In this paper weve tried to analyze the translation of L. Glck poem about Persephone (poetry collection Averno), carried out by Ekaterina Dais. A brief outline of literary work of Louise Glck is given. Using the method of hermeneutic commentary, the leitmotifs of her poetic and prose works are characterized. Understanding these motives is an important stage in the pre-text work, since the complex codes (often implicative) presented in poems about Persephone cannot be adequately deciphered without prior knowledge, and, therefore, it is not possible to evaluate the efforts of the translator, the tactics chosen by her. The material for the analysis is the poem Wanderer Persephone from the poetry collection Averno. Another goal of the article is to acquaint the Russian-speaking reader with the work of the original American poetess, which is currently reflected in the Russian scientific discourse.

Abstract The following text was published in German as an afterword to the bilingual poetry collection Charles Bernstein: Angriff der Schwierigen Gedichte (München: luxbooks, 2014). Originally intended as a critical survey and introduction for German-language readers, it traces Bernstein's work as a radical modernist poet, distinguished scholar, and critical theorist in his own right from the late 1960s to the early 2010s. From his early poetry to L = A = N = G = U = A = G = E magazine, from his major books of poetry and collective avant-garde performances to his essays on poetics, Bernstein, I argue, consistently articulated with wit and precision why and how radical modernism affects what Jacques Rancière has called the “distribution of the sensible.”

The mana wāhine movement can be seen as a Māori version of ecofeminism. This definition, however, limits its valence and profound meaning, which can be understood only in the light of a different cultural paradigm. The poetry collection Tātai Whetū, in Māori and English, translated into Italian in the volume Matariki, sciame di stelle, exemplifies writing in the tradition of mana wāhine, that is, a literary genre that inflects political activism, environmentalism, feminism and a deep bond with Māori cultural roots

Abstract As an introduction to Charles Bernstein's first poetry collection in Spanish, his translator traces a genealogy of linguistic procedures in American poetry and other theoretical and artistic sources relevant to the Language poets as well as to those influenced by them. This article offers a contextual and critical companion to each of Bernstein's publications throughout more than four decades. The special attention in the first half to a varying range of conceptual strategies in his books and rhetorical figures in his poems echoes in the arguments set in the second half for the selection and translation decisions made by the author in order to bring Bernstein's work into the Hispanic world.

Abstract Literary works across cultures are never written in a vacuum. They depict the reality of the society where they are set. With the societal obligation of the writers to serve as righters, especially in Africa, this study attempts a pragmatic inquiry of the state of the Nigerian society as implicitly and artistically painted in Remi Raji’s poetry collection, A Harvest of Laughters. The known literature on Remi Raji’s A Harvest of Laughters have analysed the collection mainly from literary and ideological perspectives. Attention has not been given to the collection from a pragmatic perspective, hence the intervention of this study. Drawing insights from Jacob Mey’s Pragmatic Acts Theory, the study analyses the pragmatic imports in the collection with fourteen (14) randomly selected excerpts across different segments of the collection constituting the data. Data was purposively selected from different poems in the collection. The findings show that the two major discursive issues in the text are the depiction of the government as cruel and the portrayal of the citizenry as victims. The former was conveyed through the practs of oppressing, embezzling and deceiving, while the latter was revealed through the practs of suffering and hoping. The study concludes that pragmatics is a valuable tool in the demystification of texts.

In this study, scientific thought is explored in the poetry of Mahakavi Bharati. The researcher has explored the thoughts expressed in the poem of Mahakavi Bharathi. In particular, Mahakavi Bharathi's poetry reflects scientific thought on technology, agriculture, communication, and education. This article is based on library research and quality research. The purpose of this review is to identify and categorize the poems that emerge in Bharati's poetry and to describe it. Selected Bharathiyar poems have been studied. Bharathiyar Poetry Collection Book (20) has been used for this study. This study helps us to understand how Bharati viewed the subjects of technology agriculture communication and education through his poetry at that point of time. Information obtained from this research can be used by students, researchers and poets in many ways.

The article considers the specifics of the theme of Chinese city Nanjing as one of the main and significant images in the Bai Hua’s poetry during his stay in this city in 1988 – 1992. Poems from the poetry collection “In Nanjing” were translated and analyzed, the influence of the city on the author’s inner world and on his further artistic work was studied. It is noted that the city made a pleasant impression on the poet and contributed Bai Hua to the transition to lyric poetry. The influence of Nanjing’s spring landscapes on the poet’s life and poetic mood is substained on the examples of the poems “Freedom”, “Holiday” and “Spring Day”.

Frederik Rreshpja, a famous Albanian poet, was born in Shkoder in 1940 and died in 2006. His   first literary work, the poetry collection, "Albanian Rhapsody" was published in 1967. He was imprisoned and served 17 years in prison during the communist regime.After he was released from prison, lived in Tirana and published the volumes "The time has come to die again" - 1994, "Selected lyrics" - 1996, a collection that was announced the best national book of the year, as well the volume of poetry "In solitude " was to be published in 2004.The focus of the article is on the features of the poetic style specifically on the grotesque as an author’s poetic preference that constitutes a special point of view of the author.The grotesque as an archetype of the poetic state in Rreshpa's poetry is conceived as a way of artistic reflection and as a style of writing. The key function of the metaphor-grotesque is the transfer, within the form of expression, from one context to another context with poetic undertones.Grotesque is a way of expression or way of presentation in which exaggerated sides are put together in powerful and unexpected contrast, or the most mixed, distorted and isolated forms of reality…
