Abstract Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) was introduced more than a decade ago and has been used in variety of applications based on their unique chemical and physical properties. Recently, they have shown a considerable attention in various sectors including nanotechnology because they have distinctive features as “New green solvents”. Within this scope of work, we introduced choline chloride (CC) as a DES which is nontoxic, inexpensive and has tendency to improve color yield properties of disperse dyes on the nanofibers membrane. Cellulose acetate nanofibers (CANF) were electrospun and dyed with Color Index Disperse Red 277, Color Index Disperse Blue 165:1, and Color Index Disperse Yellow 211 in Choline chloride:Ethylene glycol (CC:EG) media and Choline chloride:Urea (CC:Urea) media by using high-temperature exhaust method. Results revealed that dyeing of CANF by CC:EG media has good color fixation properties than CC:Urea media. The dyed samples were characterized by FTIR and SEM. Further, the thermodynamic, standard affinities, and kinetic parameters have also been analyzed. The proposed dyeing of CANF with DES showed excellent calorimetric properties within a short interval of time as compared to conventional dyeing process.

Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (r-PET) is a widely recycled plastic employed for new textile production in the world. It reduces environmental impact and lowers cost of the production. For the traditional dyeing of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), commercial disperse dyes are generally used. In presented research the recycled r-PET fibres 6 den dyeing with disperse dyes Itosperse: Red, Blue and Yellow (concentration 3 Wt. %) were examined and the influence of the intensifier of a salicylic acid (with concentration of 4 - 10 g/L) in dye bath was investigated. The colour properties of dyed samples and colour fastness to washing were tested. It is concluded that the presence of the intensifier of salicylic acid improves dyeing results, but the optimal concentration differs for each dye. Colour fastness test to washing of the blue dyed samples showed the insignificant changes of colour parameters. In some cases the change of shade in presence of salicylic acid was observed.

According to the great impact of additive technology on the development of modern industry, a lot of research is being done to obtain 3D printed parts with better properties. This research is extremely important because there are no scientific papers in the field of post dyeing of acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene (ABS) 3D printed parts. The experiment was carried out using disperse dyes on ABS specimens. The obtained coloration of the specimens was in the primary colors (yellow, red, and blue) in the specified dyestuff concentration range and was evaluated using an objective CIELab system. Based on the obtained color parameters, remission values and Kubelka-Munk coefficient, dye mixtures and an ombre effect were performed to obtain patterns in the desired hues. Abrasion resistance of disperse dyed specimens was tested using different abrasive materials over a wide range of fineness to simulate different indoor and outdoor soils and was compared to abrasion resistance of specimens produced from the industrially dyed wire with the master batch. The results show that 3D printed ABS products can be produced in one or more desired shades with satisfactory abrasion resistance. This undoubtedly represents the added value of 3D printed ABS parts and extends their application to the field of creative industries and design, specifically footwear design.
