Abstract With the rapid development of industry and agriculture, fresh water resources are increasingly scarce, desertification control project investment is more, but the benefit is small. In order to solve the practical problem of water scarcity in desert areas and the waste caused by water not being applied precisely to plants, Based on the rapid development of 5G network signal transmission technology and big data analysis technology, a set of solar semiconductor condensation wall water intake system is designed to inject new vitality into the process of desertification control by taking advantage of the environmental and climatic characteristics of desert areas. Through theoretical analysis, big data analysis and experimental study of the system, taking Liangzhou District of Wuwei City in Gansu Province as an example, the comprehensive analysis of the system was carried out. The results show that the theoretical water output per hour of the system is 138.3g, and the cumulative power generation of the system in 20 years is 28800kWh, which can reduce standard coal combustion by 8.64t, reduce CO2222.64t, and save 33609.6 yuan.

Abstract Desertification is the loss of land for its green cover and the inability of the soil to produce agricultural crops. The causes of desertification are either erosion of the soil surface by water and winds, or the high concentration of salts, as well as the high level of ground water or the lack of sufficient water for agriculture. In addition to human activities, and for these reasons, we often talk about failed agricultural management or inappropriate environmental conditions. Desertification control lies by using modern irrigation methods such as drip and sprinkler irrigation, and that using these methods can provide water for cultivating of new lands and reclaiming desertified lands. Experience shows that modern irrigation methods can save about 50% of water and increase agricultural production by about 60% compared to convention irrigation methods. The study recommends training farmers and encouraging them to follow modern irrigation methods and introducing them to the danger of desertification and its economic, environmental and social impacts. The study also proposes the establishment of two rivers parallel to the Tigris and the Euphrates, one of which stems from Samarra and ends in the south of Kut, and the second stems from the Anbar Governorate and ends in the south of Najaf Governorate. This project will increase the efficiency of irrigation. Finally, controlling desertification leads to preventing environmental pollution, creating too many job opportunities, achieving food security and raising the standard of living for people.

Overgrazing plays an important role in the grassland desertification in global drylands. The effectiveness of policies related to grazing directly affects efforts to combat desertification and sustainable rangeland management. However, there remain questions around how the interplay of grassland desertification and poverty affects the implementation of policies. To reveal the effectiveness of the desertification prevention policy that delineates national key ecological function areas (NKEFAs), the main objective was to perform a sustainability assessment and on-site investigation in Northwest China. A parallel index system, which integrates the indices for economic input–output and material supply–demand to represent sustainability, and the indices for interview records from managers and questionnaires from residents to represent the effectiveness of NKEFA policy, was proposed to comprehensively judge the performance of NKEFA policy, and the underlying causes behind undesirable effects were further analyzed. The results indicate that (1) the performance of desertification control policy is related to socioeconomic conditions—a few counties with increased socioeconomic and land resource sustainability (SLS) are peri-urban or resource-rich; (2) the fact that the socioeconomic benefits of the NKEFA policy are not obvious to impoverished farmers greatly reduces their enthusiasm for preventing desertification; and (3) the livelihood needs and defective ecological compensation force residents with underdeveloped comprehensive quality to overdevelop or use grassland resources even though they have received subsidies for conserving grassland. It is concluded that poverty and grassland desertification interact to influence potential policy performance. Our analysis can help decision makers to formulate desertification control policies with multiple goals to achieve sustainable performance in an economy–ecology system.

Desertification control is an important issue that must be considered in modern society. In order to effectively improve the accuracy and practicability of the evaluation algorithm of desertification control effect, the Alhagi sparsifolia index under different irrigation amount was taken as the research object, and the evaluation algorithm of desertification control effect was proposed. In the “vegetation-sandstorm-soil” index system, a number of indexes were selected according to the core environmental parameters of Alhagi sparsifolia and grassland desertification. And the analytic hierarchy process, remote sensing, geographic information system, and landscape technology were used to assign index weights of desertification control capacity, which were calculated by multiple discriminant matrices. Finally, the data regression analysis was performed based on remote sensing and computer image information screening and processing to determine the final evaluation results. The experimental data show that the true positive rate of the algorithm in this paper is between 160 and 200, which is within a large range of advantages, indicating that the overall evaluation accuracy of the algorithm is high and the evaluation effect is perfect.
