This qualitative research study looked into principals' leadership practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. It enlisted the participation of five school principals using convenient sampling based on inclusion criteria. To collect data, a semi-structured written interview based on Hersey and Blanchard's Situational leadership theory was used. To display the narratives, the data were transcribed, examined, compared, and carefully categorized into several themes. The findings reveal that school principals employed: 1. Strengths-based Practices; 2. Values-based Practices; and 3. Needs-based Practices. The findings of this study highlighted the need of applying situational leadership practices to strengthen principals' instructional and administrative duties, particularly during times of global crises.

Leadership circulates via the networks of positions that make up organizations. People's resources serve as the medium and currency of leadership. This research focuses on integrating the culture and nature of the principals' leaders and responsibilities in the school while adhering to the situational leadership theory. The descriptive survey technique of research was utilized in this study. Findings show, that principals must also properly manage opportunities. The principal may be an educational expert continually by creatively scientifically integrating ideas, materials, and human resources to meet the demands of time while also being supportive of his subordinates' accomplishments. When working habits and interpersonal connections are shown in the workplace, effectivity occurs.

The current study demonstrates the association between the perceptions of the designations regarding college principals’ leadership style in perspective of situational leadership theory. This article is quantitative in nature and ex-post-facto research design was adopted. The population was comprised of all colleges which are affiliated with the University of the Punjab in Lahore Division. Multistage sampling technique was adopted for selecting sample. Thus, the sample of the study was comprised of 74 college principals and 370 teachers on the basis of their job experience. The instrument of LBA-II Self/Other was adopted. The data was analyzed on SPSS using descriptive and inferential statistics. There was disassociation between the perceptions of the designations regarding the primary, developing and diagnosis leadership style, except the secondary leadership style where was association found between the perceptions of the designations. Whereas, there was no difference in teachers and principal’s perceived leadership style flexibility and effectiveness.

Purpose Empirical tests of Hersey and Blanchard’s situational leadership theory (SLT) have demonstrated that the assessment of follower competence and commitment, critical contextual features dictating optimal leadership style, poses several problems in testing the validity of this theory. As well, most previous studies have used leader rating as the only information source in making these assessments. The purpose of this paper is to use the degree of agreement between leader rating and follower self-rating to determine follower competence and commitment, and consequently an optimal leadership style. Design/methodology/approach Survey data collected from both supervisors and employees in business organizations in Norway were analyzed to test the predictions put forward in SLT. Findings The results show that SLT principles are supported when leader rating and follower self-rating are congruent. However, no support was obtained for Blanchard’s suggestion to apply followers’ self-ratings of competence and commitment in the case of discrepant ratings of follower development level. But data do support the contention that leader assessment would be a better basis for providing followers with appropriate direction and support. Originality/value So far SLT has been a very popular but as yet under-researched theory. An important contribution of the present study is by making SLT an evidence-based theory, as opposed to just being intuitively sound. As such, the authors think SLT in an updated “convergent” version should be applied in organizations and taught in leadership development programs.

The study of Ideal leadership concept currently still becomes an interesting topic. From Islamic perspective, the nature of human being who descended to earth is to be a leader. Furthermore, during the leadership history, Prophet Muhammad is named as an ideal leader due to his success of gaining many followers in the religious proselytizing. The leadership model that is conducted by the prophet is known as prophetic leadership. During his time of being a prophetic leader, he is also included in the situational leadership theory, in which the theory is the combination of authoritarian, laissez faire, and democratic leadership. This kind of leadership model is very suitable to be applied in anywhere. In this study, the writer explains about situational leadership that has been applied by Prophet Muhammad in a micro organization called library. This study is significance as an alternative leadership model that can be applied by the head of library

This paper introduces the design of an agent-based leadership support system exploiting a computational model for development of individuals or groups. It is to be used, for example, as a basis for systems to support a group leader in the development of individual group members or a group as a whole. Using a computational model for Situational Leadership Theory and model-based reasoning techniques, the system monitors and analyzes the development level over time and provides support to the group leader by proposing for different points in time the most effective leadership behavior according to Situational Leadership Theory. The support model has been formally designed and, within a dedicated software environment, simulation experiments have been performed.
