With the increasing number of cars, the demand for vehicle maintenance lifts is also increasing. The hydraulic valve is one of its core components, but there are problems with it such as inaccurate positioning and failure. In order to improve the service performance of vehicle maintenance elevators, a novel annular multi-channel magnetorheological (MR) valve structure was creatively proposed based on intelligent material MR fluid (MRF), and its magnetic circuit was designed. The influence of current, damping gap and coil turns on the pressure drop performance of the annular multi-channel MR valve was numerically studied and compared with ordinary type magnetorheological valve pressure drop performance through contrast and analysis. The influence of different loads and currents on the pressure drop performance of annular multi-channel magnetorheological valve was verified by experiments, and the reliability of numerical analysis results was verified. The results show that the single winding excitation coil is 321 to meet the demand. The pressure drop performance of the annular multi-channel magnetorheological valve is 5.6 times that of the ordinary magnetorheological valve. The load has little influence on the regulating range and performance of pressure drop of the MR valve. Compared with the common type, the pressure drop performance of the annular multi-channel MR Valve is improved by 3.7 times, which is basically consistent with the simulation results.

In this work, we demonstrate the extraction of some optical soliton solutions of the Chen–Lee–Liu equation (CLLE) with applications in optical fibers. A novel method is presented which is called the new extended direct algebraic method (EDAM). This method is based on converting the nonlinear CLLE equation into an ordinary type equation through a wave transformation. We acquire new solutions like dark, bright, combined dark-bright, combined bright-singular and periodic singular soliton solutions by using this effective technique. These acquired soliton solutions are new with some new physical properties. Some graphical representations for these solutions are provided which prove that the new method is effective and can be extended to some similar problems.

Abstract Purpose The subclassification of adrenal cancers according to the WHO classification in ordinary, myxoid, oncocytic, and sarcomatoid as well as pediatric types is well established, but the criteria for each subtype are not sufficiently determined and the relative frequency of the different types of adrenal cancers has not been studied in large cohorts. Therefore, our large collection of surgically removed adrenal cancers should be reviewed o establish the criteria for the subtypes and to find out the frequency of the various types. Methods In our series of 521 adrenal cancers the scoring systems of Weiss et al., Hough et al., van Slooten et al. and the new Helsinki score system were used for the ordinary type of cancer (97% of our series) and the myxoid type (0.8%). For oncocytic carcinomas (2%), the scoring system of Bisceglia et al. was applied. Results Discrepancies between benign and malignant diagnoses from the first thee classical scoring systems are not rare (22% in our series) and could be resolved by the Helsinki score especially by Ki-67 index (more than 8% unequivocally malignant). Since all our cancer cases are positive in the Helsinki score, this system can replace the three elder systems. For identification of sarcomatoid cancer as rarest type in our series (0.2%), the scoring systems are not practical but additional immunostainings used for soft tissue tumors and in special cases molecular pathology are necessary to differentiate these cancers from adrenal sarcomas. According to the relative frequencies of the different subtypes of adrenal cancers the main type is the far most frequent (97%) followed by the oncocytic type (2%), the myxoid type (0.8%) and the very rare sarcomatoid type (0.2%). Conclusions The Helsinki score is the best for differentiating adrenal carcinomas of the main, the oncocytic, and the myxoid type in routine work. Additional scoring systems for these carcinomas are generally not any longer necessary. Signs of proliferation (mitoses and Ki-67 index) and necroses are the most important criteria for diagnosis of malignancy.

Purpose: To analyze different clinical and anatomical features in treatment-naïve non-exudative macular neovascularizations (MNVs) secondary to age-related macular disease (AMD). Methods: In this retrospective longitudinal study with a minimum follow-up of 1 year, 31 eyes of 28 consecutive AMD patients (mean age 75 ± 9 years) with treatment-naïve non-exudative MNV were enrolled. Patients were divided in: short-term activated MNV group (exudation before 6-month) and quiescent MNV group (per definition no exudation during a minimum 6-month follow-up) showing no or late activation during follow-up (persistently quiescent and long-term activated MNV group, respectively). Results: During the follow-up (mean duration: 22 ± 9 months) four eyes (13%) showed exudation before 6-month follow-up (short-term activated MNV group), whereas 21 eyes (68%) did not develop signs of exudation (persistently quiescent group), and six eyes (19%) developed exudation after the minimum 6-month follow-up (long-term activated MNV group). Monthly MNV growth rate was significantly higher in the short-term activated MNV group (growth rate of 13.30%/month), vs persistently quiescent MNV group (0.64%/month, p < 0.001) and long-term activated quiescent MNV group (1.07%/month, p < 0.001). Furthermore, at the baseline, perfusion density of short-term activated MNV group was significantly greater in comparison to persistently quiescent MNV group ( p = 0.001) and long-term activated MNV group ( p = 0.106). Conclusion: We reported two different patterns for subclinical MNVs: subclinical MNVs characterized by short-term activation which could represent simply a pre-exudative stage in the development of an ordinary type 1 MNV, and quiescent MNVs characterized by low rate of growth and possible long-term activation. Analysis of OCT-A features may predict short-term activation for subclinical MNV but no features could predict the long-term activation.

Abstract Background: Compared with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome(MESR), Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19) spread more rapidly and widely. The population was generally susceptible. However, reports on pregnant women infected with SARS-CoV-2 were very limited. By sharing the clinical characteristics, treatments and outcomes of 18 patients with COVID-19 during late pregnancy, we hoped to provide some references for obstetric treatment and management. Methods: A total of 18 patients with COVID-19 treated in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University were collected. The epidemiological characteristics, clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, chest CT and pregnancy outcomes were performed for analysis. Results: 1. 18 cases of late pregnancy infected with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia were delivered at 35 + 5 weeks to 41 weeks. According to the clinical classification of COVID-19, 1 case was mild type, 16 cases were ordinary type, and 1 case was severe type. 2. According to Imaging examinations: 15 (83%) cases showed unilateral or bilateral pneumonia, 2 (11%) cases had pulmonary infection with pleural effusion, and 1 (6%) case had no abnormal imaging changes. 8 (44%) cases were positive and 10 (56%) cases were negative for nasopharyngeal-swab tests of SARS-CoV-2. 3. Among the 18 newborns, there were 3 (17%) premature infants, 1 (6%) case of mild asphyxia, 5 (28%) cases of bacterial pneumonia, 1 (6%) case of gastrointestinal bleeding, 1 (6%) case of necrotizing enteritis, 2 (11%) cases of hyperbilirubinemia and 1 (6%) case of diarrhea. All the newborns were negative for the first throat swab test of SARS-CoV-2 after birth. 4. Follow-up to Mar 7, 2020, no maternal and neonatal deaths occurred. Conclusions: The majority of patients in late term pregnancy with COVID-19 were of ordinary type, and they less likely developed into critical pneumonia after early isolation and antiviral treatment. Vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 was not detected, but the proportion of neonatal bacterial pneumonia was higher than other neonatal diseases in newborns.

Solar energy is an ordinary type of renewable energy accustomed to produce electricity. However, the photovoltaic system may confront risks and uncertainties for operation. King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong campus (KMUTNB), situated in an area which is suitable for photovoltaic installation, plans to expand their alternative energy proportion. This research focuses on the design and economic feasibility of the photovoltaic rooftop system on the female dormitory. By using the System Advisor Model (SAM) program simulation, the total capacity of the panels is found to be about 198.23 kWp with a total electricity production of about 281.827 MWh per year. The economic results revealed that the photovoltaic rooftop system has the potential to produce electricity at a competitive price. The cost of energy is obtained for 0.1297 USD per kWh throughout the project’s life, meaning that the project would serve as a means of reducing 3,535.7327 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
