Abstract Understanding the toxicological properties of MnIII-porphyrins (MnTPPS, MnTMPyP or MnTBAP) can provide important biochemical rationales in developing them as the therapeutic drugs against protein tyrosine nitration induced inflammation diseases. Here, we present a comprehensive understanding of the pH-dependent redox behaviors of these MnIII-porphyrins and their structural effects on catalyzing bovine serum albumin (BSA) nitration in the presence of H2O2 and NO2−. It was found that both MnTPPS and MnTBAP stand out in catalyzing BSA nitration at physiologically close condition (pH 8), yet they are less effective at pH 6 and 10. MnTMPyP was shown no ability to catalyze BSA nitration under all tested pHs (pH 6, 8 and 10). The kinetics and active intermediate determination through electrochemistry method revealed that both the pH-dependent redox behavior of the central metal cation and the antioxidant capability of porphin derivative contribute to the catalytic activities of three MnIII-porphyrins in BSA nitration in the presence of H2O2/NO2−. These comprehensive studies on the oxidative reactivity of MnIII-porphyrins towards BSA nitration may provide new clues for searching the manganese based therapeutic drugs against the inflammation related diseases.

AbstractThe focus of this work is toward an investigation of the mechanical response of a variety of rocks to indentation loading as a close condition to drilling application. A rock classification method is introduced based on the mechanical response of the rock when loaded by a spherical indenter. Spherical shape is selected for the indenter as a common geometry, which to some extent represents most of the new or worn inserts in drill bits. Both of the force–penetration and fragmentation responses are studied and the results are categorized accordingly. Indentation loading of a quasi-brittle medium like rock contains a complex three-dimensional stress state, in which the compressive strength, tensile strength, compaction behavior and the brittleness of the rock all together are reflected in its mechanical response. Therefore, depending on the type of the rock and its properties, this response is also very diverse for different rocks. Eight types of rocks are investigated and the results from the force–penetration and fragmentation responses are summarized into three different classes.

Integrated Speed and fatigue drivers detected with the image processing method are devices that can give a warning of fatigue when the driver operates a truck or bus, so that potential accidents can be minimized caused by driver fatigue. This device uses the image processing method by image processing with camera right on the driver's face to determine facial changes that include formulated driver yawning intervals in the form of Mount Aspect Ratio (MAR), Eye Aspect Ratio (ER), Eye State (ES), Mouth State (MS), and the Slifa Sleepiness Scale (SSS) is a scale used to describe the driver's sleep level. The results of this research are a device that can detect driver fatigue levels by connecting to speed limiting devices, from the data obtained when range float EAR value less than 0.2 eye close and then value 0.2-0.3 eye condition half open and then greater than 0.3 eye condition open, range float MAR value less than 0.5 mouth close condition, 0,5-0,8 mouth half open and greater than 0.8 mouth open condition, SSS value scale 1-9, if driver condition scale 1-5 fatigue not detected, if the driver scale 6-9 driver fatigue detected.

Abstract Emotional responses to disrespect tend to be negative (Hawkins, 2015). Little is known about how responses to disrespect vary across age groups and relationship closeness. It is unknown whether older adults have more emotional protection against disrespectful experiences, or are more deeply affected due to relationship closeness. Overall, we might expect that older adults react less negatively to disrespect compared to young adults, as they are more-skilled emotion regulators (Carstensen, 1991; English & Carstensen, 2014). We aimed to explore if, and under which circumstances, older adults are more or less sensitive to disrespect compared to younger adults. Three hundred participants responded to six scenarios illustrating ignored disrespect. Participants were randomly assigned to close or distant relationship disrespect scenarios. Relationship closeness was first determined by requesting participants identify a person in each layer of Kahn and Antonucci’s (1980) Social Convoy Model. Identified names were then automatically inserted into the six scenarios. Emotional responses and sensitivity to each scenario were recorded. Participants in the close condition reported more sensitivity to disrespect and negative emotions than participants in the distant condition. Females reported more sensitivity to disrespect and negative emotions than males. We did not find overwhelming support for age differences in responses to disrespect. A single scenario indicated younger participants more sensitive to disrespect than older participants. Findings suggest it is more hurtful to be disrespected by someone close to you and females may be more sensitive to disrespect than males. More research investigating the role of age in disrespect is needed.

Human brain contain neurons which generate electrical signals, this can be recorded through electro encephalograph(EEG). Sensory motor cortices are  responsible for motor activity i.e., various body movements, among which wrist movement reveals frequency change in Alpha & Beta bands of EEG signal. The aim of this approach is to calculate frequency changes responsible for various wrist movements such as flexion, extension, clockwise rotation and anticlockwise rotation, pronation and supination of female in both eyes open and eyes close conditions using FFT, wavelet transform classifier, where the largest set of EEG data is reduced to dimensions and the spectral frequencies for particular wrist movements are classified and the statistical analysis is done of various trials for both eyes open and eyes close conditions in both time domain and frequency domain and the mean and standard deviation of various trials will be compared for eyes open and eyes close condition in both time domain and frequency domain and these values can be implemented for neuro prosthetic applications.

The dining room door with going out and coming in of people and goods is often opened, heating and air-conditioning building in order to energy-saving and preventing the outdoor air on indoor environment influence, install a set of air curtain at the entrance of the dining room door to stopping the outdoor air, commonly used air curtain is ceiling type air curtain. This article in view of the gate of one area, a layer of the dining room of Hebei University of science and technology of a new campus area set up physical model of air curtain and reasonable simplification, determining the calculation area of the numerical simulation and air curtain close condition. Then adopting the UFD method to wind pressure, hot pressure and the air curtain air flowing of the local hot pressure stack of main entrance set up physical model, through the numerical simulation of air curtain different jet angle, demonstrate the air energy-saving effect, provide the reference for the choice of the air curtain.
