This study aims to explore the teaching of creative writing through an indigenous perspective. This study used qualitative methods based on narrative interpretation and exposure. The respondents of this study were 40 students. Data collection techniques were conducted using creative writing, picking, and interviews. The data analysis technique consisted of three stages, namely pre-writing, writing process, and post-writing. The results showed that 77.5% of students answered very well, 17.5% answered well, 32% answered mediocre about the learning process of creative writing uses the perspective of indigenous psychology. Students’ responses related to the perspective of indigenous psychology that it makes someone easier to write: 32% of students answered yes, 0% answered no, and 68% answered mediocre. Students' responses regarding the perspective of indigenous psychology that it provides benefits to the learning of creative writing: 90% of students answered yes and 10% answered no. Students’ responses regarding the learning of creative writing that it is more easily using the perspective of indigenous psychology: 80% of students answered yes and 20% answered no. Indigenous studies are currently attracting humanities researchers, one of which is the field of literature. Literary researchers explore the locality contained in literary texts through the perspective of indigenous studies. In this regard, this study explored Indonesian literature through the perspective of indigenous studies. The theory used in this study was literary criticism associated with indigenous psychology and indigenous sociology. The data source used was the Rafilus novel written by Budi Darma. The research method used was qualitative because the researchers emphasized the interpretation of the text. Data analysis techniques included the stages of indexation, reduction, exposure, and interpretation. The results showed that the character Rafilus displays the psychological side of indigenous people of Java through segmentation: friendliness dan politeness in life, self-awareness in life, a simple life desire, and loves to learn.

Research on intergenerational learning delves into both the reciprocal transfer of knowledge and learning relationships between different generations. However, as this is an emerging research topic, there is a gap in the information available from various cultures. This paper aims to present intergenerational learning through the development of non-western indigenous psychology via the lens of Sikolohiyang Pilipino (Filipino psychology) in order to broaden the existing perspectives and understanding of intergenerational learning, engagements, and programs. By utilizing the theoretical framework of Sikolohiyang Pilipino, notably as espoused by Virgilio Enriquez, indigenous Filipino values are identified as key to understanding the predominance of family and community as venues and arenas for intergenerational learning in the Philippines. This underscores the importance of using the philosophical arguments associated with different cultural perspectives to challenge current assumptions and biases in intergenerational research and of being mindful when applying concepts that predominate in one culture to another. Additional intergenerational research in the Philippines will benefit from the inclusion of Sikolohiyang Pilipino as a theoretical framework since this will enable a deeper understanding of educational concepts within Filipino culture.

Relativitas merupakan kata kunci yang menggambarkan irisan antara psikologi ulayat dan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Paradigma pendekatan kualitatif mengapresiasi keberagaman dan subjektivitas realitas, yang oleh hegemoni paradigma kuantitatif (positivisme) dianggap kurang ilmiah dan kurang ajeg. Saya mengkritisi perkembangan kualitas dan kuantitas studi kualitatif pada artikel-artikel yang diterbitkan di Jurnal Psikologi Ulayat: Indonesian Journal of Indigenous Psychology. Pada periode 2017–2020, jumlah artikel kualitatif pada jurnal ini menempati posisi yang sebanding dengan artikel dengan pendekatan lainnya. Meski jumlah yang sebanding ini menunjukkan minat dan persepsi yang positif terhadap pendekatan kualitatif, namun masih ada beberapa ruang perbaikan yang perlu dipikirkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas studi kualitatif. Dalam catatan editorial ini, saya mengedepankan beberapa argumen yang menekankan pentingnya mengintegrasikan tradisi kritik untuk membuat studi kualitatif lebih bermakna dan holistik dalam menggambarkan realita yang dikonstruksikan subjek penelitian.

Abstract The Conception of Community Life in Petatah Petitih Minangkabau with The Indigeneous Approach. This study aims to identify the Minangkabau conceptions values as depicted in the petatah petitih Minang (proverb). This research examines Minang Proverb with the Indigenous Psychology approach. Qualitative research methods, describing, interpreting the concept of values in the Minangkabau community which is illustrated by the Minang proverb. The data collection technique used is desk research and interview. Sources of literature study are from the Minangkabau Adat textbook obtained from the Rumah Gadang Minangkabau pavilion in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta; the results of previous studies / research, and relevant information from online mass media. Online Interview was conducted with the Chief Advisor of the Bundo Kanduang Council Organization Advisor Solok City, West Sumatra. The results show that there are ten values or Minangkabau life concept which are contained in the Minang proverb which is inherent in the Minang identity, namely; hiduik baraka, baukue jo bajangko; baso basi –malu jo sopan; tenggang raso; loyal; fair; thrifty; watchful; braveness; wise diligent and humble. Key words: Minangkabau conceptions, Minang proverb, Indigenous psychology Abstrak Konsep Pola Hidup Masyarakat dalam Petatah Petitih Minangkabau dengan Pendekatan Indigenius. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsepsi nilai-nilai adat yang berkaitan dengan pola hidup masyarakat Minangkabau (Minang) yang tergambar dalam Petatah Petitih (pepatah) Minang. Penelitian ini mengkaji psikologi yang lekat pada budaya adat Minangkabau yang tertuang dalam Pepatah Minang dengan pendekatan Indigenous Psychology (Psikologi Indigenius). Metode penelitian kualitatif, yakni menggambarkan, menafsirkan konsepsi nilai-nilai adat pada masyarakat Minangkabau yang tergambar pepatah Minang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan cara studi kepustakaan (desk research) dan wawancara. Sumber studi kepustakaan adalah dari buku teks Adat Minangkabau yang diperolah dari anjungan Rumah Gadang Minangkabau di Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta; hasil kajian/penelitian sebelumnya, dan informasi yang relevan dari media massa daring. Wawancara dilakukan kepada Ketua Penasehat Organisasi Bundo Kanduang Kota Solok Sumatera Barat secara daring. Hasil menunjukan terdapat sepuluh nilai atau konsep pola hidup masyarakat Minang yang tertuang dalam pepatah minang yang melekat pada jati diri orang Minang yakni; hiduik baraka, baukue jo bajangko; baso basi-malu jo sopan; tenggang raso; setia; adil; hemat cermat; waspada; berani karena benar; arif bijaksana; rajin dan rendah hati. Penelitian bertujuan untuk memahami dinamika psikologis orang yang melangsungkan pernikahan pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian dengan pendekatan indigenous psychology ini melibatkan 266 subjek yang menikah pada masa pandemi. Data digali melalui kuesioner open-ended dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis konten. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa stressor berupa peluang penolakan akad nikah dan peluang penularan virus memunculkan dominasi emosi negatif (65,54%), seperti takut, cemas, dan sedih sebelum prosesi pernikahan. Guna meredam stressor tersebut, maka diterapkanlah protokol kesehatan yaitu memakai masker, mencuci tangan, menjaga jarak, menggunakan sarung tangan, membatasi jumlah tamu, serta mengecek suhu tubuh. Dominasi emosi positif (95,22%), seperti bahagia, lega, syukur, dan tenang terasa setelah pernikahan terlaksana. Mayoritas subjek (79,70%) puas atas prosesi pernikahan karena acara berjalan lancar, khidmat, dan sesuai protokol kesehatan. Penelitian berimplikasi pada urgensi kepatuhan semua pihak terhadap norma sosial serta adaptasi harapan personal, termasuk perihal pernikahan, di tengah situasi yang penuh ketidakpastian.
