China has 287 million migrant workers and identifying and preventing their unemployment risk holds theoretical and practical significance. This study collected data in 2019 to explore the structure of migrant workers’ perception of unemployment risk. In the first stage of this study, in-depth interviews and grounded theory analysis were conducted and an interpretation framework for migrant workers’ unemployment risk perception (URP) was developed. In the second stage, a URP scale for migrant workers was developed and then tested and verified using a questionnaire survey and factor analysis. The results showed that the URP of migrant workers is composed of many dimensions: mental, financial, relationship, citizenization and re-migration.

This study aims to reformulate the institutional relationships between legislative bodies and independent state institutions, by taking case studies of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This research was conducted with a normative method using a conceptual and statutory approach. The results showed that the DPR-KPK institutional relationship can be formulated into authority relationship, supervisory relationship and financial relationship. In terms of the authority relationship, the principal-agent approach is used to place DPR as the principal whose duty is to support and provides the resources needed for the KPK as its agent. In this context, the KPK is the recipient of the task whose authority is within the subject of DPR. For the Supervision Relationship, The New Public Management Model (NPM) is used to initiate better supervision through the input and output control mechanism. Input control is carried out by DPR through the legislation and commisoner selection process, while output control is carried out based on accountability reports made by KPK. Thus, DPR is not allowed to intervene while the KPK exercise its duty. In terms of financial relationship, the DPR can regulate funding aspects for KPK through financial legislation. However, this budget politics must be adjusted to the needs and workload in carrying out KPK duties.

The article explores the evolution of compulsory health insurance in Russia and the important changes that have taken place in the financial relationship between medical organizations and the financier. These relationships are regulated by a federal law defining the basic insurance principles implemented in our country and the rules of the CMS, which regulate the order of organizational and economic interaction of interested parties. In 2019, this by-law was amended significantly, which affected the functioning of the CMS system in 2020. The article considers the situation with the payment of medical care, provided that the planned volumes are exceeded and innovations in the rules of the CMS regulate this situation.

A potential risk of conflict of interest currently exists in research.  The financial considerations play a greater role in the decisions that are necessary in the process of research. Traditional pharmaceutical companies began to invest, not just in the commercial development of biomedical discoveries for the marketplace, but in the research centres that could deliver the discoveries.  Cooperation and interdependence between industry and research institutions is not inherently wrong, but these unions must be regulated and managed through regulatory mechanisms. When a financial relationship is been disclosed, it would be closely evaluated in order to determine the risk of an undue influence leading to bias, or loss of scientific objectivity. To sum up, a conflict of interest is a potential, but not a certain occurrence. Banning funding for university research by industry is unrealistic.  The only effective way to proceed is to implement oversight and regulation that makes both industry funding entities and researchers aware that their activities will be monitored for the benefit of public safety as the more valued concern.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of the type of disclosure used by social media influencers on consumer evaluations of influencer transparency, product performance expectations and how those factors ultimately influence purchase intentions. Design/methodology/approach An experiment was conducted with 321 participants recruited from MTurk to test a moderated serial-mediation model. Findings The results indicate that when consumers become cognizant that an influencer’s branded promotional post may have been motivated by an underlying financial relationship, they evaluate the influencer as significantly less transparent if a more ambiguous disclosure is used relative to a clearer disclosure. Transparency perceptions of the influencer impact consumers’ perceptions of product efficacy as well as purchase intentions. Originality/value Social media influencers are rapidly emerging as a popular marketing tool for brand managers, but consumer response to this form of promotion is not well understood. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study to investigate how the type of endorsement disclosure used by a social media influencer impacts consumer perception of influencer transparency, product efficacy and purchase intentions. Further, this research demonstrates the applicability of the persuasion knowledge model in the domain of influencer marketing.

Abstract Between the end of the Great Famine and the end of the union with Britain, the Irish Catholic Church was almost exclusively funded by ordinary lay people. This article examines the financial relationship between clergy and laity, focusing on payments related to death. In doing so, it argues three main points. First, it suggests that previous conceptions of lay people coerced into giving their money to the church are too simplistic and deny the complex agency of the people of many social classes who gave the money. Second, it argues that using the financial transactions of ordinary people gives historians a much-needed methodology for recovering lives about which the archives are otherwise silent. Third, it posits that the mediation of faith through money, specifically, must be added to the growing body of work on “material religion.”
