Even though destination image is an important expression of discovering the local landscapes and place significance, the construction and measurement of destination image neglect the place component. This research explores the image of health destinations, as well as its representation mechanism, combining the triadic structure of tourism image proposed by Marine-Roig et al. with the theory of discourse power put forward by Michel Foucault, taking Bama, Guangxi as a case. In addition, this paper uses the IPA matrix to visually unveil the pronounced gap between the projected image by Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) and the perceived image of tourists and suggests strategies that DMOs should adopt in the different dimensions.

Tourists’ perceived image is the core of destination marketing. As an important niche tourist destination, the analysis of tourists’ perceived image of tropical forest parks has great value. This study takes the Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park as a case site and collects a total of 1,44,022 words from online travel reviews on Ctrip.com via the Python web crawler technology. Firstly, through high-frequency word analysis, we identified 77 core elements and a total of five image themes, which are attraction image, emotional image, service facility image, crowd image, and activity image. Secondly, building on Net Draw analysis, a network structure diagram of the tourist’ perceived image of the Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park is constructed. Finally, the overall network and individual network of tourists’ perceived image are analyzed. The results indicate that low overall network density is in possession of core and periphery. Guojianglong Cable Bridge, battery car, and glass path enjoy both high degree centrality and betweenness centrality. They also show significant advantages of structural holes. Therefore, they are on the top of the network. The academic and practical value of tourism image projection and development in tropical forest park is discussed.

This study was conducted to demonstrate the impacts of push and pull factors on tourist satisfaction and behavioural intention of visitors towards Can Tho City river tourism. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyse the data. Research data were collected by direct interviews with 235 visitors who have experienced the river tour in Can Tho City. The research has shown that push and pulls factors positively affect destination satisfaction. Besides, destination satisfaction promotes the return intention, willingness to pay, and positive word of mouth of visitors towards river tourism. The study proposes important implications to effectively use river tourism image of Can Tho City, thereby attracting both domestic and foreign tourists. These solutions may help improve the tourism industry of the city.

Tourism destination image perception aims to depict the urban tourism image from the perspective of the perception of tourists, which, therefore, sheds new light on the advancement and innovation of urban tourism. The model proposed in this study can effectively describe the image perception of a tourism destination, with its research conclusions providing a vital referential basis for the sustainable development of urban tourism. Combined with LDA, we construct the research framework of tourism destination image perception and then take the online comments of popular scenic spots in Wuhan on Ctrip Travel as an example. The results show that four aspects are included in tourists’ perception of the city image of Wuhan: experience, history culture, leisure service, and tourist destination. Among them, the social network of the experience dimension is most closely related. In addition, emotion analysis illustrates that tourists’ emotional tendencies tend to be positive under the four perceptual dimensions.

A good tourism image can significantly enhance the travel willingness and experience of international tourists. Most related research focused on the tourism image perception of world-famous cities, but research on the tourism image of North Korea is insufficient. We extracted text data from travel notes and reviews on Chinese travel websites. Subsequently, we used text mining and semantic network analysis to investigate Chinese tourists’ perception of the tourism image of North Korea. The results of the semantic network analysis show that tourism in North Korea consisted mainly of visits to the main cities and famous scenic spots, always with tour guides. Changes in high-frequency words indicated that Chinese tourists’ interest in North Korea’s history has weakened in recent years, and their interest in scenic spots and tourism products has increased. The results of the iterative correlation convergence analysis show that the topics relevant to tourists’ image of North Korea are composed of representative scenic spots, the Korean War, Kaesong city, the Pyongyang City, people’s lives, and other notable experiences. This research makes an empirical case for the study of tourists’ perception of the tourism image of North Korea and provides targeted suggestions for the sustainable development of North Korean tourism.

The assessment of tourist destination images should not only be the arrangement of multiple influencing factors. This study explores the complex causal relationship for tourist destination images based on a configuration perspective to enhance the overall tourism image using the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis method. The configurational paths for promoting tourism image can be categorized into two types and nine configurations in Shandong Province. Therefore, this study recommends augmenting the tourism image of the entire region with the logical thinking of “segmentation–integration” and “enhancing strengths–supplementing weakness” and finally realizing a sustainable tourist destination image.

This study aims to examine the effect of tourism image, experiential value, and satisfaction on the intention of revisiting the tourist area. The present study used associative analysis to ascertain the link between two or more variables. The study is being conducted in North Sumatera province, Indonesia, specifically in the tourist area of Lake Toba. The research population is comprised of an undetermined number of tourists that visited the tourist area around Lake Toba. The sample size of 324 was determined, which was obtained by multiplying the least number of samples by four or five questionnaire item categories. An accidental sampling approach was employed in this study, and data processing was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics and Smart-PLS software. The empirical findings indicate that although the tourism image has a significant and positive impact on experiential satisfaction, the direct effect of experiential value has a negative value on experiential satisfaction. Moreover, through tourism experiential satisfaction, experiential value has a negative value on intentions to revisit the destination. On the other hand, the indirect relationship between the tourism image and the intention to revisit through tourism experiential satisfaction has a positive value.
