The need to use “covers” has arisen in order to preserve and protect written works. The protective cover made to keep the leaves of a magazine or book together without falling apart and without breaking their order is called a binding. Books, which are at the forefront of Turkish cultural heritage, have a special place among movable cultural properties. These resources, which form a bridge between the past and the future, are preserved in various museums, libraries and collections in order to carry them to future generations. Yusuf Aga Manuscript Library is one of the places where these resources are preserved. Descriptive method was used in this study. It is aimed to introduce the seven bindings in the Yusuf Ağa Manuscript Library in detail, with the material, construction technique, decoration features, colors used, and then to determine the connections of the book cover with similar examples and to reveal its position in the bookbinding art and its development process scientifically. In addition, information on the qualitative characteristics of the manuscripts in question, such as the scope, the periods they belong to, and the names of the works, has been arranged on the basis of the data in the inventory. Keeping the art of binding alive and establishing a connection between generations is very important in terms of Turkish culture, history, art and decoration. The assessment of cultural significance is important to the processes involved in the determination of building preservation policies. The cultural significance is mostly invisible or intangible in a cultural heritage building and contained in the form of value or meaning which are sometimes misinterpreted and this means it is possible to judge a building as worthy or unworthy to be preserved for the interests of the past, present, and future through the evaluation its importance. Moreover, some important elements are usually contained in a cultural heritage building which can be excavated through their cultural significance. This research was, therefore, conducted to determine the cultural significance of residential buildings in the Jatiroto Sugar Factory area complex at Lumajang Regency, East Java to be used in formulating policies required to preserve the structures as a cultural heritage for the benefit of future generations. This involved the use of the descriptive method to describe the situation in the field while the weighted evaluative method was applied to evaluate the cultural significance value of the building and its elements. The results were used as the criteria to determine the cultural significance of the official house of the Jatiroto Sugar Factory which can be applied as the reference to formulate the cultural significance criteria for similar cultural heritage buildings in other locations.

This study aims to reveal the representation, relations, and identity of the Maritime Laws using a critical ecolinguistic approach. This linguistic phenomenon is a treasure trove of Malay intellectual property in the past. This type of research is literature research with a qualitative descriptive method. The data was collected by using the method of observing free and speaking with observation and note-taking techniques. The data analysis used the mix and match methods, especially referential equivalents, translational equivalents, and pragmatic equivalents. The results of data analysis were explained using informal methods. The data used is written data from the Malay Maritime Laws. The results have shown that the contents of the text of the Malay Maritime Laws are related to the duties and obligations of seafarers who sail. Ecolexicons, phrases, and sentences related to marine and shipping existed at that time. This fact occurs because the sea has been the lifeblood of the Malay people for centuries and will continue to be passed on to future generations.

Advancement of the Swiss Forest Policy 2020 from stakeholders' perspectives In light of the ending of the Swiss “ Forest Policy 2020”, this article assesses the goals, challenges and concerns of Swiss forest stakeholders in relation to forest policy post 2020. The data were collected through expert interviews and an online survey. The results show that securing an economically sustainable forest management and economically viable silvicultural businesses are key concerns for many stakeholders. Apart from these issues, several further and sometimes conflicting interests were mentioned. The study concludes that a debate on an adjustment of the weights given to goals in the Swiss Forest Policy 2020 may be commendable. However, there does not appear to be need for a complete change of course in order to address the stakeholders' needs and concerns. In terms of policy process, most stakeholders positively evaluated the past planning and development process of the Swiss Forest Policy 2020, but also provided suggestions for improvements. Finally, a network analysis revealed that the Swiss Federal Agency for the Environment, the Swiss Forest Owners Association and the Conference of Cantonal Foresters played a central role in the amendment of the Swiss Federal Forest Act. The analysis also showed that more stakeholders find each other as important than actually work together in a legislative process.

Today, it is evident that we are part of a planetary trust. Conserving our planet represents a public good, global as well as local. The threats to future generations resulting from human activities make applying the normative framework of a planetary trust even more urgent than in the past decades. Initially, the planetary trust focused primarily on threats to the natural system of our human environment such as pollution and natural resource degradation, and on threats to cultural heritage. Now, we face a higher threat of nuclear war, cyber wars, and threats from gene drivers that can cause inheritable changes to genes, potential threats from other new technologies such as artificial intelligence, and possible pandemics. In this context, it is proposed that in the kaleidoscopic world, we must engage all the actors to cooperate with the shared goal of caring for and maintaining planet Earth in trust for present and future generations.

This special issue marks the tenth anniversary of the LOPSTR workshop. LOPSTR started in 1991 as a workshop on Logic Program Synthesis and Transformation, but later it broadened its scope to logic-based Program Development in general.The motivating force behind LOPSTR has been a belief that declarative paradigms such as logic programming are better suited to program development tasks than traditional non-declarative ones such as the imperative paradigm. Specification, synthesis, transformation or specialisation, analysis, verification and debugging can all be given logical foundations, thus providing a unifying framework for the whole development process.In the past ten years or so, such a theoretical framework has indeed begun to emerge. Even tools have been implemented for analysis, verification and specialisation. However, it is fair to say that so far the focus has largely been on programming-in-the-small. So the future challenge is to apply or extend these techniques to programming-in-the-large, in order to tackle software engineering in the real world.

Marsupials were regarded as curiosities by their early European discoverers, animals to be wondered at. Monotremes were even more surprising; the platypus was such an amalgam of characters that it was thought to be a hoax. They were recognized very early as mammals that could make a major contribution to our understanding of reproductive processes, and work on marsupials at the turn of the century was much in evidence. It is, however, only in the past two decades, and especially in the past few years that marsupial research has regained this position. There is no doubt that future research will strengthen this contribution, but we are faced with serious conservation questions that must be solved if we are to maintain these wonderful animals as a resource for future generations.

Over the past year the world has changed dramatically. With greater restrictions on accessibility, the need to provide innovative and distributable remote experiences is now more prominent than ever. BMT has partnered with the SS Freshspring Trust to create multi-generational STEM experiences. “Preserving the past to inspire knowledge for the future”. The SS Freshspring Trust have a vision to become a STEM hub by utilising cutting-edge technology. BMT have extensive experience in developing VR applications in the Maritime Domain. With skills shortfalls in many engineering disciplines, there is a need to inspire future generations into careers in STEM. Equally, many adults have a passion for technology and have valuable skills to offer to STEM projects. This paper uses the historic vessel SS Freshspring, a 1940s RFA Fresh Water Carrier currently being restored in North Devon, as the basis for exploring a range of initiatives and activities aimed at making engineering and technology interesting and accessible to all. The specific focus is on the development of an interactive 3D virtual tour, aiming to provide access to a wide audience by targeting a range of modalities including smartphones, internet browsers, and most consumer VR headsets.

В работе исследуется процесс разработки компьютеров за последние десятилетия с целью определения наиболее влияющих на него факторов. Описываются сами факторы, которые используются для предсказания направления будущих разработок. Для решения этой задачи применяется концепция Вычислительной Способности, которая позволяет оценить производительность компьютеров теоретически, опираясь исключительно на описание их архитектуры. In this article we are investigating the computers development process in the past decades in order to identify the factors that influence it the most. We describe such factors and use them to predict the direction of further development. To solve these problems, we use the concept of the Computer Capacity, which allows us to estimate the performance of computers theoretically, relying only on the description of its architecture.
