Three new species of oribatid mites of the superfamily Oripodoidea—Scheloribates (Bischeloribates) eduardoi sp. nov., Scheloribates (Hemileius) dianae sp. nov. (both from Scheloribatidae) and Peloribates (Peloribates) elisabethae sp. nov. (Haplozetidae)—are described from soil and leaf litter of the primary evergreen lowland rainforest in Amazonian Peru. An identification key to known species of Scheloribates (Bischeloribates) is updated. The taxonomic status of the genus Tentaculozetes Balogh, 1970 (Haplozetidae) is discussed, resulting in the following new taxonomic proposal: Peloribates (Peloribates) Berlese, 1908 (=Tentaculozetes Balogh, 1970 syn. nov.).

This study identifies three distinct levels of cooperation among Brazilian exporting companies and explores how cooperation intensity is related to export performance. Through a cluster analysis, a three-level taxonomy was proposed for inter-organizational cooperation. Data were collected for 157 Brazilian exporting companies, in January–February, 2018, the Qui-Square test show the findings reached can be extended to the population. The results state the more intense the asset sharing with other companies, higher the export performance. It was found that there is an increase of approximately 13% in export performance when the number of assets shared increase from 2 to 8.

Perxylobates hakkai n. sp. (Oribatida, Haplozetidae) is the second representative of the genus recorded in Taiwan; it is described based on adults from soil under Ricinus communis on a farm of the Agricultural Research and Extension Station in Miaoli District. The new species differs from related Perxylobates coreanus Choi and Aoki, 1993 by the presence of five pairs of genital setae (versus four pairs), four pairs of notogastral porose areas including A3 (versus three pairs, A3 absent), minute epimeral seta 1c (versus comparatively long), roughened epimeral and aggenital setae (versus heavily barbed), and smooth anterior part of prodorsum (versus foveolate). A revised generic diagnosis and an identification key to known species of Perxylobates are provided. The systematic placement of Perxylobates mahunkai Bayoumi, 1980 is discussed, resulting in the following new taxonomic proposal: Protoribates mahunkai (Bayoumi, 1980) n. comb.

The morphology of adult instars of two South African oribatid mites Galumna lawrencei Jacot, 1940 and Galumna capensis dissimilis Engelbrecht, 1969, is analyzed, resulting in the following new taxonomic proposal: G. lawrencei Jacot, 1940 (=G. capensis dissimilis Engelbrecht, 1969 syn. nov.). Comparison was based on the lectotype and paralectotypes (for G. lawrencei) and on the holotype and paratypes (for G. capensis dissimilis). Comments are made on the type material.

A taxonomic proposal based on dimensions and items that reflects the preferences in Data Science visualizations for domain users in tourism and road transport is presented. The needs transmitted by domain users are grouped into dimensions esthetics, ecosystem dominance, and interaction. For each item, the bibliographic review necessary to align user and ICT’s (Information and Communications Technology) concerns is carried out. In this proposal, the main conclusion focuses on the need for the visualization environments in Data Sciences to be designed and integrated for each domain, allowing users to interact transparently by guiding their tasks.

Over the years, the taxonomy of Chinese phraseology has been controversial. One of the main challenges for research in the field of phraseology is to discover how to classify all of the phraseological units in a logical and objective way. Based on the concept of grammatical metaphor (Pamies 2014, 2017), this paper tries to prove that a new taxonomy, more similar to the “Western” tradition, with the criteria of fixedness, idiomaticity and multilexematicity could be applied to the Chinese phraseology. Firstly, we examine the terminological problems in the Chinese phraseology and explain the function of metaphor in phraseology. Secondly, we demonstrate how this new taxonomy is applied to all the categories of Chinese phraseology, offering new terminology and definitions for each category. Thirdly, we focus on the slight taxonomic differences regarding phraseology between Chinese and Romanic/Germanic languages. Hopefully the application of this new taxonomy to Chinese phraseology can facilitate an objective comparison with other languages.

The present study is based on oribatid mite materials (Acari, Oribatida) collected from Macao SAR, southern China during 2016 to 2018. A list of identified taxa, including 25 species from 23 genera and 14 families, is presented; of these, 11 species and 1 genus are recorded for the first time in the fauna of this country, and 1 species is recorded for the first time in the Oriental region. The taxonomic data on two species of the family Galumnidae is provided. A new species, Dimiodiogalumna ilhaverdeensis Ermilov sp. nov. is described; it differs from Dimidiogalumna comoroensis Mahunka, 1994 by the presence of four pairs of notogastral porose areas and one strium on genital plates, and the absence of ridges on anal plates. The systematic placement of Acrogalumna bipartita Aoki & Hu, 1993 is discussed, resulting in the following taxonomic proposal: Allogalumna bipartita (Aoki & Hu, 1993) comb. nov.; the supplementary description of this species is presented based on specimens from China.

The name Bufo brasiliensis was proposed by Laurenti (1768) and, for a long time, has been associated with the widely distributed Marine toad - Rhinella marina (Linnaeus, 1758). However, we found several inconsistences in this taxonomic proposal and disagree with it. We argue that the specimen illustrated does not correspond to any bufonid form (even less the Neotropical genus Rhinella) based on the following argumentation presented below. Laurenti (1768) used Seba’s (1734) illustration in plate 73 (Fig. 1) to establish the name B. brasiliensis.
