<p><span lang="EN-US">This article presents the results of an investigation directed to analyze the teachers' perception about the implementation of the curricular design of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in the province of Chimborazo, Riobamba - Ecuador. The design that was selected was qualitative, developing the interpretive paradigm. As a sample, a total of 18 teachers were considered who during the 2018-2019 school year administered the subjects and core components of the International Baccalaureate. A mixed questionnaire was applied, the data was organized in matrices and content analysis was applied for its interpretation. As negative aspects, they reveal that their experience has been marked by insufficient training that is evident in professional training for the development of pedagogical activity, in attention to the international parameters assumed by the Ministry of Education when implementing this modality of baccalaureate. There is, as well, evidence of a lack of material resources (laboratories, internet access, specialized bibliography). As favorable aspects, there was found teamwork to achieve the objectives and the willingness of teachers to continue the program</span></p>

Prior research on the relationship between International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) scores and the university entrance exam scores is limited and varied to a great extent due to the conflicting results in the literature. This study investigates whether there is any relationship between the students’ achievement performance in IBDP and university entrance exam performance. The study revealed that there is no statistically significant correlation between IBDP scores and university entrance exam rank orders. Furthermore, the study showed that the IBDP scores cannot be taken into account as a strong predictor for university entrance exam performance.

This study aims to explain the relationship between student performance in the International General Certificate Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) as well as explore the predictors of the IBDP scores in languages, sciences, and mathematics. A purposive sample of 338 high school students was drawn from a private school implementing international programs in Turkey. The data consisted of external examination scores of students enrolled between the years 2010 and 2019. Data were analyzed for correlation and with a multiple regression approach. Strong, moderate, or weak relationships were found between the IBDP exam scores and the IGCSE exam scores with regard to the different subjects. From 4% to 65% of the variation in different IBDP subject scores can be explained by the simple linear regression model in different IGCSE subject scores. These findings will help international educators to make informed decisions about teaching and learning pedagogy in the international programs.

The purpose of this study was to explore 11th- and 12th-grade students’ expectations in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) at a high school in the Western United States. Study participants included 92 of 94 high school students currently enrolled in the IB DP. Each participant completed a researcher-created, paper survey with 24 questions, using a 5-point Likert-type scale, as well as four demographic questions. Overall, students reported high expectations and beliefs for the program in helping them prepare for postsecondary education. Findings also suggested that females experienced more stress and feelings of being overwhelmed, while enrolled in the program as compared with males, despite a larger percentage of females reporting of postsecondary plans. In addition, Spanish-speaking students aspired to community college more than their peers, suggesting possible disparities in equity. A discussion of these findings and their implications are provided.

FMV Erenköy Işık High School-Science High School Library is a place for learning that provides an environment for academic, social, cultural and personal development of all individuals who make up the school community. School library provides services to the school community through activities such as reading projects, symposiums, extended essay studies with International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) students and information literacy program with 9-science 1 class students.   Information Literacy Program includes 4 different sessions and based on Big6 skills. Literacy skills and digital citizenship, research steps, academic honesty and reporting processes provide students with the opportunity to improve their knowledge of literacy skills, which is one of the most important elements of 21st century competencies. Evaluation of the program was carried out by implementation some technological applications (QR code, kahoot), pre-test and post-test surveys.

This quantitative study was conducted at a private international high school.  The study purpose was to investigate United States college trends comparing International Baccalaureate Diploma Program candidates and International Baccalaureate Non-Diploma Program candidates from the same school in Asia.  Data was collected for the Classes of 2007-2012 and the two groups were compared based on the number of college acceptances and the eventual collegiate success of the two groups once they matriculated to college, as measured by college persistence and graduation rates. The information analyzed provides data to explore the final educational outcomes for IB graduates and determine if there is a significant difference in the college success of the two groups.

This article presents the results of the first Canada-wide survey on how university admissions personnel view the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) in relation to other curricula. The purpose of this study was twofold: (i) to move beyond anecdote and discover how Canada compares with universities in the UK and Australia/NZ, and (ii) to determine whether a dominant or hegemonic discourse surrounding the IBDP exists. Building on a small-scale pilot of perceptions in Ontario universities, the present study replicates two International Baccalaureate Organization studies (in the UK, 2003, and in Australia/NZ, in 2007) in the Canadian context. Results reveal a pattern of responses consistent with the previous studies—i.e., a confident positive general view, combined with uncertainty regarding specific aspects of the IBDP. Such widespread and consistent views suggest the existence of a dominant or hegemonic discourse surrounding the IBDP, constructing it as the standard of excellence in pre-tertiary education, which has important implications for publicly funded education in Canada.
