During the nursing administration process, including preparation, management, and documentation, there is a high proportion of work interruption that results in nursing administration errors that consequently affect the safety of patients, increase the occurrence of nursing risks, and cause adverse reactions. To investigate the impact of nursing on drug withdrawal disputes in obstetrics and gynecology and reduce medical disputes are of great importance. In this study, documents related to medical disputes are collected and linked to relevant professional information systems for data collection and consultation. The patients are divided into groups and treated with different nursing methods, and then the correlation between nursing methods and disputes in different groups is computed. The results show that, based on the proposed nursing process, medical disputes caused by the cessation of nursing can be effectively reduced. Compared with traditional nursing methods, when the proposed nursing procedures are followed, the dispute rate is reduced by more than 10% and the possibility of serious disputes is also reduced with a reduction rate of about 15%. This shows that, based on the proposed nursing process, reengineering can play an effective preventive role in stopping obstetrics and gynecology nursing disputes.

During the daily nursing practice, dangerous situations might appear that, if not recognized and treated early, can lead to fatigue and professional burnout, causing detrimental consequences for the patient's safety and the adequacy of the healthcare quality of the provider. This article aims to synthesize existing research investigating the association between burnout in healthcare professionals with the safety of patient care in the last decade. The authors herein examined specific nurse surveys that involve burnout assessment and association with clinical errors throughout nurse provided care. Results from this search indicate that patient safety culture must be cultivated towards nursing errors and burnout reduction. The prompt recognition of burnout signs is the critical parameter for nursing errors prevention and patient safety, in the long term. Nursing error management is oriented towards investigation of the burnout symptoms and exists as an integral and essential issue for nursing administration to ensure excellent and qualitative patient care.

Background: While chemotherapy is an effective modality for the treatment of patients with cancer, it is a complex, multidisciplinary, and error-prone process. Paper-based protocols are commonly applied in chemotherapy; however, they fail to eliminate the complexity of this process. Therefore, a new guideline-based workflow software (GWS) system is needed to improve the workflow and quality of chemotherapy process. Methods: Planning was initiated 11 months before the system implementation and it involved a multidisciplinary group to analyze the current chemotherapy workflow and protocols for identifying the workflow components, analyzing paper-based protocols, developing computer-based protocols, and designing of systems based on an object-oriented analysis. To implement the GWS, we applied a system based on Python programming language and SQL language. Results: The conceptual model was developed based on need assessments and chemotherapy steps. A minimum dataset was developed for the electronic health records. We established examination forms for the patient management system (PMS), as well as specific standard forms for chemotherapy ordering, prescription verification and administration templates. Finally, developed GWS system consisted of a PMS, computerized provider order entry (CPOE), prescription verification system (PVS), and nursing administration system (NAS). Conclusions: A PMS, a PVS, a NAS, and a protocol-based clinical decision support system were integrated into the CPOE system to improve the chemotherapy process. Elimination of iterations and unnecessary steps in old chemotherapy workflow, increase of patient safety, improvement of communication and coordination between healthcare providers, and use of updated evidence-based medicine in direct chemotherapy orders justify the integration of GWS in the cancer care settings.

A descriptive study to assess the knowledge regarding bacterial infections among mothers of under-five in selected community areas of Kerala. The objectives of the study were: a) to assess the knowledge regarding bacterial infections among mothers of under-five in selected community areas in Kerala b) to find out the association between knowledge regarding bacterial infections among mothers of under-five with selected demographic variables such as age of mother, type of family, area of residence, educational status, occupation, immunization of the child and source of information. A quantitative approach was used in the study. Purposive sampling technique was used. Sample consisted of 100 mothers of under-five residing in selected community areas of Kerala. The researcher collected the data using self- structured questionnaire regarding knowledge of bacterial infection. The tool was found to be reliable. The study result shows that 04% of sample had poor knowledge, 25% had average knowledge, 16% had good knowledge, 32 % had very good knowledge and 23% had excellent knowledge regarding bacterial infection among mothers of under-five in selected community areas of Kerala and there was significant association between age in years, type of family, area of residence, educational status at 0.05 level of significance. Based on the findings the investigators have drawn implication which were of vital concerns in the field of nursing practice, nursing administration and nursing education for future development.

Background: Nursing education is rapidly accelerating the use of technology as a blended learning environment, which is a form of e-learning, with the technological advancement to improve learning in both clinical and theoretical courses. Aim: To compare undergraduate nursing students' academic engagement and academic achievement in traditional versus blended learning models. Design: A quasi-experimental design was utilized in this study. Setting: This study was conducted in the Faculty of Nursing – Cairo University. Method: A purposive sample of undergraduate nursing students who were studying a "nursing administration" course. Academic Engagement Questionnaire was used to measure the ‘intervention’ and control groups of nursing students’ academic engagement in nursing administration course". Academic Achievement checklist was used to assess the Grade Point Average (GPA) of the final term exam. Results: there was no statistical significance difference between intervention and control groups of nursing students regarding academic engagement (p= 0.21). In terms of Nursing Students’ Academic Achievement levels (GPA), there was a highly statistically significant difference between nursing student intervention and control groups, in which the intervention group of nursing students had the highest mean score (p= 0.0001). Conclusion: the current study concluded that the implementation of the "blended learning model" had a positive impact on students; academic achievement while the academic engagement had no difference. Keywords: Blended learning model – Traditional lecturing – Academic Engagement Achievement
