Catalytic noble metal (s) or its alloy (s) has long been used as the electrode material to enhance the sensing performance of the semiconducting oxide based gas sensors. In the present paper, design of optimized ternary metal alloy electrode, while the database is in pure or binary alloy compositions, using a machine learning methodology is reported for detection of CH4 gas as a test case. Pure noble metals or their binary alloys as the electrode on the semiconducting ZnO sensing layer were investigated by the earlier researchers to enhance the sensitivity towards CH4. Based on those research findings, an artificial neural network (ANN) models were developed considering the three main features of the gas sensor devices, viz. response magnitude, response time and recovery time as a function of ZnO particle size and the composition of the catalytic alloy. A novel methodology was introduced by using ANN models considered for optimized ternary alloy with enriched presentation through the multi-objective genetic algorithm (GA) wherever the generated pareto front was used. The prescriptive data analytics methodology seems to offer more or less convinced evidences for future experimental studies.

Ni-based alloy welding material has been widely used in the welding and post-welding repair of high-temperature materials. The effect of temperature on the cyclic stress amplitude of ENiCrFe-1 Ni-base alloy electrode was studied under the same strain condition. The results showed that when the temperature was lower than 400 °C, it presented the characteristics of cyclic hardening and then cyclic softening. When the temperature was higher than 500 °C, it presented the characteristics of cyclic hardening and then cyclic stability. The main reason is that with the temperature increase, the dislocation structure changed more and more stable. The results not only enrich the internal mechanism of fatigue behavior of nickel-based alloy welding materials, but also have important reference value for improving the structural safety of welded joints.

Abstract A non-enzymatic glucose detection electrode that can operate in a neutral environment is a key technology for continuous glucose sensing. In this study, semiconductor micro-electromechanical manufacturing processes, precision micro-molding, hot embossing, and electrochemical deposition are integrated to fabricate Pt/Au nano-alloy electrodes for the enzyme-free detection of glucose in a neutral environment. The sensitivity of the proposed neutral enzyme-free glucose sensing scheme is measured to be 2.82 µA mM− 1 cm− 2 with a linear range of 1.39–13.9 mM and a detection limit of 0.482 mM. Further investigations in human serum confirmed the feasibility of the proposed Pt/Au nano alloy electrode in clinical application. This novel glucose biosensor possesses the advantages of technology foresight, good detection performance, and high feasibility of mass production.
