The article reports the amino acid composition of Nigerian beef jerky meat called Kilishi. Kilishi is consumed dry, hence determination was on dry weight basis. Sample was purchased in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. Amino acid values were highest for non-essential amino acid in Glu (14.3 g100g-1) whereas from essential amino acid it was Lys (8.69 g100g-1). Other high value amino acids were (in g100g-1): Asp (8.85), Leu (7.68), Arg (6.02), Ile (4.08), Trp (1.02), Cys (1.18) and His (2.40). P-PER1,2,3 values were superior at values of 2.52 – 2.70. EAAI1 (soybean standard) was 1.23 and EAAI2 (egg standard) was 94.5 with corresponding BV of 91.3. Lys/Trp was very high at 8.55 and Met/Trp was 2.38. Values of TNEAA was 52.1 g100g-1 (57.7%) and TEAA was 38.2 g100g-1(42.3%). In the egg score comparison Ser (0.461) was the limiting amino acid (LAA) with protein corrected digestibility value of 0.338; in provisional EAA scoring pattern, LAA was Val (0.882) and corrected version was 0.742; in pre-school children requirement, LAA was Trp (0.927) and corrected value of 0.780. Variation percentage values between the scores/corrected scores were virtually 12.2% per parameter compared. Correlation values between each score standard/corrected score values were significantly different at r=0.01 with values of 0.9997 – 0.99999. Estimates of amino acid requirements at ages 10 – 12 years (mg kg-1 day-1) showed kilishi to be better than the standards at 74.9% - 453%. Results showed that kiishi is protein-condensed.

Introduction: The present study aims to find the effect of instruction of negative marking in a self-coded MCQ examination on the performance of students in the subject of Pharmacology with respect to the raw score, correct score and negative score. Material and methods: This longitudinal study was conducted in the Department of Pharmacology, Rural Medical College, Loni. The Second MBBS students were exposed to a self-coded MCQ test twice by surprise. The first test (T1) was given without instructions of negative marking, while during the second test (T2) instructions for negative marking were given. The parameters of the raw score, negative score, corrected score and number of students who did not attempt respective MCQs were calculated. The number of students passing with modified Minimum Passing Level was calculated was compared with conventional Minimum Passing Level. Results: Sixty-seven students participated in the study. There was a statistically significant decrease in the raw score in the T2, while the increase in the negative score when compared with T1. The number of non-attempted questions was increased in T2. There was a statistically significant difference in the number of students passed with respect to raw score in T1 and T2, while no such difference was seen with respect to Negative score and Corrected score. Conclusion: The Corrected score and Negative score are not affected by the minimum passing level, indicating a better parameter of scoring than the raw score. Hence, the use of Negative score or Corrected score should be encouraged than the use of conventional Raw score. Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. This study aimed to determine the effect of measurement error of risk factors on the cure fraction of CRC patients. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted using the medical records of 346 patients with CRC, who were followed up between 2006 and 2017 in Shiraz, Iran. In our data, lymph node ratio (LNR) was a characteristic measuring with error. This variable was used in the model with 0.04 and 0.8 of error variance. Nonmixture nonparametric cure rate model and its corrected forms, simulation-extrapolation (SIMEX) and corrected score (CS), were applied to the data. Results: In noncured cases, the mean survival time was 1115.45 (95% confidence interval, 1043.60-1187.30) days. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates were 0.93, 0.71, and 0.65, respectively. The proportion of cured patients was 65.2%. The SIMEX method did not change the effect of LNR substantially on cure fraction as compared with the naive method when the variance of measurement error was 0.04 and 0.80. The CS method changed the effect of LNR on cure fraction even when the variance of measurement error was 0.04. Conclusion: The best method to assess the effect of LNR on cure fraction was the naive method, and the CS method was not deemed to be a valid method to correct the measurement error in LNR. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan: a) pengaruh interaksi strategi pembelajaran kooperatif dan jenis penyekoran, b) pengaruh utama antara dua model strategi pembelajaran kooperatif, c) pengaruh utama antara dua jenis penyekoran, dan d) pengaruh sederhana dari model pembelajaran terhadap jenis penilaian. Populasi target 923 siswa yang belajar kimia dan sebagai sampel adalah 52 siswa kelas XI yang terseleksi sesuai dengan penelitian ini di SMKN 26 Jakarta. Penelitian ini terbagi dalam 4 kelompok perlakuan yang berbeda selama bulan Oktober-November 2016. Untuk pengumpulan data digunakan instrumen 40 item tes laju reaksi (TLR) 6 tes laju reaksi yang lainnya merupakan tes formatif yang digunakan sebagai perlakuan pada tiap kelompok. Keduanya dikembangkan oleh penulis. Analisis variansi dua jalan (ANAVA) digunakan untuk menganalisa data. Post hoc comparison menggunakan analisis variansi satu jalan juga digunakan untuk menguji adanya perbedaan di antara ke empat kelompok perlakuan. Temuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah: Tidak ada perbedaan antara Jigsaw dan STAD pada hasil belajar kimia siswa. Ada perbedaan hasil belajar kimia siswa pada dua jenis penyekoran corrected score (CS) dan number right score (NRS). Hasil belajar kimia kelompok siswa yang tes formatifnya disekor dengan CS lebih tinggi daripada yang disekor dengan NRS. Ada pengaruh interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif dan jenis penyekoran tes pilihan ganda, artinya efektifitas jenis penyekoran tergantung pada teknik strategi pembelajaran kooperatif, CS lebih efektif jika menggunakan Jigsaw dan NRS lebih efektif jika menggunakan STAD.

Abstract In this paper, the influence of measurement errors in exposure doses in a regression model with binary response is studied. Recently, it has been recognized that uncertainty in exposure dose is characterized by errors of two types: classical additive errors and Berkson multiplicative errors. The combination of classical additive and Berkson multiplicative errors has not been considered in the literature previously. In a simulation study based on data from radio-epidemiological research of thyroid cancer in Ukraine caused by the Chornobyl accident, it is shown that ignoring measurement errors in doses leads to overestimation of background prevalence and underestimation of excess relative risk. In the work, several methods to reduce these biases are proposed. They are new regression calibration, an additive version of efficient SIMEX, and novel corrected score methods.
