Abstract In developing countries concentration on pollutants produced by industries such as dyeing, tanneries industries are exceptionally high. The disposal of untreated industrial waste water similar to dyeing effluent on soil is a widespread practice in developing nations. The unprocessed effluents severely deteriorate the soil properties. The study on dyeing effluents from industries affects engineering properties of soil. Hence the soil properties have to be improved for intensification of soil for the constructional activities. The soil properties are very much exaggerated by dyeing effluent which produces the soil and water pollution. In this study textile industry effluent is taken as pollutants and laboratory experiments are carried. The affected soils were treated with marble dusts as admixture to improve the soil properties. For assessment polluted and unpolluted soil samples are treated with 20% of dyeing effluent and tests were conceded out to identify an extent of the contamination. The cured samples show a decrease in strength values up to 30% with raise in the percentage of infectivity (dyeing effluent). The geotechnical properties and their stabilization using marble dust are determined with mixtures and explored.

Abstract: The physico-chemical properties and detection of heavy metals (Viz. Pb, As, Cd, Ni, Cu, Fe, Zn, Cr) and their accumulation have been studied in electroplating industrial waste water. This work describes the detection of concentration of these metals in industrial waste water by ICP-AES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy) technique. In electroplating industrial waste water samples Pb, As, Ni, Cu, Fe, Cr are detected while Cd, Zn, As, Cu are detected in trace amount in some samples. For the accumulation of metals by the waste water samples were collected and analysed. This concentration of metals is due to various electro plating industries. The waste water samples were collected from MIDC, Ambad, Nashik. Maharashtra. At this point the soil is getting polluted by the disposal of different electro plating industrial waste water. Nanomaterials play a vital role in healthcare, electronics, manufacturing industries, biotechnology, and security systems. One such material is graphene and its oxides are specifically used for recycling industrial waste water. Graphene, a single layer in honeycomb cross section, provides excellent attention because of its significant optical, mechanical, and physical properties. GO was utilized to decrease the acidic or essential centralization of the mechanical wastewater into reusable water for the modern reason utilizing graphene channels. In this paper, sample solution (waste water) is taken from paper industry. Graphene channels can be created from the pencil graphite. Graphene has the high goals of separating capacity, and graphene is considered as “a definitive RO film” in light of its stronger, thinner, and more chemically safe nature than the polymer layers. Graphene oxide layers are likewise to be used in the desalination plant in place of the RO membrane.

Nowadays environmental pollution is a great threat to us. Water resources are mostly polluted by industrial wastes. Among all other pollutions, water pollution is one of the most vital pollution caused by different sources like industrial, domestic, sewage, hazardous waste, municipal waste, medical waste, manufacturing waste, etc. Public concern over the impact of wastewater has increased. There are several methods for the treatment of wastewater. Among them, techniques like coagulation, adsorption, activated sludge are prominent. The use of aerobic wastewater treatment as a reductive medium is receiving attention for its low cost of operation and low cost of maintenance. The uses of low-cost adsorbents are also effective in wastewater treatment. The aerobic wastewater is effective in degrading the contaminants. There are different electrolytic techniques as well for wastewater treatment. This paper reviews the possible techniques available for the treatment of wastewater to remove contaminants such as halogenated hydrocarbon compounds, heavy metals, dyes, pigments etc. from the wastewater.
