Problem. Currently, there exist two main types of service on public transport routes – headway-based and timetable-based. They differ by the frequency of service at the stops and by the information available for passengers. The required frequency of service significantly affects transport operator costs and passenger travel time which, in turn, influences the cost for a passenger. One of the ways to reduce costs for both parties of the transportation process is to make a reasonable choice of the type of service or switch between the types during the day depending on the passenger flow volume. Goal. In the paper, to justify the choice of between the types of service, the cost of public transport vehicles operation and the losses of passenger travel times are taken into account. Methodology. The developed way of making a choice about the type of service allows increasing the efficiency of urban public transport due to reducing the passenger waiting time by switching from the headway-based service in rush hours to timetable-based service in the periods of passenger flow volume decline. Results. The relationship allowing making a decision about the type of service on the route is developed. It allows to correctly introduce the type of service which will ensure the balance between the transport operator and passenger costs. Originality. The developed approach to make a decision on the type of service allows reducing the passenger waiting time by switching from headway-based service in rush hours to the timetable-based service in the periods of decline in passenger flow volume during the day. Practical value. The results of the research based on the survey data allowed estimating the numerical value of the headway at which it is expedient to switch to the timetable-based service.

Modern market requirements for transportation of cargo flows according to the «quality, speed, and cost» criteria were studied. It was found that multimodal routes have the lowest delivery time, high reliability, and minimum transit time, which provides a more accurate level of control of costs, traffic schedules, and transport safety. It was determined that the effectiveness of multimodal transportation schemes depends on a degree of realization of resource capabilities and management technologies of a multimodal transport operator (MTO). The functional features and the MTO classification were generalized, which makes it possible to generate the MTO business model as a responsible integrator of transport and logistic processes, rather than consider it only from the point of view of the organizer of mixed transportation schemes. The technology of the organizational transportation process was systematized, based on which a system of strategic goals and key performance indicators (KPI) was developed, which makes it possible to determine the «bottlenecks» according to the main business processes of a multimodal transportation operator. The modified multifactor DuPont model was proposed, which makes it possible to establish the priority of factor evaluation of more time-stable indicators based on determining the levers of the MTO resource efficiency with greater coverage of factors. The performed research can become the basis for further development of the multimodal cargo transportation system based on the development of the model for optimal management of the MTO business processes.

As the hemoglobin is transport operator of gases. Researcher would like to find out the role of exercises in maintenance of hemoglobin level amongst higher age group ranges form 51-62. The studies in the gerontology had indicated that exercises delays the aging process and had impact on certain physiological aspects. The present study was undertaken to examine the differences in Hemoglobin amongst the physically active (Dynamic exercises practitioners), Yogic practitioners and Sedentary (inactive) adults. Total number of subjects selected for the study was 120, out of which 40 each were Dynamic exercises practitioners, Yogic practitioners and 40 were sedentary adults in the age group of age ranges from 51-62 years. All the subjects were tested for hemoglobin with the help of Shalli’s Hellis hemoglobin meter. The hemoglobin level of physically active (Dynamic exercises practitioners) and Yogic practitioners were at normal range as compared to the Sedentary (inactive) adults. The level of hemoglobin amongst Active and Inactive adults Inactive and Yogic Practitioners differs. Both active adults and Yogic Practitioners were better in hemoglobin. Though the adults does not have the normal range of level of hemoglobin, but activities in any form dynamic exercise and yogic practices had the better impact in the improvement of hemoglobin.

UK devolved responsibility for planning future transport demands is shared amongst regional and local transport administrations. In Northern England, Transport for the North (TfN) provides a unified transport strategy, encompassing planning for future demand, highlighting the importance of freight transport movements throughout the Northern Powerhouse region. Given the importance of transport in fostering economic growth, this paper demonstrates the applicability of compliance and recognition schemes targeted at the UK’s commercial fleet transport operators for achieving the wider sustainability goals of the Northern Powerhouse. The research investigates the benefits of operator recognition and compliance schemes, and their alignment with strategic agendas, including the implementation of clean air zones. Results explore the extent to which Total Quality Management (TQM) and continuous improvement support regional sustainability agendas through transport operator schemes. This research is based upon surveys and interviews with transport operators from across the UK, including the Northern Powerhouse region. Thematic analysis examined responses relating to the perceived barriers and opportunities around scheme membership and the extent TQM and continuous improvement support regional agendas. Analysis reveals ideal transport operator profiles for deriving the greatest benefit from scheme membership, whilst introducing a set of business readiness conventions for benchmarking transport operator compliance activities.
