The aim of the article is to disclose some general trends in scientific discourse studies that have emerged by the second decade of the 21 st century, to characterize scientific discourse as a means of promoting knowledge, and to consider its contribution to public communication. The notion of scientific discourse incorporates both conventional (scientific articles, reviews, theses, dissertation abstracts) and modern forms of discourse (online academic conferences, symposia, colloquiums, seminars). The research is viewed in the article as a result of scientists' social activity targeted at new knowledge discovery and broadcasting, whilst the scientific text is defined in terms of verbal representation of the research results in a par with new knowledge transmission. Two types of determinants are introduced to regulate the model of scientific text composition – internal and external. The internal determinant is represented by discursive structures, which promote knowledge in scientific text as the element of scientific communication, while the external dominant is represented by extralinguistic factors, which provide the promotion of scientific discourse outside the professional community (socializing). Воth kinds of determinants provide the interpretation of the scientific discourse as open systems. An assumption is made on the increasing role of external determinant in discursive extension of modern scientific text by means of the Internet; the addressee factor wider representation and scientific knowledge inclusion into cross-cultural communication.

The review reveals the specificity of the authors approach to the phenomenon of acmeism. It has been proven that the work under review is a tutorial of a new type. So, at the substantive level, the book is included in the scientific discourse and correlates with the genre format of the monograph, at the formal compositional level, it is associated with the genre format of the tutorial.

The paper introduces into scientific discourse materials of the sacrificial complex, unique in its content, recovered from burial 33 of the 6-8 cen. Tat-Boyary cemetery. The site correlates with the early medieval formation of the western part of the Ancient Perm oecumene in the Kama-Volga Interfluve, and from the archaeological perspective - with the Emanaevo culture. The sacrificial complex is a birch bark box with a number of artifacts that was located in a special niche of the cenotaph. The paper gives a detailed description of the sacrificial complex consisting of bronze and silver elements of the detachable pectoral plate, belt, set of pectoral decorations, and the wallet, as well as fabric and leather elements of the female ceremonial costume. A wide range of parallels quoted in the paper allows to date the complex to the 8 or, possibly, the early 9century and to justify the high-scale involvement of the Vyatka population into the ethnocultural and trade Eurasian long- and close-distance contacts. They demonstrate the most stable contacts with the Volga-Finnish world and Ancient Perm cultures of the Cheptsa and Kama basins. Being introduced into scientific discourse, the materials of the Tat-Boyary sacrificial complex enhance our insight into the cultural specifics of the Vyatka population in the Middle Ages; besides, they are important to a better understanding of archaeological origin of the Kama-Vyatka Interfluve local ethnographic costumes.

This article deals with a pair of old ethnographic maps made by a Bulgarian officer (bearing the rank of Captain at the time) named Anastas Benderev (1859–1946). The maps were first published as folding attachments in Benderev’s book Military Geography and Statistics of Macedonia and Its Adjacent Territories on the Balkan Peninsula (Voennaia geografiia i statistika Makedonii i sosednikh s neiu oblastei Balkanskago poluostrova), which itself was published in Russian in Saint Petersburg in 1890. The stated purpose of the maps was to elucidate certain passages from the book, particularly those pertaining to the population’s ethnic composition. One of the maps (Etnograficheskaya karta Balkanskogo poluostrova) depicts the ethnicities across the entire Balkan Peninsula, while the other (Etnograficheskaya karta Makedonii) focuses on those within the confines of the historical and geographical territory of Macedonia. Due to a confluence of events, the maps in question are barely known and hardly ever used nowadays, even though they represent valuable relics from the era. This article aims to reintroduce them into the scientific discourse as historical documents of note.

Interlingual Communication during French Scientific Expeditions to Lappland, Peru and South Africa in the 18th Century In this paper, I try to outline the image of the interlingual communication during scientific expeditions by detecting and analysing remarks about such instances in the narratives by the expeditions’ commanders. I analyse a narrative of Maupertuis on his geodesic mission to Lappland (1734- 1735), two narratives of La Condamine on his geodesic mission to Peru (1735-1743), and two narratives of Le Vaillant on his travels across South Africa (1781-1784). During his short stay in Lappland, Maupertuis was assisted by a Swedish astronomer and by a Laponian, both speaking French and Finnish. La Condamine and Le Vaillant learned local languages (Spanish, Quechua; Hottentot, Namaqua) in order to eliminate the intermediation of an interpreter. In linguistically fragmented areas, they worked with random natural interpreters. French scientists also made use of the native inhabitants’ familiarity with European languages: official languages of the colonies (Spanish in Peru, Dutch in South Africa) and French, the language of social, cultural and scientific discourse in the 18th century, which they acquired for pleasure.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to verify and assess the current state of scientific publi-cations in the field of management accounting and controlling presented at the conference “Accounting and controlling”. Metodology/approach: An analysis of the papers submitted to the conference was carried out in terms of the number of publications based on university affiliation, degree of partici-pant interest in the conference, and issues raised in the area of management accounting and controlling. Findings: The issues raised in the articles submitted to the “Accounting and controlling” conference demonstrate that interest in the issues of management accounting and control-ling is significant. However, despite the 25 years of scientific discourse, there is still a wide variety of opinions on the concept of controlling, its mission and specifications, as well as the place of controlling as a discipline in enterprises. Accounting tools that support man-agement are presented in many publications. However, there are also publications that discuss original concepts in the field of the methodology of controlling. Originality/value: The article summarises national scientific achievements in the field of management and controlling presented in the series of 25 editions of the conference “Account-ing and controlling. The article deals with the issue of readiness to change the form of teaching of children with autism spectrum disorders and is an attempt to answer questions about the methods of therapy and education of these people. The VB-MAPP Program will be presented as a example of a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic procedure that facilitates making a professional decision to change the form of teaching. Considerations are to be accompanied by an issue that is more and more often present in the scientific discourse and among practitioners, teachers, therapists and parents: Is the education system in Poland responding to the special needs of children and is inclusion always the right way?
