Introduction: Generally, paresthesia are a pain or uncomfortable sense or abnormality feeling like a burned, sweating, etc. The symptoms can be temporary or permanent, an acute nerve injury will reduce risk of permanent paresthesia. Review: Paresthesia can caused by local anesthesia ( injection method), extraction of third molar, dental implant, endodontic treatment, and trauma. It can prevented by proper patient identification, treatment planning and procedure. The management of paresthesia are observation, Physiologic treatment (cryotherapy, electro-iontophoresis, heat-therapy, massage treatment or acupunture), pharmacology therapy (antibiotics, anti-inflamation, antidepressant, neurotropic group, and topical), phsychologic therapy and laser therapy. Conclusion: Using Laser for paresthesia are to accelerate and enhanced regeneration the nerve tissue. With low-level laser it wiil be e xpected to healing an injured nerve.

Review question / Objective: Shoulder pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder prompting many patients to seek treatment. Thermotherapy is a common treatment for shoulder which has been widely used in hospitals. But its efficiency has not been scientifically and methodically evaluated. This protocol aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Thermotherapy for treating shoulder pain. Information sources: Eight databases will be searched from their inception to October 2021. They are as follows: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials.gov, China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI), Weipu Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals (VIP), Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and Wanfang Database. There will be no limitation to study publication status or language. The search terms include shoulder impingement syndrome, rotator cuff, bursitis, adhesive capsulitis, frozen shoulder, shoulder pain, thermotherapy, diathermy, heat therapy, Moxibustion, and RCTs. The equivalent search words will be used in the Chinese databases.

Abstract Hyperthermia is an important means of cancer treatment which is called “tumor green therapy”. The clinical heat therapy heating sources include ultrasound, microwave, alternating magnetic field, infrared laser. However, it is still difficult to accurately measure the temperature of tumor hyperthermia and the dose of hyperthermia. Here, NaYF4:Er3+ nanoparticles were injected into a small part of isolated pig liver, and heated it with 1550nm infrared laser. At the same time, the laser excited the NaYF4:Er3+ nanoparticles to generate up-conversion green fluorescence. The fluorescence intensity ratio was used to measure the temperature of the heating part in real time.

Background: Port wine needs early age intervention, most effectively by pulse dye laser where about 40-45% improves only and by at least 75% after 5 to 25 sessions. Objectives: To try therapy of port wine stain in adult patients using flame of infrared light. Patients and Methods: Twenty adult patients with facial port wine stain were treated during the period from 2014-2017 years, 11 females and 9 males with ages ranged from 16-35 years with a mean of 25 years. After local anesthesia with 2% xylocaine, direct flame of infrared light that generated from heated red head of needle of diathermy was used. This light therapy was delivered with about 1-2cm away from the port wine and the time of exposure was decided by greyish blanching of the lesion, usually 1-2 minutes needed. Only one session of infrared was delivered. The response to therapy and according to the reduction rate was estimated as follow: 0-25%,>26-50%,>51-75%,>76-100%. Results: Immediately after session, there was edema, swelling. Reduction of erythema of port wine started immediately after infrared exposure and was obvious after two weeks and then slowly faded, with more improvement in the next few months. The reduction rate of port wine stain was ranged between 50-70% after only one session in 19 patients while one patient showed 25% reduction. It was noticed that, whenever the color of the port wine stain is dusky red with thickened nodular lesions, it responded quickly and better to this therapy. Conclusion: Infrared light heat therapy from diathermy needle was an effective mode of therapy in all adult patients with port wine stain. This new technique is easy to be used and non -costly procedure especially when compared with pulse dye laser.

Low back pain (LBP) is a leading cause of disability. It significantly impacts the patient’s quality of life, limits their daily living activities, and reduces their work productivity. To reduce the burden of LBP, several pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options are available. This review summarizes the role of superficial heat therapy in the management of non-specific mild-to-moderate LBP. First, we outline the common causes of LBP, then discuss the general mechanisms of heat therapy on (LBP), and finally review the published evidence regarding the impact of superficial heat therapy in patients with acute or chronic non-specific LBP. This review demonstrates that continuous, low-level heat therapy provides pain relief, improves muscular strength, and increases flexibility. Therefore, this effective, safe, easy-to-use, and cost-effective non-pharmacological pain relief option is relevant for the management of non-specific mild or moderate low back pain in current clinical practice.

This study was compared the effect of local heat therapy versus cold rub gel on pain and joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis. One hundred seventeen patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly assigned to cold rub gel, local heat therapy, and control group. Data were collected by knee injury and osteoarthritis outcome score at a week prior to the interventions and on weeks of 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the interventions. A significant difference was found between the three groups in terms of pain severity ( p = .001), joint symptoms ( p = .001), ADL function ( p = .001), Sport and Recreation function ( p = .001), except Knee related QOL ( p = .3). Cold rub gel and heat therapy were both effective in improving pain and joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
