In this paper, the anti-glare characteristics of strengthened glass used in the dashboard of automobiles were improved to enhanced the ability of the driver to read the display. To this end, the glass surface was etched with a solution containing HF as a main component. We adjusted the concentration of the etching solution and the etching time as variables, and the transmittance, gloss, haze value, etc. of the etched glass were measured. On the etched glass surface, an irregular pattern mainly containing dioxonium hexa-fluorosilicate crystal phases was generated, and controlling the pattern could improve the anti-glare characteristics of the glass. With higher concentration of the etching solution and longer etching time, the light transmittance, reflectance, and gloss of the etched glass were accordingly lower, while the haze value increased. We discussed the relationship between these property changes and the surface microstructure, pattern components, and roughness of the etched glass.

AbstractThe characteristics of pore-scale two-phase flow are of significance to the effective development of oil and gas resources, and visualization has gradually become one of the hot spots in the research of pore-scale two-phase flow. Based on the pore structure of rock, this research proposed a microscopic glass etching displacement experiment and a Navier–Stokes equation based finite element simulation to study the pore-scale gas–water two-phase flow. Then, this research conducted the proposed methods on the type I, type II and type III tight sandstone reservoirs in the Penglaizhen Formation of western Sichuan Basin, China. Results show that the outcomes of both the microscopic glass etching displacement experiment and the finite element simulation are by and large consistent. The water distributed in the large pores is displaced, and the trapped water mainly exists in the area induced by flow around high-permeability pores, perpendicular pores and disconnected ends of pores. The microscopic glass etching displacement experiment is conducive to better observing the phenomenon of a viscous finger-like breakthrough and air jumps in migration flows in narrow throats, while the finite element simulation has the advantages of cost effectiveness, easy operation and strong experimental reproducibility.

The purpose of this work was to study and carry out glass etching of monocrystalline silicon using the Bosch method, acquaintance with the conditions of aspect-independent etching. The Bosch process was conducted using sulfur hexafluorideSF6 and perfluorocyclobutaneC4F8on OxfordInstrumentsPlasmaPro®Estrelas100. It was found that in order to level the problems that arise, it is necessary to vary the temporal relations of etching and passivation stages.

In this paper, two aspects in the wet glass etching, the pre-annealing of the glass and the mask process, are taken into consideration to achieve the deep and defect-free wet etching of Pyrex glass. Compared with the conventional strategies, i.e.,HFsolution component and mask kinds, our experiment results prove the pre-annealing is another key role to obtain theoretical isotropy character in wet etching. Besides, the high temperature pre-annealing dramatically improves the structure profiles and reduces the notching defects. Additionally, a novel multilayer mask process is proposed. With 1.5μmPR/ 100nmAu/ 100 nmAu/ 20 nmCrmask and > 450 °C pre-annealing, > 150 μm deep and non-pin-holes Pyrex glass structures are achieved and the roughness of etched surface is lower than 1 nm.
