Welding defects must be inspected to verify that the welds meet the requirements of ship welded joints, and in welding defect inspection, among nondestructive inspections, radiographic inspection is widely applied during the production process. To perform nondestructive inspection, the completed weldment must be transported to the nondestructive inspection station, which is expensive; consequently, automation of welding defect detection is required. Recently, at several processing sites of companies, continuous attempts are being made to combine deep learning to detect defects more accurately. Preprocessing for welding defects in radiographic inspection images should be prioritized to automatically detect welding defects using deep learning during radiographic nondestructive inspection. In this study, by analyzing the pixel values, we developed an image preprocessing method that can integrate the defect features. After maximizing the contrast between the defect and background in radiographic through CLAHE (contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization), denoising (noise removal), thresholding (threshold processing), and concatenation were sequentially performed. The improvement in detection performance due to preprocessing was verified by comparing the results of the application of the algorithm on raw images, typical preprocessed images, and preprocessed images. The mAP for the training data and test data was 84.9% and 51.2% for the preprocessed image learning model, whereas 82.0% and 43.5% for the typical preprocessed image learning model and 78.0%, 40.8% for the raw image learning model. Object detection algorithm technology is developed every year, and the mAP is improving by approximately 3% to 10%. This study achieved a comparable performance improvement by only preprocessing with data.

The sensor drift problem is objective and inevitable, and drift compensation has essential research significance. For long-term drift, we propose a data preprocessing method, which is different from conventional research methods, and a machine learning framework that supports online self-training and data analysis without additional sensor production costs. The data preprocessing method proposed can effectively solve the problems of sign error, decimal point error, and outliers in data samples. The framework, which we call inertial machine learning, takes advantage of the recent inertia of high classification accuracy to extend the reliability of sensors. We establish a reasonable memory and forgetting mechanism for the framework, and the choice of base classifier is not limited. In this paper, we use a support vector machine as the base classifier and use the gas sensor array drift dataset in the UCI machine learning repository for experiments. By analyzing the experimental results, the classification accuracy is greatly improved, the effective time of the sensor array is extended by 4–10 months, and the time of single response and model adjustment is less than 300 ms, which is well in line with the actual application scenarios. The research ideas and results in this paper have a certain reference value for the research in related fields.

Nowadays, robust watermark is widely used to protect the copyright of multimedia. Robustness is the most important ability for watermark in application. Since the watermark attacking algorithm is a good way to promote the development of robust watermark, we proposed a new method focused on destroying the commercial watermark. At first, decorrelation and desynchronization are used as the preprocessing method. Considering that the train set of thousands of watermarked images is hard to get, we further use the Bernoulli sampling and dropout in network to achieve the training instance extension. The experiments show that the proposed network can effectively remove the commercial watermark. Meanwhile, the processed image can result in good quality that is almost as good as the original image.
