Abstract Increasing evidence points to the importance of non-family ties in promoting health among older adults. Less is known though about these ties within the context of subsidized housing. In this study we examine prevalence of social ties between residents and examine links to health. Data were collected through interviews conducted with 39 residents age 62 and older living in a subsidized housing community in Southeast Michigan. Residents reported knowing on average 10 (SD=6.5) other residents, and nominated three (SD=4.2) residents into their close social networks. Residents who reported getting out of the community less often and those with one or more health limitations nominated significantly more residents into their network. Also, getting out of one’s apartment more often was associated with knowing more residents in the community. Findings highlight between resident ties may serve as an important resource for those geographically restricted and may be useful to integrate into interventions.

Thousands of new bacterial and archaeal species and higher-level taxa are discovered each year through the analysis of genomes and metagenomes. The Genome Taxonomy Database (GTDB) provides hierarchical sequence-based descriptions and classifications for new and as-yet-unnamed taxa. However, bacterial nomenclature, as currently configured, cannot keep up with the need for new well-formed names. Instead, microbiologists have been forced to use hard-to-remember alphanumeric placeholder labels. Here, we exploit an approach to the generation of well-formed arbitrary Latinate names at a scale sufficient to name tens of thousands of unnamed taxa within GTDB. These newly created names represent an important resource for the microbiology community, facilitating communication between bioinformaticians, microbiologists and taxonomists, while populating the emerging landscape of microbial taxonomic and functional discovery with accessible and memorable linguistic labels.

This study is devoted to the conceptualization of the «Gypsy of Moldova» doll, which became an ethnocultural symbol in the Soviet period. The doll the «Gypsy of Moldova», which has the status of a souvenir, made at the Chisinau toy factory by the Association of Chemical Enterprises in 1975, was sketched by S. Chervinskaya, the chief artist of the enterprise, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The doll «Gypsy of Moldova», made at the Chisinau toy factory in the mid-70s, along with other ethnic dolls, fit into the task of producing souvenirs as an important resource for increasing the tourist attractiveness and shaping the image of the republic. The doll «The Gypsy of Moldova» is interesting because it eventually moved from the subject world to the conceptual one, concentrating in itself the ideals and problems of the Soviet era, during which the idea of those who were personified by this doll was extremely romanticized. Nevertheless, the doll the «Gypsy of Moldova», thanks to the author’s idea of S. M. Chervinskaya, still broadcasts both universal and national-cultural components, the identity of the ethnic group, being its original portrait and symbol.

Motivation: This study deals with the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) in digital pathology (DP). The study starts from the highlights of a companion paper. Objective: The aim was to investigate the consensus and acceptance of the insiders on this issue. Procedure: An electronic survey based on the standardized package Microsoft Forms (Microsoft, Redmond, WA, USA) was proposed to a sample of biomedical laboratory technicians (149 admitted in the study, 76 males, 73 females, mean age 44.2 years). Results: The survey showed no criticality. It highlighted (a) the good perception of the basic training on both groups, and (b) a uniformly low perceived knowledge of AI (as arisen from the graded questions). Expectations, perceived general impact, perceived changes in the work-flow, and worries clearly emerged in the study. Conclusions: The of AI in DP is an unstoppable process, as well as the increase of the digitalization in the health domain. Stakeholders must not look with suspicion towards AI, which can represent an important resource, but should invest in monitoring and consensus training initiatives based also on electronic surveys.

Sexual harassment has gained a lot of attention in recent times. Research has indicated that both men and women are victims of sexual harassment and that gender is not a predictor of sexual harassment. One research has suggested that men were harassed twice as much as women, but women were harassed more frequently. The findings in this paper indicate that sexual harassment impact victims in many ways including psychologically and economically. Sexual harassment also impacts productivity and the economy due to low morale, productivity, absenteeism and presenteeism. Since human resource is the most important resource, sexual harassment is a human resource administrator function. Therefore, sexual harassment is gender neutral as both men and women are victims but women are harassed more frequently and pay a higher price physically, mentally and economically. It is therefore recommended that HRA can take steps to create a safe environment for workers where it clearly communicates acceptable behavior and educate the workforce about acceptable behaviors and investigate to eliminate harassment in the workplace.

The most important resource is the human resource, which is the basis of the organization's existence. As part of the human resource, from the point of view of the management process, a manager is distinguished, who is the person responsible for making decisions in the organization. The manager, together with his subordinates, develops the organization in the prescribed direction. The environment, manager and subordinates constitute an inseparable system of shaping the flexibility of an organization in a turbulent environment. The aim of the study is to present the manager's influence on the development of the organization in a turbulent environment. The study was based on a study of the literature on the subject and is theoretical in nature. This study may be useful not only for scientific considerations but also for the world of economic practice.
