Given a heterogeneous information network (HIN) H, a head node h , a meta-path P, and a tail node t , the meta-path prediction aims at predicting whether h can be linked to t by an instance of P. Most existing solutions either require predefined meta-paths, which limits their scalability to schema-rich HINs and long meta-paths, or do not aim at predicting the existence of an instance of P. To address these issues, in this article, we propose a novel prediction model, called ABLE, by exploiting the A ttention mechanism and B i L STM for E mbedding. Particularly, we present a concatenation node embedding method by considering the node types and a dynamic meta-path embedding method that carefully considers the importance and positions of edge types in the meta-paths by the Attention mechanism and BiLSTM model, respectively. A triplet embedding is then derived to complete the prediction. We conduct extensive experiments on four real datasets. The empirical results show that ABLE outperforms the state-of-the-art methods by up to 20% and 22% of improvement of AUC and AP scores, respectively.

Nowadays, the global energy network can generate and transmit, between any two points belonging to it, high quantity of energy. During recent years, a global information network, able to process, store, and transmit huge amounts of information, has been developed as well. These networks entirely cover the industrial space, already giving the opportunity to make permanently available, in any of its points, at any time, as much as needed, both energy and information. On the other hand, the mass customization trend has led to the pronounced increase of “manufacturing to order” (MTO) production, taking place in a higher and higher number of small & medium enterprises. At this level, a given manufacturing system cannot be quickly and appropriately configured to a given product, due to production high variability in range. As consequence, the manufacturing system is, quite always, more or less unadjusted to the manufactured product, its performance being significantly affected. Starting from here, the challenge is to make a conceptual rebuilding of the manufacturing system, aiming to increase its degree of appropriateness to products, by taking advantage from the opportunities brought by the existence of global energy & information networks. This paper approach is to see the next generation manufacturing system as holonic modular cyber-physical system. System architecture permanently accords to the manufactured product requirements. The function, procedure, topology and holarchy model of the system are presented. The main features of the system are also revealed.

How do social interactions shape collective action, and how are they mediated by networked information technologies? We answer these questions studying the Temperance Crusade, a wave of anti-liquor protest activity spreading across 29 states between 1873 and 1874. Relying on exogenous variation in network links generated by railroad accidents, we provide causal evidence of social interactions driving the diffusion of the movement, mediated by rail and telegraph information about neighboring activity. Local newspaper coverage of the crusade was a key channel mediating these effects. Using an event-study methodology, we find strong complementarities between rail and telegraph networks in driving the movement’s spread. (JEL D83, J16, L92, L96, N31, N41, N71)

The chapter provides an insight into the relationship between synergic (r)urban systems, information networks and climate change, discussing the emerging ideas, and concepts related to the increasing use of information networks in the process of climate adaptation and mitigation. Emphasizing the strategic role of both digital and material information flows, supported by ICT tools, the chapter focuses on two main domains of data exchange and knowledge transfer: the public communication of climate change and the connectivity and interaction within (r)urban hybrid systems. Underlining the issues of effectiveness, accessibility, and low-carbon outcomes of synergic (r)urban reactions to climate shift, recent environmental and technological trends are considered in accordance with the preferred spatio-functional flexibility of emerging (r)urban hybrid settlements. The chapter also identifies and analyses three areas of ICT applicability, targeting the role of information networks in the anticipated climate-friendly development: human behavior, ecological awareness, and general efficiency.

The article analyzes the current trends in the use of innovative technologies in the field of tourism. The essence of innovative technologies in tourism and their role in the development of tourism is determined. It has been found that innovations in tourism are the creation of a new or improvement of an existing product using the latest techniques, technologies and resources. It was found that in the field of tourism the use of modern information technologies is relevant, in particular: mobile Internet; electronic catalogues with leisure offers; electronic booking systems; social information networks; electronic ticketing systems; Internet advertising; convenient payment systems, etc. It is established that Internet technologies are an effective means of forming a positive image of the enterprise; promotion of new types of tourist services; informing consumers about new tours or promotions, as well as promoting them on the market, etc. Examples of modern innovative technologies used in the field of tourism are given and the expediency of their introduction is proved. It has been found that in modern conditions it is important to visit online museums and virtual 3D tours, which allow you to travel via the Internet. It is proved that social information networks are an effective tool that affects the consumption of tourist services. They allow tourists to share their own tourist experience, impressions of hotels, level of service and more. It was found that at the present stage of tourism development it is important to form and effectively operate a system of innovation management. The necessity of the development of the newest directions of Internet marketing in the field of tourism is proved. It is established that the introduction of innovative technologies ensures the effective development of the tourism sector in modern conditions, as well as gives a significant competitive advantage.

To overcome the low timeliness of resource scheduling problems in spatial information networks, we propose a method based on a dynamic reconstruction of resource request queues and the autonomous coordinated scheduling of resources. First, we construct a small satellite network and combine the graph maximum flow theory to solve the link resource planning problem during inter-satellite data transmission. In addition, we design a multi-satellite resource scheduling algorithm with minimal time consumption based on graph theory. The algorithm is based on graph theory to reallocate the resource request queue to satellites with idle processing resources. Finally, we simulate the efficient resource scheduling capability in the spatial information network and empirically compare our approaches against two representative swarm intelligence baseline approaches and show that our approach has significant advantages in terms of performance and time consumption during resource scheduling.

The main goal of the presented article is to explicate the capabilities of a modern university to effectively pursue social policy in a multicultural region. The article examines the educational trends of recent years related to public demand and opportunities for the implementation of the third mission of the university. In this regard, attitudes towards communication, the practice of intellectual leisure and the active participation of universities in the creation of information networks were identified as the main educational trends. The article provides a description of socio-cultural markers that make it possible to speak with confidence about the criteria for identifying multicultural regions typical for Russia. The authors of the article draw attention to the need for universities to more actively participate in the formation of regional identities in order to ensure the cultural security of the country's residents. In conclusion, the article concludes that universities have a high potential to act as a resource for cultural stabilization and socialization in a multicultural region, that is, together with the state and civil society institutions, to implement programs aimed at harmonizing interethnic relations.
