorrect associations. The misconceptions that had been identified are largely related to the keywords about cell respiration, anaerobic respiration, and breathing mechanism. Applications of this study: This study provides insights into the students’ cognitive structures and misconceptions about respiration. Thus, it will be useful for teachers in planning their teaching strategies so that they can improve the students’ cognitive structures as well as avoid misconceptions. Novelty: Most of the previous studies only focused on the identification of misconceptions without further investigation into the students’ cognitive structures, especially on the respiration topic. Thus, this study investigates the cognitive structures and misconceptions specifically among secondary school students who have learned respiration in biology.

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to research the effect of problem based learning on students' understanding of the rights and obligations of primary school students as citizenship. The type of the research was experimental research with pretest-posttest control group research design. Results of testing the hypothesis that t value obtained is equal to 5.216 and a significance value of 0.000. Thus the t value obtained is greater than t table (5.216> 2.408), while the significance value is smaller than the value of α (0.000 <0.05). Based on these results, the hypothesis is accepted, meaning that a significant difference between problem-based learning, the students' understanding of the rights and obligations of primary school students as citizenship. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Students Understanding, the Rights and Duties of Students. ABSTRAK                                                                                          Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap pemahaman siswa mengenai hak dan kewajiban siswa sekolah dasar sebagai warga negara. The purpose of this study was to determine the state of secondary school students’ cognitive structures about argument and related concepts and to reveal the change in their cognitive structures regarding these concepts after the implementation of the argumentation-oriented approach in science lessons. This study was conducted in Grade 6, 7, 8 classes, including a total of 80 students. This study follows a pre-experimental one group pretest–posttest design. Students were administered a word association test (WAT) covering argument and related concepts prior to and following the lessons. The results obtained from the WAT show that the students’ cognitive structures progressed from the pretest to posttest, with an increase in the number of response words and connections between words, and with a change in the nature of these connections. As a result of teaching science lessons through argumentation, it was detected that cognitive structures of students regarding argument and related concepts indicated changes in the right way.

Understanding students' cognitive structures in a specific knowledge domain helps to determine the “what, how and why” features of such knowledge, so that we can take these structures into consideration in teaching. The purpose of the present study was to identify students' cognitive structures about solution and dissolution concepts. The study utilized mixed methods within a non-experimental descriptive design. The data source for this study consisted of 157 11th grade students' written accounts of solution chemistryviaa Word Association Test (WAT). A response frequency mapping method was used to identify the students' cognitive structures. To determine the nature of students' cognitive structures, sentences were analyzed in terms of misconceptions, lacking understanding, and vague understanding. Overall the study shows a very diverse picture in cognitive structures existing among the students, including many poorly-developed concepts. Implications for teaching are given.
