The coupling between variables in the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems brings difficulties to the design of the controller. Aiming at this problem, this paper combines the particle swarm optimization (PSO) with the coefficient diagram method (CDM) and proposes a robust controller design strategy for the MIMO systems. The decoupling problem is transformed into a compensator parameter optimization problem, and PSO optimizes the compensator parameters to reduce the coupling effect in the MIMO systems. For the MIMO system with measurement noise, the effectiveness of CDM in processing measurement noise is analyzed. This paper gives the control design steps of the MIMO systems. Finally, simulation experiments of four typical MIMO systems demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Although the deployment and integration of isolated microgrids is gaining widespread support, regulation of microgrid frequency under high penetration levels of renewable sources is still being researched. Among the numerous studies on frequency stability, one key approach is based on integrating an additional loop with virtual inertia control, designed to mimic the behavior of traditional synchronous machines. In this survey, recent works related to virtual inertia control methods in islanded microgrids are reviewed. Based on a contextual analysis of recent papers from the last decade, we attempt to better understand why certain control methods are suitable for different scenarios, the currently open theoretical and numerical challenges, and which control strategies will predominate in the following years. Some of the reviewed methods are the coefficient diagram method, H-infinity-based methods, reinforcement-learning-based methods, practical-swarm-based methods, fuzzy-logic-based methods, and model-predictive controllers.

This research presents an automatic flight control system whose advantage is its ease of modification or maintenance while still effectively meeting the system’s performance requirement. This research proposes a mixed servo state-feedback system for controlling aircraft longitudinal and lateral-directional motion simultaneously based on the coefficient diagram method or CDM as the controller design methodology. The structure of this mixed servo state-feedback system is intuitive and straightforward, while CDM’s design processes are clear. Simulation results with aircraft linear and nonlinear models exhibit excellent performance in stabilizing and tracking the reference commands for both longitudinal and lateral-directional motion.

This paper aims to explore experimental studies on the NOx removal process by using pilot plant packed column experimental hardware. Physical modeling based on chemical absorption equations is used to estimate the diameter concerning the height and L/G ratio. Hydrogen peroxide is used as the additive for achieving high NOx removal efficiency. The absorbent entering into the packed column has been controlled by varying its flow rate through the fractional order controller. The FOCDM-PIλDµ controller tuning parameters such as KP, τI, τD are determined using CDM (Coefficient Diagram Method) PID control strategy and the additional parameters of FOCDM-PIλDµ controller such as λ and µ are determined based on the PSO algorithm. The comparative analysis is performed with classical controllers like ZN-PID along with the CDM-PID controllers.
