Purpose. Improving approaches and methods of calculation and design of energy-efficient sorting slides of railway stations, taking into account the mechanization of their braking positions based on the use of modern car moderators, including energy efficient structures. Methodology. The research was performed using the methods of the theory of bitter calculations in combination with the tools of mathematical statistics and probability theory. The assessment of the possible economic effect was carried out taking into account the technical and economic calculations on the criterion of the given savings of annual costs. Results. An estimate of the predicted value of the speed of the very good runner at the entrance to the brake positions when calculating their needs. An adaptive approach to the calculation of the required power of the 1st and 2nd brake positions on the descent part of the sorting slides is proposed. The condition of technological reliability and "survivability" of the system of control of speeds of movement of couplings at rolling down from a sorting hill is checked taking into account action of probabilistic factors. The economic effect of reducing the need for car decelerators for the braking positions of the slides, as well as energy efficiency of sorting complexes. Practical value. The obtained important scientific and practical results to substantiate the reduction of energy consumption and increase the energy efficiency of sorting stations can be used to develop new projects and to survey the parameters of existing sorting complexes, including non-mechanized slides.

Abstract Cold-formed structures are a separate type of metal structures and require more complex mathematical models in comparison with massive profiles. The development of main theories was described. A new type of buckling is also taken into account - warping, which is characteristic only of cold-formed bars.

The basic designs of Hydrogenerators are considered in the presented scientific work. It is shown that one of the most loaded units of Hydrogenerator is the thrust bearing. The analysis of the causes of emergencies in the thrust bearing unit of the high power Hydrogenerator is performed based on the experience of operation. Cause-and-effect relations of origin and development of defects are determined. Existing methods of calculation of the stressed state of the chambers of the thrust bearing unit in the classical formulation for the stationary mode of operation are considered. The main features of the thrust bearing unit operation with respect to the features of the sliding supports were studied. An updated Diagram of the sliding supports loading is presented. For the first time, the calculation of the elastic chambers of the thrust bearing was performed in three-dimensional formulation taking into account the physical properties of the oil, the material of the chambers and the unevenness of the existing loads. It is shown that the applied designs of SE “Рlant “Electrotyazhmash” can be used in high power Hydrogenerators in the entire range of operational loads without restrictions.

Purpose. The purpose of the work is to establish the real technical condition of transport structures made of corrugated metal structures on the basis of the analysis of scientific and technical sources. And to analyze the experience of operation of metal corrugated structures in the soil environment and to form and generalize the problems of ensuring the reliability and durability of structures made of metal corrugated structures in the conditions of operation on railways and highways of Ukraine. Methodology. To achieve this goal, a review of scientific and technical sources and regulations of different countries on the technical condition of transport facilities in Ukraine was conducted. In particular, data on the distribution of bridges and pipes made of corrugated metal structures by mode of transport are given. It is shown that the development and implementation of new technologies for the repair of existing defective pipes and small bridges, both on the railways and highways of Ukraine is a very important issue. A thorough analysis of the experience of operation of corrugated metal structures in the soil environment in different countries was conducted. Data on the main inadmissible defects of pipes and the reasons of their development are given. CMS' (corrugated metal structures) corrosion and other defects are given. A number of examples of overpass defects, collapse of bridges and structures with MCS in operation are presented. The qualitative indicators of metal corrugated structures, their advantages and disadvantages are also considered, the problems and the analysis of ensuring the reliability and durability of the structures with CMS in the conditions of operation on the railways and highways of Ukraine are formulated. Findings. An analysis of domestic and foreign scientific and technical sources on the technical condition of transport facilities in Ukraine was conducted. In particular, the experience of operation of corrugated metal structures in different countries of the world is studied and generalized. The analysis and synthesis of problems of ensuring the reliability and durability of buildings with CMS in the conditions of operation on the railways and highways of Ukraine. Originality. As a result of the analysis of the technical condition of transport facilities operated on railways and highways of Ukraine, it was found that about 15 % of transport facilities – small and medium bridges and culverts on Ukrainian railways and about 45 % of transport facilities on Ukrainian roads have unacceptable defects and require immediate repair and replacement. Also, it was established on the basis of research that there are no methods for assessing the load-bearing capacity of transport facilities with CMS in the presence in the body of the embankment of the railway or highway metal corrugated structures with a diameter greater than 6 m. It was determined that standards don't include regulations on design and monitoring of CMS on railway tracks. Practical value. On the basis of these data it was possible to offer directions of theoretical and experimental research and methods of calculation, tests of CMS and diagnostics of a technical condition of transport structures with CMS. In particular, the measurement of the impact of the environment on the bearing capacity of the CMS and the measurement of residual deformations of the corrugated metal pipe on the railway track. Execution of the analysis and synthesis of methods of calculation of transport constructions with CMS will lead to improvement of methods of calculation of CMS.

The architects working with the shell use well-established geometry forms, which make up about 5-10 % of the number of known surfaces, in their projects. However, there is such a well-known surface of rotation, which from the 19th century to the present is very popular among mathematicians-geometers, but it is practically unknown to architects and designers, there are no examples of its use in the construction industry. This is a pseudosphere surface. For a pseudospherical surface with a pseudosphere rib radius, the Gaussian curvature at all points equals the constant negative number. The pseudosphere, or the surface of the Beltram, is generated by the rotation of the tracersis, evolvent of the chain line. The article provides an overview of known methods of calculation of pseudospherical shells and explores the strain-stress state of thin shells of revolution with close geometry parameters to identify optimal forms. As noted earlier, no examples of the use of the surface of the pseudosphere in the construction industry have been found in the scientific and technical literature. Only Kenneth Becher presented examples of pseudospheres implemented in nature: a gypsum model of the pseudosphere made by V. Martin Schilling at the end of the 19th century.

AbstractWe developed a method for measuring in vivo venular volumes and the mean systemic filling pressure in the limbs using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). We aimed to validate the NIRS methodology by comparing two independent methods of calculation based on different physiological approaches. Pressure–volumes (P–V) curves were recorded following graded venous occlusion on the forearm. Values from a P–V curves analysis model (method 1) were compared with data derived from a resistor-capacitance calculation model (method 2) based on arterial pressure and venous compliance. We tested these methods on 10 healthy participants at rest and during exercise and on 6 severely ill patients. Results from method 1 were comparable with those calculated by method 2. Venular volumes calculated using method 1 correlated linearly with those calculated using method 2 both in participants (R2 = 0.98) and in patients (R2 = 0.94). A good agreement between methods was shown with few values out of the range of ± 1.96 standard deviation. Our findings added mathematical consistency for the NIRS methodology validation in the venular P–V assessment with no flow interruption. Further research will be required to confirm the relevance of the methodology in the clinical setting.

Abstract. Problem. In this article we offer the meth-odology of calculation, based on the idea of dismem-berment of vault on the separate archs of single width. It is recommended for the estimation of efforts in the designed and damaged vaults. Also offered a methods of calculation effort in serried vaults. As spatial inflexibility of cross vault below than inflexi-bility of serried vault, then it is necessary to execute the calculation of the cheek arch abstracted from the tray of cross vault also. If the outline of tray is exe-cuted on a circular curve, then it is possible to take methodology of calculation of archs with the outline of axis a curve as catenoid. Goal. The proposed methodology for calculating closed and cross vaults is also based on the idea of dividing the arch into separate arches of unit width. The results of studies of efforts and rational forms of arches of V.A. Kiselev [1]. Methodology. Calculation based on the idea of dismemberment of vault on the separate archs of single width. Recommended for the estimation of efforts in the designed and damaged vaults. A method over of calculation of dome is brought for determina-tion of effort in serried vaults. Results. At the choice of outline of axis of arch it is necessary aspires to that an axis, on possibility, coincided with the curve of pressure. Such outline of axis is rational, as there are only central forces of N in an arch. Flexion mo-ments M and transversal forces of Q are equal to the zero. The coincidence of axis of arch with the curve of pressure can be got for the three-hinged arch. For the statically undetermined arch of complete coinci-dence of axis with the curve of pressure attaining is impossible, so that the origin of flexion moments at any her outline is inevitable. Originality. The tech-nique based on the separation of flat elements from the spatial structure does not show the reserves of strength of the structure. Experience of long-term operation of vaulted structures designed or verified by calculation using similar methods [2], [9] shows caution and reliability. Practical value. The tech-nique is also suitable for assessing the strength of damaged vaults with collapsed corners or walms.
