Multimodal imaging in a classic case of unilateral retinocytoma

Retinoma or retinocytoma is a spontaneously arrested or spontaneously regressed variant of retinoblastoma. With the advent of the latest non-invasive imaging techniques, it is possible to evaluate the microstructural and microvascular changes associated with this tumour. Although there are a few reports which describe the imaging findings in retinocytoma, information regarding retinocytoma on the multicolour imaging is lacking. Here, we describe the multimodal imaging features in a patient with classic features of retinocytoma with special emphasis on its multicolour imaging features.

Precarious Self-Employment in India: A Case of Home-Based Own Account Enterprises

A new thrust towards self-employment is seen in India where more than half of the labor class is fending for itself outside the ambit of any kind of employment. Global production networks (gpn s) have changed the structure of the labor market and extended precarity to almost every part of work and world. This has created a labor class that is neither proletariat nor bourgeois but a petty producer integrated in gpn s through mediators called ‘contractors.’ These producers are basically laborers who have been pushed out of the factory system and forced into self-employment. The paper has studied the trajectory of non-agricultural home-based Own Account Enterprises (oae s); a classic case of petty producers across gender and caste lines in various sectors of industry using state-organized enterprise surveys conducted in 2010–2011 and 2015–2016. It has found a vast majority of oae s earning less than half the proposed minimum wage (pmv)—a threshold similar to the idea of living wages rates. The most distressed oae s are in manufacturing, especially, textile, garment, leather, and chemical industries. The over emphasis on self-employment is shrinking the space for labor movement particularly in the global South.

Case Study Method For Teaching Russian Language As A Foreigner

The article substantiates the importance of teaching Russian language to foreign students using the case study method. Now there is a lot of talk about the need to strengthen the communicative component when teaching Russian as a foreign language. This goal can be facilitated by the use of cases in classes with foreigners. The classic case contributes to the development of skills for making an independent decision, the purpose of working with a case in an audience with foreigners is different - a communicative workshop. The article lists the topics on which cases can be offered to foreigners, and presents the development of one of the cases as an example of the concept we propose.

THE UNITED STATES EDUCATION DIPLOMACY IN CENTRAL ASIA

This article tries to shed light on important aspect of the United States education diplomacy in the countries of Central Asia since they proclaimed their independence in 1991. American investments into the region surpass any other regional or global competitor by its depth, breadth and quality. The piece concludes that due to imminent distrust of authorities in the region overwhelming majority of U.S. undergraduate, graduate and exchange programs alumni could not fulfill their full potential over the past years and had to return back to either U.S. or elsewhere that was a result of classic case of brain drain and a pure instinct of personal choice and survival.
