Patients with cancer have widely divergent experiences throughout their care from screening through survivorship. Differences in care delivery and outcomes may be due to varying patient preferences, patient needs according to stage of life, access to care, and implicit or explicit bias in care according to patient age. NCCN convened a series of stakeholder meetings with patients, caregivers, and patient advocacy groups to discuss the complex challenges and robust opportunities in this space. These meetings informed the NCCN Virtual Patient Advocacy Summit: Cancer Across the Lifespan held on December 10, 2020, which featured a keynote presentation, multidisciplinary panels, and presentations from patient advocacy organizations. This article encapsulates and expounds upon the findings from the stakeholder meetings and discussions during the summit.

Dr. Richard Byrne’s 1976 Keynote presentation at BIO '76 offered sage advise to all biomedical photographers, medical illustrators, and biocommunicators that focused on embracing computer technology. Perhaps now, more than ever for many of us, his universal message still rings true.

We gratefully acknowledge the presence of all participants on the 2021 International Conference on Mechanical Automation and Electronic Information Engineering (MAEIE 2021), which was successfully held in Zhuhai from 24th to 26th September, 2021. MAEIE 2021 aimed to provide a platform for experts and scholars, engineers and technicians, and R&D personnel to share scientific research results and cutting-edge technologies, understand academic development trends, broaden research ideas, strengthen academic research and discussion, and promote cooperation in the industrialization of academic results. MAEIE 2021 focused on professional fields such as Mechanical Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Information Processing, Information Engineering, etc. About 80 participants from academic, high-education institutes and other organizations took part in the conference. The conference model was divided into two sessions, including oral presentations and keynote speeches. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. In the keynote presentation part, we invited 12 professors as our keynote speakers. The first keynote speaker, Prof. Junlong Chen, IEEE Fellow, from South China University of Technology, China. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Guoliang Chen, from Shenzhen University, China. The Third International Conference on Green Energy and Environment (The 3rd ICoGEE 2021) was organized by the Faculty of Engineering – Universitas Bangka Belitung together with some co-organized members such as the Faculty of Engineering – Universitas Tadulako, Faculty of Engineering – Universitas Bengkulu, Faculty of Engineering – Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji, Faculty of Technology and Science – Universitas Jambi, MIPAnet and Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB). We planned The 3rd ICoGEE 2021 to held on September 29th – 30th, 2021, in Pangkalpinang, Indonesia. However, the COVID-19 pandemic that is still engulfing various countries has hampered diverse gathering and traveling activities. Therefore, The 3rd ICoGEE 2021 has been held virtually using the Zoom Meeting platform. The 3rd ICoGEE 2021 is a scientific conference involving various disciplines that aims to create innovations related to the development of science and technology to protect energy and the environment. Another goal of ICoGEE is to build a collaborative network between government, practitioners, and academics to solve problems in the energy and environmental sectors. Thus, this year’s ICOGEEE carries the theme: “Innovation Science and Technology Innovation for Sustainable Development Green Energy and a Cleaner Environment.” Although held online, this conference was attended by about 150 researchers, engineers, and scientists from various institutions. There are more than 60 institutions from nine countries: Indonesia, India, Viet Nam, Japan, Spain, China, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cyprus, participating in The 3rd ICoGEE 2021. The conference consists of two parts: keynote presentation and oral presentation. There were 114 papers (after the review process) divided into three topics: Green Energy and Application, Environmental Science and Technology, and Energy and Environmental Management. During the oral presentation session, the participants were divided into academic groups according to the topic. We are very grateful because, in 2021, The 3rd ICoGEE has keynote speakers from different countries and institutions who are experts in energy and environmental aspects. Our great honor is that five experts gave excellent keynote speeches: Prof. Misri Gozan as Vice President of Asian Federation of Biotechnology, Associate Prof. Dr. Oki Muraza from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Prof Taufik from Cal. Poly. State University, Prof. Ocky Karna Radjasa as Deputy Chairman of Earth Sciences - LIPI, and Prof. Jatna Supriatna as Vice Chairman of the Belantara Foundation. Although The 3rd ICoGEE was held virtually, the conference can still achieve its primary purpose or benefit. All manuscripts published in the proceeding have been through a rigorous review to meet the requirement of high-quality papers. The committee wishes to acknowledge speakers and participants who attended this virtual conference. We are beyond glad as this pandemic situation, which has been going on for more than a year, would not let their spirit down to keep participating in this conference. Plenty of thanks are given to all persons who have helped and supported this conference. Warmest Regards, Chairman of Organizing Committee Herman Aldila Conference Committees are available in the pdf

Following Dr. Stephanie Forrest of Arizona State University's keynote presentation there was a wide ranging discussion at the tenth international Genetic Improvement workshop, GI-2021 @ ICSE (held as part of the International Conference on Software Engineering on Sunday 30th May 2021). Topics included a growing range of target systems and appli- cations, algorithmic improvements, wide-ranging questions about how other elds (especially evolutionary computation) can inform advances in GI, and about how GI is 'branded' to other disciplines. We give a personal perspective on the workshop's proceedings, the discussions that took place, and resulting prospective directions for future research.

The theme was “Navigating Uncertainty, Embracing Change and Empowering the Next Generation of Clinician-Scientists”, and the meeting featured lectures and workshops that were designed to provide knowledge and skills for professional development of clinician investigator trainees. The opening remarks were given by Jason Berman (President of CSCI/SCRC), Tina Marvasti (President of CITAC/ACCFC) and Nicola Jones (University of Toronto Clinician Investigator Program Symposium Chair). Dr. Michael Strong, President of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, delivered the keynote presentation titled “CIHR’s COVID-19 Response and Strategic Planning”. Dr. John Bell (University of Ottawa) received the CSCI Distinguished Scientist Award, Dr. Stanley Nattel (Université de Montréal) received the CSCI-RCPSC Henry Friesen Award (RCPSC; Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada) and Dr. Meghan Azad (University of Manitoba) received the CSCI Joe Doupe Young Investigator Award. Each scientist delivered talks on their award-winning research. The interactive workshops were “Developing Strategies to Maintain Wellness”, “Understanding the Hidden Curriculum: Power and Privilege in Science and Medicine”, “Hiring a Clinician Scientist Trainee: What Leaders Are Looking For” and “COVID-19: A Case Study for Pivoting Your Research”. The AGM included presentations from clinician investigator trainees nationwide. Over 70 abstracts were showcased, most are summarized in this review, and six were selected for oral presentations.
