As the events of this deadly virus in China played out on the evening news, conversations started about the impending Chinese New Year. As a tradition, China shuts down all nonessential work for several weeks to celebrate the Chinese New Year, which gives families in China time to vacation around the world. The combination of COVID-19 and the Chinese New Year helped quickly spread the virus around the world to create a deadly pandemic. Europe was first to feel the fatal effects of COVID-19, then by late February, the virus had entered the United States. The fatal consequences of COVID-19 caught all nations off guard and quickly overwhelmed the medical system. Parafia św. Jadwigi w Detroit – o wydarzeniach z 1905 r. w artykułach ówczesnej prasy Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie konfliktu w parafii św. Jadwigi w Detroit w 1905 r.

The 2017 Gulf crisis raises important questions about what happens when news networks become part and parcel of a political conflict. This research employs content analysis to analyse how two flagship evening news programmes –  Al-Hasad ( The Harvest) on Al Jazeera and  Panorama on Al Arabiya – framed the early phase of the 2017 Gulf crisis. The study provides an elucidation of how, specifically, editorial positions were made manifest and, importantly, what framing mechanisms were employed. Results suggest that Al Jazeera’s  Al-Hasad took the position of a victim being attacked by an external oppressor, while Al Arabiya’s  Panorama framed Qatar as a sponsor of terrorism.
