Article presents the simulation model and the study of the basic mechanisms of the GSh-23 aviation autocannon. The research made use of Solid Edge ST9 software and the multibody systems method implemented in it. Simulation of functioning cannon mechanisms was carried out for two variants of forcing a piston mechanism movement by the gunpowder gases. The results obtained are time courses of a bolt and a cartridge belt drive mechanism elements movement. Assumed variants of a piston mechanism movement and elaborated simulation model will be verified in the next (planned) stage of studies basing on the results of the measurements of the experimental kinematic parameters utilising high-speed camera (Phantom) and TEMA software.

Continuous production maintenance cost is among one of the highest operational expenses for manufacturing companies. Proper planning of maintenance interventions results in optimized equipment use, higher product quality, and reduced costs. For a belt drive usefulness, it is important that it is properly stretched and has no defects. However, manual condition assessment requires a production line stop, which in turn causes production to stop with associated consequences. Continuous fault diagnosis for anomalies is a fundamental step in estimating a component’s remaining service life and then obtaining a reliable predictive maintenance system that reduces production costs. The presented work presents an approach to anomaly detection based on the vibrations obtained from the operation of the belt transmission.

Abstract The issue of the selection of mechanical drive for medium size power generators was raised in the work. The issue begins with the analysis of the propulsion system in the hydroelectric power plant, in which the turbines were selected for the amount of water flowing and for these turbines electric generators. An overview of the available drive solutions pointed to belt transmissions, which must meet the task of transferring torque from the turbine to the generator. The solution must be durable, which is why the authors conducted a deep analysis of material issues and pointed to modern polymer strips that can meet the challenges posed.

Abstract: The scope of this project was to design and develop a Shredder machine with focus on chopping of coconut leaves, areca leaves, this chopped powder to prepare the vermin compost. The project began with collection of information and data on user lifestyle and current process by which they perform their job. Concepts were developed with reference of four different shredder machine and operating processes. Concept was developed considering the safety factor users operating environment and maintenance. Considering the users’ needs and buying capacity, a prototype was fabricated. The machine consists of singlephase motor, bearings, structural frame, cutter and shaft. The machine frame is built using mild steel and CPM REX M4 HC is used for cutter tip preparation. Four cutters are mounted on shafts, which rotates.. The power from the electrical motor is transmitted to cutter shaft through a belt drive. Cut is made inside the chopping house due to the effect of tensile, friction, and impact effect in chopping process. The coconut leaves get chopped and powder is collected. The possible outcomes of this project are:  The working efficiency is set to increase with the reduced power to weight ratio.  Reduced cost with reliable performance output.  People with different physics can be accommodated on this equipment. Keywords: Agro waste; shredding machine; Cutter, Single-Φ motor, shaft.
