SOCIALIZATION AND EDUCATION ON THE UTILIZATION OF BANANA SKIN WASTE AS ANTIOXIDANT-RICH NATURAL FACE MASKS IN MARPOYAN DAMAI DISTRICT, PEKANBARU. The fact at this time is the increasing level of consumer consumption of beauty products. It does not only occur among adult women but also teenager. But the consumptive level not accompanied by purchasing power of quality products. Based on interviews with residents of the village of East Sidomulyo, most of the citizens are among adult women and teenagers that they mostly use ready-made masks that are sold in the market because it is more practical and faster in the process of use without considering the possibility of its contents which are harmful to skin health. The problem of the partners is to encourage service in the form of socialization and education to the local community to be able to take advantage of the banana peel waste that is widely available in the environment because it is now became popular a variety of processed banana products, but in terms of waste has not been utilized at all. This education is based on several studies that banana peels contain high antioxidants so it is very good if it can be processed as a mask for a facial skin care. In addition, the utilization of waste will be able to reduce pollution that might occur in the environment due to banana peels that are not treated. The existence of this activity was very welcomed by residents, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of residents asking questions regarding the problems presented and the impression of some residents who want this activity to be carried out continuously, so that more people feel the benefits and they are very enthusiastic to directly apply the knowledge.

Generally, facial skin care materials are considered difficult because students are required to be able to remember the steps of facial skin care treatment, therefore, it is important to using instructional models that can help to improve the ability of students in receiving instructional materials. This study aims to determine the effect of instructional model Quantum Teaching on the Basic Skin Care subject as a basic competence of X class Tata Kecantikan SMK Negeri 1 Beringin. This research was conducted by pre experiment methods. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Beringin in February 2015. The descriptive result of 31 students’ tendency of facial skin care study before being given the application of a quantum teaching (X) model included sufficient category and facial skin care learning after applying Quantum Teaching (Y) including high category. The results obtained showed that there is a significant effect between the results of facial skin care study after being given the application of Quantum Teaching models in students of SMK Negeri 1 Beringin.   References Abdurrahman. Glutathione is a potent antioxidant, which is widely used in skin care products for skin lightening especially in the Asian market. Presently, there was only one study of topical 2% oxidized glutathione (GSSG) in Philipino women, further study is needed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of cosmetic products containing glutathione. A double blind randomized clinical trial study was conducted in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in 74 healthy Indonesian women, with average age 33.3 ± 5.9 years when subjects participated in the study. Each subject received supervised applications of Facial Wash twice a day, Day Cream with sunscreen and Night Cream. The subjects were divided into 3 groups based on the active ingredients of the tested products, which included glutathione reduced (GSH) 0.1%, GSH 0.5%, and without GSH. The effects of the tested products in lightening skin color and pigmentation were measured colorimetry with Chromameter Minolta for L*. Compared to a baseline, there were significant increases of L* (lightness) or ΔL* detected as early as week 2 in which group of GSH 0.1% were significantly higher compared to group of GSH 0.5% and group without GSH. Hyperpigmented lesions also improved, where GSH 0.5% group showed its superiority compared to others groups in week 8. The undesired effect were few minutes mild tingling sensation after night cream, and worsening of acne in all tested products. Conclusion skin care products containing GSH 0.1% and 0.5% were effective in facial skin lightening.

Abstract Background Facial skin care (FSC) is an important routine for Japanese women. Hand motions during FSC physically affect psychological state. However, it is very difficult to evaluate hand motions during personal and complex FSC. The objective of this study was to find out objective and quantitative parameters for hand motions during facial skin care (FSC). Women who enjoy and soothe during FSC (Enjoyment group (E group), n = 20) or not (non-enjoyment group (NE group), n = 19) were recruited by an advance questionnaire. The same lotion, emulsion, and cream were provided to all subjects, and they used sequentially in the same way as the women’s daily FSC. The motion of the marker on the back side of the right middle finger during FSC was tracked by a motion capture system. The heart rate variability (HRV) was also measured before and after FSC for evaluating psychological effect. Results The averaged acceleration (Avg. ACC), approximate entropy (ApEn), and power law scaling exponent (Rest γ) of the cumulative duration of slow motion from the sequential data of acceleration were evaluated. Compared to the NE group, the E group showed a lower Avg. ACC when using emulsion (p = 0.005) and cream (p = 0.007), a lower ApEn when using emulsion (p = 0.003), and a lower Rest γ (p = 0.024) when using all items, suggesting that compared to the NE group, the E group had more tender and regular motion, and sustainable slow motions, especially in the use of emulsion. In the E group, the low/high-frequency component of HRV decreased significantly after FSC, suggesting suppression of sympathetic activity (p = 0.045). NE group did not. For all subjects, ApEn and Rest γ showed significantly positive correlation with the increase in the low/high-frequency component of HRV after FSC (p < 0.01). ApEn showed significantly negative correlation with the increase in the high-frequency component of HRV after FSC (p < 0.05). Avg. ACC did not show significant correlation with them. These results suggested that the behavior of FSC influences the autonomic nerve system. Conclusions ApEn and Rest γ are useful parameters for evaluating quality of hand motions during FSC.

Learning Skin Care is one of the compulsory subjects in the Department of Beauty And Cosmetology FPP UNP. The problems encountered in learning Facial Skin Care are students having difficulty in understanding massage tehnic and problematic facial care techniques with technology. This causes student learning outcomes are relatively low. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive multimedia learning media on Facial Skin Care courses that are practical, valid and effective. This research was conducted in the cosmetology and beauty department of FPP UNP. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method. Interactive multimedia validation of Facial Skin Care courses conducted by material validators and media and language display an average of 3.68% with the category "very valid" Whereas the practicality of interactive multimedia seen from the response of lecturers who get an average of 3.60% and students 3.79%. This shows the interactive multimedia Facial Skin Care, including the category "very practical”

Jasmine Beauty Clinic is a beauty clinic that serves consultation on facial skin problems, maintain facial skin, facial treatments, and selling skin care products. Patients who want to have consultation, treatments, and buy skin care products must come to the clinic with limited time according to the schedule of the clinic. Patients are required to have a consultation with a dermatologist before getting treatment or buying products, but they have to wait long enough to get a consultation because of the large number of patients. Often some patients cannot have consultations because the dermatologist’s schedule is full. Based on this problem, an Android-based application is created to analyze the type of skin they have and get recommendation on which product and treatment combination they are supposed to use.
