This article will show the development of the Norwegian school subject Art and Crafts from its beginning to what can be labeled the New Reconstructionist Stream seen today. It sums up the essence of the practice tradition and debate throughout the subject’s 120 years of history as a school subject in Norwegian general education (1st through 10th year). It addresses several theoretical approaches to describe the history of the subject, and compares these to the practice traditions as seen in original sources. It will trace how the strong practice tradition can be seen as one of the main reasons why the Norwegian Art and Crafts school subject show a new purpose for the content, a purpose that highlight democratic design and citizenship by introducing a global sustainable perspective in general education.

In this paper I will take a look at how one can facilitate the change in consumption through social innovation, based on the subject of art and design in Norwegian general education. This paper will give a presentation of books, featured relevant articles and formal documents put into context to identify different causal mechanisms around our consumption. The discussion will be anchored around the resources and condition that must be provided to achieve and identify opportunities for action under the subject of Art and craft, a subject in Norwegian general education with designing at the core of the subject, ages 6–16. The question that this paper points toward is: "How can we, based on the subject of Art and craft in primary schools, facilitate the change in consumption through social innovation?”

Researching cultural diversity is a central subject of social anthropology. 25 authors from institutes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland offer an insight into the subject, its contents and theoretical perspectives. This article is devoted to the contemporary historiography of higher school for energetics in USSR and the Russian federation. The subject of this research is comprised of formation of modern scientific perceptions on emergence and development of Russian system of training energy personnel. The object of this research is the body of 1990s-2000s publications of historic and multidisciplinary profile on the contemporary history of higher energy education and university energetics in Russia. The goal of this research is to determine the main problematic vectors and theoretical approaches forming in the process of scientific research of this topic, as well as understanding of the results and further prospects of its development. The novelty of this research consists in determining, systematizing and analyzing the content of the body of historiographical sources on history of Russian energetics and education during XX and XXI centuries. The authors conclude that within the framework of this historiographical branch, there is a current scientific base that allows transitioning to a new level of discovery and theoretical generalization of materials. It seems relevant to transition from “milestone stories” of universities and departments to study of the role of higher education and academic science in the process of implementation of state energy policy in Russia, as well as development of international energy dialogue.

The photosynthetic carbon reduction cycle, or Calvin–Benson–Bassham (CBB) cycle, is now contained in every standard biochemistry textbook. Although the cycle was already proposed in 1954, it is still the subject of intense research, and even the structure of the cycle, i.e. the exact series of reactions, is still under debate. The controversy about the cycle's structure was fuelled by the findings of Gibbs and Kandler in 1956 and 1957, when they observed that radioactive 14CO2 was dynamically incorporated in hexoses in a very atypical and asymmetrical way, a phenomenon later termed the ‘photosynthetic Gibbs effect’. Now, it is widely accepted that the photosynthetic Gibbs effect is not in contradiction to the reaction scheme proposed by CBB, but the arguments given have been largely qualitative and hand-waving. To fully appreciate the controversy and to understand the difficulties in interpreting the Gibbs effect, it is illustrative to illuminate the history of the discovery of the CBB cycle. We here give an account of central scientific advances and discoveries, which were essential prerequisites for the elucidation of the cycle. Placing the historic discoveries in the context of the modern textbook pathway scheme illustrates the complexity of the cycle and demonstrates why especially dynamic labelling experiments are far from easy to interpret. We conclude by arguing that it requires sound theoretical approaches to resolve conflicting interpretations and to provide consistent quantitative explanations.

The subject of the research is the study of scientific researches of personalities, biographies and creative way of outstanding domestic scientists, scholars of Byzantium in the second half of the 19th – first half of the 20th century, who be-came the founders of Byzantine studies. Research methods. A system of theoretical and empirical research methods was used to study the specific purpose of scientific research and solving problems, namely: historical and pedagogical analysis and syn-thesis, definition of the purpose, subject and tasks, exploration, synthesis of abstrac-tion, comparison, generalization and analogy to clarify the peculiarities of the devel-opment of theoretical approaches underlying the renewal and expansion of the study of Byzantinists and their research on the specified topic; analysis of sources, as well as research materials with the subsequent synthesis of its results into a holistic system of views on this problem; personalistic and biographical method – for the analysis of historical, biographical, reference and encyclopedic literature devoted to historical and pedagogical personalities. The aim of the study is to present to modern historians and all those interested in studying the history of Byzantium, both in Ukraine and abroad, the names of prominent historians of the past and objectively evaluate their work and scientific results in terms of modern international scientific views and approaches. Conclusion. Personalized study of life and scientific and pedagogical heritage of professors and academics of Byzantine studies V. G. Vasilievsky, O. O. Vasiliev, V. E. Regel, Y. A. Kulakovsky, F. I. Uspensky, A. G. Gotalov-Gottlieb gave the opportunity to reveal their fundamental role in the development of domestic Byzantine studies, the establishment of their own scientific schools and areas in scientific and pedagogical activities, created scientific and educational literature on Byzantine history, medieval history and culture, national foreign research institutes, scientific societies, associations and more. The scholars in their monographs and textbooks gave a personal vision of the problem and an interpretation of the expediency and importance of studying the history and culture of Byzantium and the Middle Ages in general. V. G. Vasilievsky, O. O. Vasiliev, V. E. Regel, Y. A. Kulakovsky, F. I. Uspensky, A. G. Gotalova-Gotliba laid the foundation of the national scientific championship. Their names and works are our scientific pride "forgotten", "shot", destroyed or simply unknown today to the general public of modern scientists in Ukraine and abroad. Further research of publications and use of their works and textbooks could become a valuable source for modern researchers of Byzantine history, as well as a discovery and subject for acquaintance for modern foreign researchers.


the importance of secondary education has been becoming more crucial than ever. Developing countries always pay great deals of attention to this in order to strengthen the quality form the very beginning of the early ages of nation. This article explains the issues of supplying general education schools in Uzbekistan's southern provinces during the years of independence, lack of teachers on the subject, problems of improving pedagogical cadres and ways to overcome them.

Formation of an educational weekend program popularizing the foundations of mineralogy, botany and local history of the area, developed for primary and secondary school students is considered. The program development and implementation was carrying out for the Pushchino Museum of Ecology and Local Lore in 2018-2019. Possibilities of initial acquaintance with the world of plants and minerals within the framework of the museum exposition in combination with both excursion and independent activity on the ecological path of the city and in the Green Zone are shown. A thematic selection of classical popular scientific literature has been made to develop further keen interest in the subject. The program of acquaintance with the area was tested on the groups of the Tatiana school in Moscow, students of summer camps from general education schools and students of the ecological circle “Living River” in Pushchino town.

Virgin birth controversy enjoys a privileged status in the history of anthropology and reflects the exceptional interest anthropology takes in “biological facts” of human procreation. In the widest sense, this controversy centers around procreative beliefs, or more precisely, the “discovery” of people who were considered to be ignorant of the facts of physiological paternity and the causal relationship between copulation and pregnancy (in humans). This paper offers an overview of the main theoretical approaches and an insight into the variety of empirical findings presented by the numerous participants in the virgin birth debate. It especially focuses on a critical assessment of the provided argumentation on the subject of procreative ignorance, as well as the matter of interpretation of ethnographical facts and an analysis of the meaning of “biological facts” from a cross-cultural perspective.

Reading has emerged as one of the fundamental pillars of education in recent years, gaining a notorious relevance in consideration with other materials. Thus, the reading habit or reading skills are two of the most studied in recent decades and its social projection elements inevitably passes through the general education laws.In the present study, a comparative analysis of all the laws that emerged in Spain in the era of democracy, a spectrum that occupies nearly fifty years of history of the country, intending to trace how it is treated is made the subject of reading, reading habits and reading skills from the legal basis of education.For this purpose, a thorough search of the most important to narrow that field and tracking the results in terms of appointments to the chosen terms are analyzed keywords is performed. The findings are compelling because, for example, the keyword "read" not even once appear in any of the texts consulted, nor the term "reading literacy" that although it is morerecent, and it was used from the 2000, so that from 2002 to LOCE (although not enter into force because it was not his approach and results evaluated) and the following laws could have been raised. Perhaps if the legal basis from which the rights and duties of society are consolidated argument fails on the field of reading is normal, systematically, the Spanish students rate below average in international tests PISA and PIRLS.
