London is home to the largest community of Polish migrants in Great Britain. The multicultural and superdiverse character of the city frequently – though not always – helps newly-arrived inhabitants to settle and decide to stay for longer or for ever. In 2016 there was a referendum on the United Kingdom’s membership in the European Union. It was a moment when many migrants (re)considered their presence and their position in the society of the United Kingdom. One of the largest affected groups of migrants were the Poles. The purpose of this article is to present the situation of Polish migrants on the eve of Brexit, from the perspective of life in a multicultural and superdiverse city – London. The spectre of Brexit has brought out social tensions, detectible to varying degrees depending on the social character of the place of residence in question. In this article I have tried to answer the question: To what extent have the social mood and the social status of migrants in their own perception changed due to Brexit in the context of London’s multiculturalism and superdiversity? The article was based on 25 in-depth interviews with Polish migrants living in London. The research was realised within the framework of the scientific program: “The process of the social (re)adaptation of Polish migrants in London when facing Brexit – change and redefinition of social status from an intragroup perspective” (Miniatura 2, NCN Register No.: 2018/02/X/HS6/02300). Interviews were carried out at the end of April and the beginning of May, and in October 2019.

Abstract General Information This volume of the Journal is devoted to the IX International Symposium and Young Scientists School “Modern Problems of Laser Physics” (MPLP-2021)1 that was held in Novosibirsk, Russia, 22-28 August 2021. The MPLP symposium has a long history starting from 1995 and gathers scientists from many courtiers who carrying out their researches in the forefront of laser physics, quantum metrology and high-resolution spectroscopy, physics of ultracold atoms, molecules and ions, atom optics, ultrafast phenomena and attoscience, quantum optics and information, nonlinear optics and applications of laser radiation from THz to UV radiation ranges in medicine, geophysics, chemistry and microbiology. This year the sessions devoted to advances in laboratory space plasma physics with lasers was also included in the list of topics of MPLP symposium. The Scientific Program of MPLP-2021 includes invited and oral talks selected from contributed papers, as well as several Poster Sessions. A Scientific School for Young Scientists was also take place during the Symposium. Following the tradition of MPLP Symposia, the scientific program comprises single sessions of invited and oral presentations for each topic, running sequentially. This year online access to MPLP was provided for participants who can’t attend the symposium in-person and many of the invited talks were done online. List of Organizers, Committees, Chairman of the Symposium, Invited and Oral Speakers, School for Young Scientists and Results are available in this pdf.

The 10th International Conference on Mathematical Modeling in Physical Sciences (IC-MSQUARE) due to the international conditions regarding the pandemic Covid-19 was held online and in addition to the lectures and presentations that took place in real time, it also had a large collection of pre-recorded presentations that were available to the participants through the conference website. The Conference was attended by more than 180 participants and hosted about 250 oral and virtual presentations while counted more than 600 pre-registered authors. The 10th IC-MSQUARE consisted of different and diverging workshops and thus covered various research fields where Mathematical Modeling is used, such as Theoretical/Mathematical Physics, Neutrino Physics, Non-Integrable Systems, Dynamical Systems, Computational Nanoscience, Biological Physics, Computational Biomechanics, Complex Networks, Stochastic Modeling, Fractional Statistics, DNA Dynamics, Macroeconomics etc. The scientific program was rather heavy, however, according to all attendees, the program was excellent with high level of talks and the scientific environment was fruitful, thus all attendees had a creative time. The Conference Chairman Dimitrios Vlachos University of Peloponnese List of International Scientific Committee, Organizing Committee are available in the pdf.

Meeting X SLAM-TB 2021

On behalf of the Mexican Society of Immunology (SMI), and the Latin-American Society of Tuberculosis and other Mycobacteriosis (SLAM-TB), it is a pleasure to invite and welcome you to the XXIV Congress of SMI and X Meeting of the SLAM-TB, which in this occasion and for the first time both Conferences will be virtual events.  Monterrey city in the Northeast of Mexico was the original place where both Conferences should be held the last year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was not possible and now both Congresses will be virtual meetings. Both Scientific Program Committees have organized an outstanding schedule of lectures and symposia that will provide you with the fundamental knowledge and the most recent advances in mycobacteriology and immunity in health and disease. Due to the solidarity and enthusiasm of our invited speakers, the new program is quite similar to the original one and in the case of the Mexican Congress of Immunology it was substantially improved by the participation of Dr. Buchner and Dr. Doherty, both Medicine Nobel Prize awarded scientists. Besides the integration of new symposiums of high relevance topics organized by colleagues with high academic profile and prestige.SLAMTB congregate a wide group of Latin-American microbiologists, molecular biologists, epidemiologists, immunologists and other researchers interested in the study of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other related pathogens. SLAM-TB was founded in 2006 in Pucón Chile and its most important academical activity is this Meeting, in which numerous and active researchers in this field from diverse countries present and discuss their recent results, also well-known excellent researchers dictate conferences on the most relevant topics about tuberculosis.
