The range query is one of the most important query types in spatial data processing. Geographic information systems use it to find spatial objects within a user-specified range, and it supports data mining tasks, such as density-based clustering. In many applications, ranges are not computed in unrestricted Euclidean space, but on a network. While the majority of access methods cannot trivially be extended to network space, existing network index structures partition the network space without considering the data distribution. This potentially results in inefficiency due to a very skewed node distribution. To improve range query processing on networks, this paper proposes a balanced Hierarchical Network index (HN-tree) to query spatial objects on networks. The main idea is to recursively partition the data on the network such that each partition has a similar number of spatial objects. Leveraging the HN-tree, we present an efficient range query algorithm, which is empirically evaluated using three different road networks and several baselines and state-of-the-art network indices. The experimental evaluation shows that the HN-tree substantially outperforms existing methods.

Information systems are defined as systems that consist of a group of people, data records, and some manual and non-manual operations. These systems generally handle data and information related to each system, and it can also be defined as a set of elements that overlap with each other to collect, process, store and distribute information on a specific topic. Systematically, in order to support the organization, control it, and the analysis, and form a clear current and future vision of the topic in question. Information systems are a group of programs that are used to archive, manage and organize data, and process them with specific procedures established according to the workflow mechanism in the organization, in order to obtain the final outputs. It is noteworthy that information systems are completely different from information technology, as information systems use information technology techniques which were created to serve its based business.

This study featured the geographic information system of the Kemerovo region (Kuzbass). The research objective was to determine the economic benefits of using various analytical layers of GIS Kuzbass. The authors reviewed the theoretical foundations of geographic information systems, as well as defined the main directions and advantages of their application. The paper introduces a detailed description of GIS Kuzbass and its effect on the local economy. The study involved descriptive, analytical, and comparative methods. Geographic information systems use multifactor information, which is constantly updated and systematized, thus making it possible to manage the territory quite effectively. GIS Kuzbass proved to be extremely effective. First, it can increase budget revenues of urban districts by increasing tax revenues from objects identified by the system. Second, it can increase budgets by obtaining fines for offenses detected by GIS Kuzbass.

Users of financial statements always rely on the results of audits conducted by competent andindependent auditors because the audits are carried out through quality processes and efforts. Competent and independent auditors are needed to obtain quality audit results. Because most modern information systems use information technology, the information technology audits become an important component in all external and internal audits. This study aims to examine the effect of auditor’s competence and auditor’s independence on the information systems audit quality. The research sample used in this study is external auditors working in public accounting firms in West Java. The statistical test instrument used is a multiple regression test. The results show that the auditor's competence has an effect on information systems audit quality, while the auditor’s independence has no effect on information systems audit quality.

The application of information system technology in a company or institution needs to be done, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a job. In this case study, Wikarta Mandala Hospital has not implemented information system technology for business process management that runs in the warehouse. Data collection on mutations of goods and recording of warehouse stock is still carried out using bookkeeping recaps. Data loss and delays in the compilation of warehouse reports, as well as errors when recording warehouse stock often occur. This will also affect the process of procurement of goods by the head of the warehouse and the warehouse officer must improve the report which causes redundant (double work). The warehouse inventory information system was created to minimize this. The development of information systems, use the incremental model to divide functional requirements into system modules. In this case, the application of additional methods is very helpful for resolving complex system requirements. In addition, the warehouse inventory information system also applies forecasting using the Double Exponential Smoothing method to predict the release of warehouse stock for the next period. With an alpha value (α) = 0.9 which results in a MAPE value of 0.29%. The resulting MAPE value <10% (less than) so that it can be categorized as good.

The article describes the features of the use of modern information systems in the activities of the department of higher education institutions. The essence of information systems and the tasks they can perform are revealed. The features of relational and social interaction are described. The basic components of the parts that form the internal information base are determined. The directions of the introduction of information and communication technologies in the management and educational activity of an educational institution are considered. The dependence of the information system effectiveness on the correct strategy for the development, acquisition and use of software products is determined. The article describes the ways of developing and developing information management systems in a higher educational institution It is proved that the information systems use is a prerequisite for the activity of a modern higher education institution, which will promote the adoption of sound strategic management decisions aimed at increasing competitiveness and creating an adequate and efficient infrastructure.
