Abstract Two distinct η-deformations of strings on AdS5×S5 can be defined; both amount to integrable quantum deformations of the string non-linear sigma model, but only one is itself a superstring background. In this paper we compare their conjectured all-loop worldsheet S matrices and derive the corresponding Bethe equations. We find that, while the S matrices are apparently different, they lead to the same Bethe equations. Moreover, in either case the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix, which encode the conserved charges of each system, also coincide. We conclude that the integrable structure underlying the two constructions is essentially the same. Finally, we write down the full Bethe-Yang equations describing the asymptotic spectrum of the superstring background.

Abstract In these notes we study integrable structures of conformal field theory with BCD symmetry. We realise these integrable structures as $$ \mathfrak{gl} $$ gl (1) affine Yangian “spin chains” with boundaries. We provide three solutions of Sklyanin KRKR equation compatible with the affine Yangian R-matrix and derive Bethe ansatz equations for the spectrum. Our analysis provides a unified approach to the integrable structures with BCD symmetry including superalgebras.

Abstract We construct the first complete exceptional field theory that is based on an infinite-dimensional symmetry group. E9 exceptional field theory provides a unified description of eleven-dimensional and type IIB supergravity covariant under the affine Kac-Moody symmetry of two-dimensional maximal supergravity. We present two equivalent formulations of the dynamics, which both rely on a pseudo-Lagrangian supplemented by a twisted self-duality equation. One formulation involves a minimal set of fields and gauge symmetries, which uniquely determine the entire dynamics. The other formulation extends $$ {\mathfrak{e}}_9 $$ e 9 by half of the Virasoro algebra and makes direct contact with the integrable structure of two-dimensional supergravity. Our results apply directly to other affine Kac-Moody groups, such as the Geroch group of general relativity.

AbstractWe consider systems of Brownian particles in the space of positive definite matrices, which evolve independently apart from some simple interactions. We give examples of such processes which have an integrable structure. These are related to K-Bessel functions of matrix argument and multivariate generalisations of these functions. The latter are eigenfunctions of a particular quantisation of the non-Abelian Toda lattice.

Abstract In these notes we study integrable structure of conformal field theory by means of Liouville reflection operator/Maulik Okounkov R-matrix. We discuss relation between RLL and current realization of the affine Yangian of $$ \mathfrak{gl}(1) $$ gl 1 . We construct the family of commuting transfer matrices related to the Intermediate Long Wave hierarchy and derive Bethe ansatz equations for their spectra discovered by Nekrasov and Okounkov and independently by one of the authors. Our derivation mostly follows the one by Feigin, Jimbo, Miwa and Mukhin, but is adapted to the conformal case.

AbstractWe review properties of the null-field solutions of source-free Maxwell equations. We focus on the electric and magnetic field lines, especially on limit cycles, which actually can be knotted and/or linked at every given moment. We analyse the fact that the Poynting vector induces self-consistent time evolution of these lines and demonstrate that the Abelian link invariant is integral of motion. We also consider particular examples of the field lines for the particular family of finite energy source-free “knot” solutions, attempting to understand when the field lines are closed – and can be discussed in terms of knots and links. Based on computer simulations we conjecture that Ranada’s solution, where every pair of lines forms a Hopf link, is rather exceptional. In general, only particular lines (a set of measure zero) are limit cycles and represent closed lines forming knots/links, while all the rest are twisting around them and remain unclosed. Still, conservation laws of Poynting evolution and associated integrable structure should persist.

Abstract We introduce a new set of boundary conditions for three-dimensional higher spin gravity with gauge group SL(3, ℝ) × SL(3, ℝ), where its dynamics at the boundary is described by the members of the modified Boussinesq integrable hierarchy. In the asymptotic region the gauge fields are written in the diagonal gauge, where the excitations go along the generators of the Cartan subalgebra of sl(3, ℝ) ⊕ sl(3, ℝ). We show that the entire integrable structure of the modified Boussinesq hierarchy, i.e., the phase space, the Poisson brackets and the infinite number of commuting conserved charges, are obtained from the asymptotic structure of the higher spin theory. Furthermore, its known relation with the Boussinesq hierarchy is inherited from our analysis once the asymptotic conditions are re-expressed in the highest weight gauge. Hence, the Miura map is recovered from a purely geometric construction in the bulk. Black holes that fit within our boundary conditions, the Hamiltonian reduction at the boundary, and the generalization to higher spin gravity with gauge group SL(N, ℝ) × SL(N, ℝ) are also discussed.

AbstractLet M be the moduli space of complex Lagrangian submanifolds of a hyperKähler manifold X, and let ω̄ : 𝒜̂ → M be the relative Albanese over M. We prove that 𝒜̂ has a natural holomorphic symplectic structure. The projection ω̄ defines a completely integrable structure on the symplectic manifold 𝒜̂. In particular, the fibers of ω̄ are complex Lagrangians with respect to the symplectic form on 𝒜̂. We also prove analogous results for the relative Picard over M.
