Under the influence of global processes of humanization, modern Ukrainian society is changing its attitude towards people with disabilities. These changes can be seen as overcoming social and educational barriers. One of these barriers is the traditional division of education into general secondary and special (correctional), which are represented by segregation institutions. But the modern approach to the development of education breaks down this barrier.Integration processes into the European community determine the urgency of the problem of inclusive education. It is primarily due to the fact that the number of children in need of remedial education is growing steadily. The emergence of the ideology of inclusive education is due to the need to improve the system of organization of children’s education. This improvement is to create a single educational space for each child. The term “inclusion” differs from the terms “integration” and “segregation”. With inclusion, all stakeholders must be actively involved to achieve the desired result. Recognizing the value of inclusive education, it is necessary to take into account certain factors that hinder the implementation of the ideas of inclusive education. We believe that this is primarily not a tolerant attitude of the population to children with disabilities, psychological unwillingness to accept these children as full members of society. But despite the emerging disputes and disagreements, the system of inclusive education is an effective mechanism for the development of an inclusive society. This is the key to inclusive education. Rejecting all misunderstandings, we can say that inclusive education is education for all, regardless of their physical, intellectual, social, emotional, linguistic or other characteristics. It gives the opportunity to join the general process of learning and education (development and socialization), which then allows an adult to become an equal member of society. In general, an inclusive form of education and upbringing is a long-term strategy. The development of inclusive education in Ukraine requires the creation of a barrier-free environment that includes physical and psychological components. Special work with the use of additional education resources on the organization of interaction of children with and without disabilities, aimed at harmonizing children’s relationships; creating an atmosphere of emotional comfort and mutual acceptance. By changing society’s attitude towards children with disabilities, the process of integrating such children into secondary schools will gain popularity and become successful. A well-organized inclusive education will help parents of children to look at the phenomenon of integration in a new way and provide evidence that children with disabilities will not only not harm their children to full development, but will also provide additional opportunities.

The aim of this study is to determine the socioeconomic background of students at science high schools and to examine their preferences and placements into higher education programs on a yearly basis. The data regarding the socioeconomic background and placement into higher education programs of 103,635 students who graduated from science high schools between 2011 and 2019 were analyzed. The results show that there has been a partial decrease in the science high school graduates' placement into higher education programs in recent years. This finding seems to be related to the higher education quotas, rather than a dramatic change in the performance of graduates. Nevertheless, the total number of graduates placed into medicine and engineering programs continued to increase between 2011 and 2019. The results also show that placement ratios of graduates to their first, first five, and first ten preferences have decreased remarkably in recent years. The findings indicate that the imbalance of supply-demand in higher education adversely influences the graduates of science high schools, who are among the highest performing-students. The authors suggest a reevaluation of the current higher education quotas to allow an increased access to higher education. Further, our findings show that graduates have a distinct advantage in terms of their parental income and level of education. The authors suggest strengthening remedial education to minimize achievement differences in primary education and to improve the equality of opportunity in secondary education.

The article aimed to form a theoretical and practical basis for pedagogical support for families raising children with early developmental disabilities. The article included methods of analysis and synthesis to form the theoretical and methodological foundations of pedagogical support for parents and children. This article provides an analysis of the stages of stress and reactions that arise in parents at the birth of a child with developmental disabilities: 1. The expectation of the child. 2. Shock. Daze. The decline of strength. 3. Denial. 4. Feelings of anger, guilt. 5. Emotional adjustment or acceptance. Finding resources in overcoming. A study of successful experience in the field of early pedagogical support shows that comprehensive support for children and their families is effective when an interdisciplinary team including doctors and specialists in psychological and pedagogical support (a teacher-defectologist, a speech therapist, a special psychologist, a social pedagogue) works. These two groups of specialists perform different labor functions and must have different competencies. Teachers and parents need to use the basics of remedial education in the educational and pedagogical processes.

This book presents specific methods for the physical rehabilitation, mental health restoration, and academic remediation of post-institutionalized international adoptees. The focus of the book is on the neurological, psychological, and educational consequences of complex childhood trauma in the context of a fundamental change in the social situation of development of former orphanage residents. A discussion of after-adoption traumatic experiences includes a critique of certain “conventional” approaches to the treatment of mental health issues and different disabilities in international adoptees. Using his 30-year background in research and clinical practice, the author expertly describes and analyses a range of methodologies in order to provide an integrated and practical system of “scaffolding” and “compensation” for the successful rehabilitation and remediation of children with ongoing traumatic experiences. This is essential reading for researchers and practicing clinicians concerned with childhood trauma, remedial education, and issues of international adoption.

Online test websites can provide a more convenient and efficient dynamic learning approach and personalized learning services, which is one of the important approaches to digital learning. However, the usability of online test websites affects users’ learning efficacy. This study explored the impact of the usability of online test websites on users, and the results can help website operators seeking to improve the websites’ usability. Based on the relevant literature, this study synthesized three major metrics of the usability of online test websites and summarized typical work priorities of such websites to design usability test items. The study considered one online test website: A Remedial Education Institution for Learners to Take Civil Service Examination. The results show that, with respect to usability, the website still has quite a few deficiencies that affect users’ effectiveness and efficiency when using the website and cause users to be less satisfied with the website. Based on these results, this study offered four specific recommendations for improving effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction in terms of the usability of the online test website: enhancing interaction and instructions, following the inertia of interface use, simplifying information organization, and diversifying information content.

Contemporary technologies of training specialists in different professions envisage mastering the skills of a 'quality user' of computer technologies. At the same time, the issues of training primary school teachers, specialists in inclusive and remedial education to use more complex multimedia systems with the need to understand programming processes have often been excluded from basic courses as an 'unnecessary' component. But considering the current trends towards distance education, the “rejuvenation” of 'advanced users' and the need to maintain a educator's reputation, the trend towards introducing such systemic courses in the training process for specialists in primary, inclusive and correctional education has become a kind of concept for professional competence. It was based on the needs of today's teachers to transfer knowledge through multimedia systems (creating interactive databases, web pages, blogs or websites, preparing and conducting WebQuests, using computer games from producers or their own development through the platforms Wordwall, Etreniki, Flippity and Scratch programmes, etc.) that became the deciding factor for introducing specific topics on their use into training courses and expanding basic programmes of computer competency. Also, the training process began to include interaction with the training audience through social media. This multi-component work to develop a «modern/advanced» teacher provides the basis not only for improving the quality of the educational process, but also for its individualization according to the needs of each participant and his/her special educational needs, allowing to change the complexity of tasks, the saturation of tasks with audiovisual information.
