The Recollects' arrival in 1848 impacted every aspect of life in Negros. Their enthusiasm, supported by affluent immigrants, contributed decisively to a climate of optimism and progress, placing Negros at the forefront of colonial provinces. Their evangelization effort converted countless unbelievers, settled later in new parishes. The Christian heritage of faith is deeply etched in Negrenses and settlers. The building legacy of Mauricio Ferrero, Manuel Gómara, Felipe Lerena—the cathedrals of Bacolod, San Carlos, Kabankalan—lives on. The pastoral work of Gregorio Espiga, Fernando Cuenca, Mariano Bernad is indelible in the annals of history. The educational apostolate in Bacolod, San Carlos, Valencia, Bayawan is reflected in their alumni in public service, business, and religious or priestly ministry. Forever we cherish the sojourn of Saint Ezekiel Moreno, Blessed Martín de San Nicolás, and Blessed José Rada, who touched the lives of our forefathers in Talisay, Binalbagan, and La Carlota.

ABSTRACTThe intertestamental period is a Protestant term, while the deuterocanonical period is a Catholic and Orthodox Christian term to refer to the time gap between the period covered by the Hebrew Bible or "Old Testament" and the period covered by the Christian "New Testament". Traditionally, this period is thought to cover about four hundred years, from the time of Malachi's ministry (420 BC) to the advent of John the Baptist in the early 1st century AD, a period that is almost the same as the Second Temple period (530 BC to 70 M). It is known by members of the Protestant community as "400 Silent Years" (400 Silent Years) because it is believed to be a time period in which God did not reveal anything new to His people. However, it is undeniable that in the intertestamental times there are many parts of history that are sometimes questioned and are being sought for truth. Because after all, even though 400 years of God's silence did not speak to humans, the world's history continues. Although the context is mostly in the form of ruling kingdoms. And religious history also continues, with a tradition built. Among them about the journey of the concept of the priesthood in tradition in Israel as the concept of worship for the Jews. The question which is still being debated and becoming a conversation is First, what are the duties and responsibilities of the high priest during the intertestamental period? Second, are priesthood rules in the Torah still enforced during the intertestamental period, or are there changes and adjustments?Through this paper, the author will give a little understanding of what happened during the intertestamental period in connection with the priestly ministry in Israel.

Is Jesus’ perpetual intercession for his people in Hebrews (Heb. 7.25) understood as a constitutive part of his atoning, high-priestly ministry? Nicholas Moore argues that Jesus’ act of sitting at God’s right hand is the decisive end of Jesus’ atoning sacrifice and so also of Hebrews’ Yom Kippur analogy. Among other points, I argue in response that Jesus’ ongoing absence from his people, status as high priest and current location in the heavenly holy of holies imply that Hebrews’ Yom Kippur analogy extends beyond Jesus’ act of sitting to include his present ministry of intercession. Not only were prayer and atoning sacrifice closely correlated for Second Temple Jews, Hebrews presents Jesus as the high priest who, in his resurrected humanity, is always also the sacrifice in the Father’s presence. Jesus presented himself to the Father once, but he is perpetually the high priest and sacrifice who ministers in God’s presence. For Hebrews, the Yom Kippur analogy (and so also Jesus’ atoning ministry) ends when, like the earthly high priests, Jesus leaves the heavenly holy of holies to return to and again be present with his people (Heb. 9.28). Only then will his followers receive the salvation for which they are waiting. Until that approaching day arrives, Jesus’ ongoing intercession with his Father ensures that his people will be saved completely.

The most recently published Directory for Catechesis addresses catechesis for the disabled within the totality of the Church’s pastoral ministry. The dignity of every person as a child of God, which is granted through the Sacrament of Baptism when a person is incorporated into the Body of Christ, is the basis for the Church’s pastoral care, which includes catechesis, of the disabled. The presence of the disabled within the ecclesial community and secular society is a gift, since such individuals enrich their environment and inspire others to perform good deeds. The disabled both receive and proclaim God’s word just as they also share in the priestly ministry of the faithful and participate in the liturgy. However, it is important for the Church to adjust how She ministers to the disabled in order to meet their personal needs and abilities and to adapt Her approach properly to apostolic activity, especially giving witness by living a Christian life.

The aim of the study is to describe the connection of the Christian Orthodox faith and medical surgical science in the personality of Professor V. F. Voino-Yasenetsky (St. Luke) in the Krasnoyarsk period of his life and activity. For this purpose, the author presents information on the total number of scientific works of Valentin Feliksovich on surgery, the volume of sermons delivered and recorded, and philosophical and theological works of Archbishop Luke. The figures show his large-scale surgical activity. The exceptional value of the surgeon Valentin Felixovich is shown. Voyno-Yasenetsky as a scientist-innovator in the field of military and, especially, purulent surgery. The prominent pedagogical role of Valentin Feliksovich in the training of scientists-doctors in Krasnoyarsk, who continued and developed the work of the Professor after his move to Tambov, was noted. Based on the recollections of eyewitnesses of his priestly Ministry and scientific and practical activities, convincing evidence of the harmonious Union of science and religion in the personality of St. Luke in the Krasnoyarsk period is presented. As a result, the author formulates a conclusion: the success of scientific and practical work of the scientist-monk in the deep rear in wartime was possible thanks to the synthesis of faith and science. It should be noted that the topic studied in this article is raised for the first time.
