An Unnoticed Hero of Pakistan's Independence Movement; A Case of Biography Mr.Naseem Hijazi

Purpose: In this article, Mr. Naseem Hijazi, a lesser-known hero of the Pakistan Movement, is highlighted. The primary purpose of this paper is to expose the hidden aspects of Mr. Naseem Hijazi's life. He was a well-known novelist and writer, as well as a freedom fighter. He was a member of the Pakistan Movement, but few people were aware of his involvement. He was a devoted Muslim and a firm believer in Islam. This research paper investigates and analyses the life of Naseem Hijazi to get a complete image of him. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research demonstrates that delving into individual biographies might provide a contextualized view of Naseem Hijazi's life, allowing for a complete picture of him. This study employed a qualitative content analysis method to examine Naseem Hijazi's biography during the Independence Movement. Findings: The finding shows that Naseem Hejazi had a passion for life that could enthrall any of his companions. During a radio interview, Syed Hashim Raza described his relationship with Naseem Hejazi, saying that the Muslim League was the only party working to establish Pakistan between 1940 and 1947. Naseem Hejazi was one of those who stood behind Quaid-e-Azam throughout those times and was respected by all. Naseem Hejazi, I believe, ran half of the pro-Muslim League propaganda effort in Baluchistan, while Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali ran the other half. Quetta's Pasban Fortnightly, June 15 (1939: 6). Implications/Originality/Value: In such a situation, history books about the Pakistan Movement should be rewritten to acknowledge Naseem Hejazi's work as one of the nation's benefactors.”

Poonam Mahajan is the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) Youth Wing and MP from Mumbai North Central. Poonam is a firm believer in the importance of organization, especially a party’s organization. Her father, Pramod Mahajan, was a general secretary of the BJP. She is unequivocal in her belief that the BJP’s strength is its organization and cadre. She is proud of how the organization looks after its members. Poonam’s main concerns are joblessness, infrastructural development (especially toilets), and ensuring that Mumbai remains an important global city, part of a global village where international influences and trends have a long-lasting impact. She balances the need for infrastructural development with environmental protection, Mumbai’s needs for green spaces, and her passion for wildlife preservation.

The Nature of Soul, or Is It Just Nature?

Gall wanted to develop a science based on what could be observed and felt—one devoid of metaphysics. Unlike Descartes, whose separation of the soul and the physical body was still very influential, especially among the faithful, he felt speculating about the soul was superfluous for understanding the mind and brain. He was a firm believer in the Great Chain of Being, and viewed humans not as having an “immaterial principle,” but instead as having a more highly developed brain than other animals. And rather than debating the unity of the soul or whether it is immortal, he chose to emphasize how specific behaviors could be affected by brain damage, maturation, cerebral atrophy, and the like. Gall’s faculties of mind helped humans and other animals survive and cope with everyday life, and he saw them as far more dependent on nature than on nurture. With this mindset, he felt able to account for both species differences and individual strengths and weaknesses. More than to anyone else, Gall was indebted to Prussian philosopher Johann Gottfried Herder for providing him with this philosophical orientation.

The Triangle of Empire:Sport, Religion, and Imperialism in Puerto Rico's YMCA, 1898–1926

In 1891, Luther H. Gulik, a prominent member of the international leadership of the YMCA of the United States, established the triangle as the YMCA symbol. He saw the triangle as a symbol imbued with Christian beliefs that would become the spearhead of a worldwide missionary movement. About the Triangle, Gulik wrote:The triangle stands . . . for the symmetrical man, each part developed with reference to the whole, and not merely with reference to itself. . . . What authority have we for believing that this triangle idea is correct? It is scriptural. . . . Such statements as, “Thou shalt love the Lord Thy God with all they heart and soul and mind and strength,” indicate . . . the scriptural view . . . that the service of the Lord includes the whole man. The words, which in the Hebrew and Greek are translated “strength,” refer in both cases entirely to physical strength.As the YMCA International Committee's first secretary for athletic work (1889–1902), Gulik had strong reason to create a symbol that could be recognized anywhere in the world. He was a firm believer in the expanding Muscular Christianity movement, which glorified patriotic duty and manliness expressed through athletics, and a strong believer in the civilizing agency of missionary Protestantism as it sought to establish a United States Christian righteous empire.

Conclusion

This chapter provides a summary of the book’s findings. The chapter argues that the geopolitical vision of a more restrained leadership role and more cautious global engagement Obama formulated was reflecting the post-American future rather than the hegemonic past of America’s role in world politics. It assesses that most influential scholars, pundits and policy makers in turn remained embedded in the Washington consensus of hegemony and mired in a unipolar worldview. The chapter identifies a further fracturing of the grand strategy consensus, between elite opinion and the foreign policy establishment denouncing ‘isolationist’ tendencies, and an American public increasingly in favour of non-interventionism and in acceptance of a less singular hegemonic role. The chapter briefly reviews how this conflict was also encapsulated in the contest for Obama’s succession between Hillary Clinton, a quintessential Washington insider and firm believer in America’s role as the world’s indispensable nation and Donald Trump, an anti-establishment populist that had aggressively questioned the elite consensus on US foreign and economic policy.

School Desegregation and Civil Society: The Unification of Alabama's Black and White Parent-Teacher Associations, 1954–1971

In early September 1956, Martha Rutledge—the president of the all-white Alabama State Parent-Teacher Association—released a statement to the press intended to clarify the organization's position on the Brown v. Board of Education decision and the desegregation of schools in her state: As president of the Alabama Congress, I am a firm believer in the Southern way of life. The entire organization of the Alabama congress is made up of people who believe in the Southern way of life. There is no organization anywhere that practices segregation more than the Alabama P-TA or an organization that will work toward maintaining segregation in our schools with any more force.
