Abstract: The scope of this project was to design and develop a Shredder machine with focus on chopping of coconut leaves, areca leaves, this chopped powder to prepare the vermin compost. The project began with collection of information and data on user lifestyle and current process by which they perform their job. Concepts were developed with reference of four different shredder machine and operating processes. Concept was developed considering the safety factor users operating environment and maintenance. Considering the users’ needs and buying capacity, a prototype was fabricated. The machine consists of singlephase motor, bearings, structural frame, cutter and shaft. The machine frame is built using mild steel and CPM REX M4 HC is used for cutter tip preparation. Four cutters are mounted on shafts, which rotates.. The power from the electrical motor is transmitted to cutter shaft through a belt drive. Cut is made inside the chopping house due to the effect of tensile, friction, and impact effect in chopping process. The coconut leaves get chopped and powder is collected. The possible outcomes of this project are:  The working efficiency is set to increase with the reduced power to weight ratio.  Reduced cost with reliable performance output.  People with different physics can be accommodated on this equipment. Keywords: Agro waste; shredding machine; Cutter, Single-Φ motor, shaft.

An actuator system with multidegree-of-freedom (MDOF) motion and complicated action has recently attracted interest in the field of robotic technology. The present paper proposes a novel rotor-embeddedtype MDOF spherical ultrasonic motor (SUSM). The MDOF SUSM consists of a spherical rotor and a stator vibrator with an all-in-one structure. The spherical rotor is embedded in the center of an almost annular stator vibrator with a spherical inner surface, and a motor shaft is mounted on the rotor. The stator vibrator with piezoceramic disks and plates adhering to the surfaces of the vibrator can excite five vibration modes independently and simultaneously. The spherical rotor rotates around three axes by combining two of the five vibration modes. The present paper describes the basic construction and the operating principle of the rotor-embedded-type MDOF SUSM, modal analysis results for the stator vibrator, and experimental results based on trial manufacture. The proposedMDOF SUSM confirmed the operating principle of design has a simple structure and is compact and lightweight, so a large torque-to-weight ratio is expected to be realized.

In this paper, new B/S management information software developed for the regional seismic network is introduced. The main function of the software is to provide e-map service for two types of clients: administrators and guests. The application of the software will change the traditional ways and improve the working efficiency of the maintenance engineers. It was developed with Eclipse and MySQL database, following MVC framework specification. It should be deployed in the center of the regional seismic network, providing e-map services over Internet for clients. It can also provide certain dedicated functions for users according to their privileges. It has been proved that the software has both useful functions and reliable performance. The e-map service is not only helpful for the maintenance of regional seismic network, but also beneficial to the emergency relief after strong earthquake.

In textile factories, the sliver can is used to deposit and transport sliver in the process of carding, combing and drawing. Increasing the capacity of the sliver can will reduce the frequency of changing the sliver can; hence, the working efficiency can be improved. A belt drive mechanism with the driven pulley eccentrically installed was developed in this study. This mechanism was used as the driving mechanism of the coiler, which has the effect of increasing the capacity of the sliver can. In this study, several commonly used methods of increasing the capacity of the sliver can were introduced first. Then, the equation of motion of the eccentric belt drive mechanism was established, and the law of motion of the driven eccentric pulley was calculated. Finally, the relationship between the eccentricity ( e) of the driven eccentric pulley and the capacity increment ( δ) of a sliver can was analyzed by utilizing the evaluation indicators of density of per sliver lap. The result indicates that with the increase in the value of eccentricity ( e), the capacity increment ( δ) of a sliver can also increases.

Advancements in high speed, light craft (HSLC) sea transportation require a main propulsion system that provides relatively high specific power with a minimum of weight/space. For commercial operations, the economics of the propulsion system are considered a key criterion in power plant selection. Marinizing a durable second generation industrial gas turbine, like the Solar Taurus® marine gas turbine, is ideally suited to satisfy the combination of the high vessel speed objective and the operating cost economic justification of commercial HSLC. Since the Taurus gas turbine has evolved from an earlier marine propulsion gas turbine and is in offshore platform service using materials and coatings resistant to marine environments, certification for marine prime propulsion concentrated primarily on operating inclination dynamic loading and the interfaces with the auxiliary support systems. With its high power to weight ratio, reliable performance, competitive first cost, and low operating costs, the Taurus marine industrial gas turbine can be further enhanced by recuperation and variable nozzle designs improving specific fuel consumption and part load efficiencies beyond other alternatives.

Aluminum-lithium alloys have a low density and high strength to weight ratio. They are being developed for the aerospace industry. The high strength of Al-Li can be attributed to precipitation hardening. Unfortunately when aged, Al-Li aquires a low ductility and fracture toughness. The precipitate in Al-Li is part of a sequence SSSS → Al3Li → AlLi A description of the phases may be found in reference 1 . This paper is primarily concerned with the Al3Li phase. The addition of Zr to Al-Li is being explored to find the optimum in properties. Zirconium improves fracture toughness and inhibits recrystallization. This study is a comparision between two Al-Li-Zr alloys differing in Zr concentration.Al-2.99Li-0.17Zr(alloy A) and Al-2.99Li-0.67Zr (alloy B) were solutionized for one hour at 500oc followed by a water quench. The specimens were then aged at 150°C for 16 or 40 hours. The foils were punched into 3mm discs. The specimens were electropolished with a 1/3 nitric acid 2/3 methanol solution. The transmission electron microscopy was conducted on the JEM 200CX microscope.

The strength to weight ratio and oxidation resistance of NiAl make this ordered intermetallic, with some modifications, an attractive candidate to compete with many superalloys for high temperature applications. Recent studies have shown that the inherent brittleness of many polycrystalline intermetallics can be overcome by micro and macroalloying. It has also been found that the high temperature mechanical properties of NiAl can be enhanced through the addition of Nb by powder metallurgical techniques forming a dispersed second phase through interdiffusion in a polycrystalline matrix. A drop in the flow stress is observed however in a NiAl-2 at.% Nb alloy after 0.2 % strain during constant strain rate hot compression testing at 1025°C. The object of this investigation was to identify the second phase and to determine the cause of the flow stress drop.
