The author shows how the breakthrough that took place in medicine, especially in surgery and anatomy at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, shifted to the perception of human corpses. Public autopsies and demonstrations of electroplating found their reflection in the literature, contributed to the development of painting techniques, but most of all within the reach of the desacralization of the corpses and changes in morals.

Abstract Tomb M1 at Quangou cemetery in Wulan, Qinghai, is the only Tubo-period tomb with mural paintings discovered thus far on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. The tomb includes a tomb entry ramp leading to a rectangular multi-chambered structure built from bricks and timber. The walls of the antechamber and burial chamber are all painted with various images heavily influenced by typical Tang painting techniques, displaying Tang-period stylistic influence, although painted subjects present characteristic scenes of nomadic life on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. The color-painted lacquered coffins in the tomb are the first of their kind found in the region, indicating that the tomb occupant must have been of high social status. There is a secret compartment behind the tomb’s burial chamber, where a wooden chest was found containing a luxuriously decorated gilt silver crown and a turquoise-inlaid gold cup. The findings suggest that the tomb occupant was probably closely related to the local royal family under Tubo’s sovereignty.

The perception of painting that started with the Turks, the Gokturks and the Uighurs was expressed mostly in miniature after Islam. There was a false perception that Islam imposed a ban on painting. Therefore, not much painting art was seen in the Ottomans until recently. There are mostly miniature paintings in the Ottomans. The art of painting has developed in the last periods of the Ottoman Empire. One of the most important representatives of that period was Şevket Dağ. She is one of the first graduates of Şevket Dağ Sanayi-i Nefise School. There are no foreign influences in Şevket Dağ's paintings. There are painting techniques in purely national characters. In the article there are five paintings depicting Turkish carpets. Five paintings in which the furniture and architectural features of the period are depicted together with the carpets will be emphasized.

Consolidation is a treatment of great importance for archaeological wall paintings due to their state of preservation, in which the lack of cohesion of the mortar and the pulverulence of the pictorial layer are common. The objective of this work has been to evaluate consolidation tests that have been carried out on decontextualized fragments belonging to five different wall paintings (from different periods and with differences in their state of conservation and in their painting techniques). For this, two of the most used treatments in consolidation of archaeological coatings, such as an acrylic resin and ethyl silicate, have been compared with two treatments that use nanoparticles, such as nanolimes and nano ethyl silicate, together with a bioconsolidation treatment used until present mainly for the consolidation of stone material: bacterial carbonatogenesis.
