Abstract In order to increase the detection accuracy of coal dust and reduce the maintenance of the coal dust concentration sensor, in this paper, the electrostatic sensor of the plate-ring detection electrode was developed for the detection of coal dust concentration. Through the establishment of the three-dimensional finite element model of the plate-ring detection electrode and the simulation results of COMSOL, the superiority of the plate-ring detection electrode was demonstrated, and the basis for the structure design of the plate-ring detection electrode was provided. The plate-ring detection electrode and the processing circuit of the tiny electrostatic induction signal were designed. Electrostatic induction dust concentration sensor with plate-ring detection electrode was developed. Experiments and data analysis proved that the 1.5-order central moment of the electrostatic induction signal had a high degree of fit with the dust concentration value. The mathematical relationship between the electrostatic induction signal and the dust concentration was determined. The detection error of coal mine dust concentration sensor based on plate-ring detection electrode did not exceed 10%.

Abstract A non-enzymatic glucose detection electrode that can operate in a neutral environment is a key technology for continuous glucose sensing. In this study, semiconductor micro-electromechanical manufacturing processes, precision micro-molding, hot embossing, and electrochemical deposition are integrated to fabricate Pt/Au nano-alloy electrodes for the enzyme-free detection of glucose in a neutral environment. The sensitivity of the proposed neutral enzyme-free glucose sensing scheme is measured to be 2.82 µA mM− 1 cm− 2 with a linear range of 1.39–13.9 mM and a detection limit of 0.482 mM. Further investigations in human serum confirmed the feasibility of the proposed Pt/Au nano alloy electrode in clinical application. This novel glucose biosensor possesses the advantages of technology foresight, good detection performance, and high feasibility of mass production.

AbstractThis paper presents computed dependencies of the detected electron energy distribution on the water vapour pressure in an environmental scanning electron microscope obtained using the EOD software with a Monte Carlo plug-in for the electron-gas interactions. The software GEANT was used for the Monte Carlo simulations of the beam-sample interactions and the signal electron emission from the sample into the gaseous environment. The simulations were carried out for selected energies of the signal electrons collected by two electrodes with two different diameters with the voltages of +350 V and 0, respectively, and then 0 and +350 V, respectively, and for the distance of 2 mm between the sample and the detection electrodes of the ionization detector. The simulated results are verified by experimental measurements. Consequences of the simulated and experimental dependencies on the acquisition of the topographical or material contrasts using our ionization detector equipped with segmented detection electrode are described and discussed.
