The use of a nutrient medium (CHA) with different acidity for growing Stagonosporopsis chrysanthemi only influenced the growth rate of the colony, the acidic medium pH 4.6 inhibited growth, while in the case of a neutral reaction, the rotational speed was higher. At the same time, the acidity of the medium did not affect the cultural characteristics of the isolates.

That the separation of the prostatae is a permanent constituent of the sperm is a fact accepted by all; but the innervation of this gland is almost not affected by the researchers. The only indication on the participation of nerves in the process of separation we find in two memoirs of Eckhard, who observed the discharge of a certain amount of prostate juice into the urethra during irritation n. n. erigentes in dogs. This separation was suppressed only at the beginning of irritation of the nerves, and Eckhard came to the conclusion that erigens is not a separate nerve for the gland in the full sense of the word, but empties the already formed secret, acting on the musculature of the gland. Eckhard, however, managed to obtain a significant amount of secretion by direct irritation of the gland itself. The collected secret had a neutral reaction, a specific gravity of 1.012 and a solid residue of 2.5%, of which about 1% was proteins.

An aryl ketone mediated synthesis of 2-alkylated benzazoles was achieved via radical coupling under photoirradiation starting from saturated heterocycles and 2-sulfonylated benzazoles, such as benzothiazoles, benzoxazole, and benzimidazole. Heterocyclic compounds, including a cyclic ether, azacycles, and tetrahydrothiophene, were applicable, and the benzazole unit was site-selectively installed at the carbon center proximal to the heteroatom. The present transformation takes place at ambient temperature under neutral reaction conditions without the aid of any metallic catalysts or reagents.

A convenient Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H activation and cascade [4+2] annulation for the synthesis of naphthalenone sulfoxonium ylides has been developed. This method features perfect regioselectivity, mild and redox-neutral reaction conditions, and broad substrate tolerance with good to excellent yields. Preliminary mechanistic experiments were conducted and a plausible reaction mechanism was proposed. The new type naphthalenone sulfoxonium ylides could be further transformed into multi-substituted naphthols, which demonstrates the practical utility of this methodology.
