Kepatuhan Pengendalian Intern dan Perilaku Etis Karyawan di PT. Intan Bali Cargo International

PT. Intan Bali Cargo International is a company engaged in the international freight forwarding industry. This study aims to analyze the influence of the control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information & communication and monitoring to ethical behavior of employees at PT. Intan Bali Cargo International. The sample was determined using the purposive sampling method so that 47 respondents were selected as the sample. Multiple linear regression analysis technique was used to analyze the data. The results of the analysis show that the control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring have a positive and significant effect on the ethical behavior of employees at PT. Intan Bali Cargo International. These results indicate that the higher the level of internal control compliance, the ethical behavior of employees in the company will also increase. Investigation of the logistics chain of cargo delivery in the context of choosing a freight forwarding company

Objective: The choice of a logistics and freight-forwarding company by the cargo owner at the initial stage of planning the logistics chain of cargo delivery. Methods: The analysis of the logistics chain of cargo delivery, methods of deploying quality functions when choosing a transport company and expert assessment are applied. Results: A system of traditional and logistic models of forwarding, a scheme for differentiating the requirements of a cargo owner is presented, a matrix for the deployment of quality functions is built, an example of expert assessment of the parameter of a transport and logistics company is developed. Practical importance: Using the quality function deployment method makes it possible to translate the cargo owner’s requests into specifi cations and requirements. The competitiveness of the given transport and logistics company is assessed.

ENHANCING TRACKING PRACTICES IN THE MALAYSIAN FREIGHT FORWARDING INDUSTRY

Freight forwarding is the movement of all intermodal commodities on behalf of shippers. Although the freight forwarding industry's contribution to a country's national output may not be as competitive as other sectors, the role that this industry plays in supporting an economy's activity cannot be underestimated. Furthermore, the stiff competition in the freight forwarding industry requires companies to continue to excel to survive and compete with the competitors. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to assess current literature and practices in the freight forwarding industry regarding tracking practices. Furthermore, it is expected that the documentation, freight readiness, route and technology capabilities will serve as a foundation for more effective operations and practices in Malaysia, ensuring the freight forwarding industry's sustainability. The study contributes to the body of knowledge on freight forwarding performance and can assist managers in reacting appropriately to create cost-effective logistic solutions.

Applying Simulation Modelling in Quantifying Optimization Results

Improvements achieved by applying linear programming models in solving optimization problems in logistics cannot always be expressed by physically measurable values (dimensions), but in non-dimensional values. Therefore, it may be difficult to present the actual benefits of the improvements to the stake holders of the system being optimized. In this article, a possibility of applying simulation modelling in quantifying results of optimizing cross dock terminal gates allocation is outlined. Optimal solution is obtained on the linear programming model by using MS Excel spreadsheet optimizer, while the results are quantified on the simulation model, by using Rockwell Automation simulation software. Input data are collected from a freight forwarding company in Zagreb, specialized in groupage transport (Less Than Truckload - LTL).

Applying ERRC of Blue Ocean Strategy: A Value Innovation for Contracting Carrier Company Study Case in Indonesia

This study aims to determine the strategy's ability to make price competition irrelevant and optimize the company's operating costs. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research with the subject of this research is one of the Freight Forwarding companies in Jakarta, namely IGL. The results obtained in this study, among others, by creating partners abroad (Key Partnership), which focus on having freehand shipments import and nominee shipments export, can make a condition where price competition becomes irrelevant. The results also show that focusing on being a contractual carrier and procurement of warehouses is also proven to positively impact operational costs and company performance, provide added value to customers, and support the company's main business.

PENINGKATAN KINERJA PERUSAHAAN EKSPEDISI MUATAN KAPAL LAUT DENGAN APLIKASI SEA LOGISTIC SYSTEM

Saat ini pengusaha sedang giatnya dalam meningkatkan kinerja dan produktivitas serta daya saing di pasar internasional, oleh sebab itu kegiatan eksport didalam negeri harus dapat ditingkatkan, untuk mewujudkan kemandirian ekonomi domestik, sesuai dengan Nawa Cita Presiden Jokowi dalam mendukung industri 4.0. Salah satu yang menunjang kegiatan tersebut adalah perusahaan di bidang Freight forwarding, adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang jasa pelayanan pengurusan atas seluruh kegiatan yang diperlukan bagi terlaksananya pengiriman, pengangkutan dan penerimaan barang. Perusahaan jasa ekspedisi yang melayani pengiriman barang melalui jalur laut tergabung dalam EMKL atau Ekspedisi Muatan Kapal Laut, dimana didalamnya terdapat perusahaan-perusahaan jasa ekspedisi yang rata-rata memiliki banyak pengalaman di bidang jasa logistik. Alasan utama dipilihnya EMKL yaitu mendapat respon yang baik terutama perusahaan yang sering mendistribusikan barang ke tempat lain menggunakan jalur laut agar lebih efektif dari sisi biaya dan kapasitas barang.

Classification of transportation and forwarding costs

The scientifically-based classification of costs provides the formation of relevant information about the size, structure and content of the organization’s costs. The need to classify freight forwarding costs is due to the requirements of searching for reserves to minimize the costs of selling products (services). Increasing the cost-effectiveness is the most important management task. The classification of freight forwarding costs makes it possible to identify unproductive expenses in their structure and develop a system of management measures to minimize them, which will lead to an increase in profit and profitability. The existing methodological approaches to the management accounting of freight forwarding costs do not allow us to form a single scientifically based classification of these costs, to identify reserves for their reduction in the future. In this regard, the purpose of the article is to study the theoretical foundations of the classification of freight forwarding costs as an object of management accounting, identify the main problematic issues of cost classification and make proposals for its improvement. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was the publications of Russian and foreign specialists in the field of management accounting organization. The main research methods used in writing the work were the method of theoretical system analysis and the monographic (descriptive) method.

Methodological recommendations for the evaluation of freight forwarding services

Individualization of service is the most reasonable way to implement a customeroriented approach in freight forwarding services in conditions of intense competition. The article considers the structure and content of the main mathematical methods for assessing consumer loyalty. The necessity of developing an indicator of service individualization and its systematic use in the practice of organizations` activities for the growth of competitiveness is actualized. The conditions of application of the service individualization method in practice are studied. The systematic use of this indicator will allow an organization in the field of freight forwarding services to form partnerships with customers, increase their satisfaction and loyalty, and ensure a sustainable nature of interaction with customers in the long term. In this regard, the assessment of client performance indicators is the basis for the development of an organization’s strategy.

FORMALIZED SCHEME OF FUNCTIONING OF THE TRANSPORT AND FORWARDING SYSTEM

The article presents the development of a formalized scheme for the functioning of the freight forwarding system. Development is a description of the simulation algorithm of the system, in which all processes of freight forwarding company, based on the description of the scheme and the development of the modeling algorithm.

Permasalahan penyebab tingginya biaya pengiriman antar pulau atau propinsi di Indonesia, terutama untuk pengiriman barang adalah kualitas infrastruktur dan fasilitas pelabuhan yang tidak memadai, serta manajemen jasa angkutan darat untuk pengiriman barang yang di miliki oleh pelaku usaha. Kendala yang dihadapi oleh manejemen perusahaan dan pelaku usaha serta pengemudi angkutan barang adalah sulitnya memanajemen armada, biaya dan penjadwalan pengiriman barang dari konsumen atau client secara cepat dan tepat waktu. Pelaku usaha dapat menggunakan Less Container Load (LCL) untuk mengirimkan barang atau komoditi dengan jumlah kurang dari jumlah muatan kontainer, yang artinya barang dari beberapa perusahaan dapat disatukan didalam satu container untuk dikirimkan secara bersamaan untuk menghemat biaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tahapan studi pustaka, dan wawancara serta observasi lapangan. Studi pustaka dilakukan oleh peneliti untuk menemukan konsep metodologi yang sesuai untuk melakukan pengembangan Software Freight Forwarding Angkutan Darat untuk Pengiriman Barang Antar Propinsi. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengembangan ini adalah menggunakan SDLC Waterfall. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perusahaan jasa angkutan ini telah dapat meningkatkan proses bisnis dan pendapatannya secara signifikan serta kinerja operationalnya meningkat dengan lebih baik.
