In the present study, the physical features of the bioconvective MHD flow of a couple stress fluid over an upper horizontal surface (i.e. surface shaped like a submarine or any ( uhsp) aerodynamical automobile) is analysed by considering radiation and viscous dissipation effects. In the fluid-saturated domain flow is induced due to the reaction of catalytic surface, double diffusion and stretching fluid layers. In fact, couple stress fluid is electrically conducted because non-uniform magnetic field is imposed. With the assistance of appropriate similarity transformations governing equations of the study are reduced to set of ordinary differential equations. Thereafter, built-in MATLAB solver bvp4c is implemented to solve the system numerically. By means of graphs and tables variations of the velocity, temperature, concentration, friction factor, local heat and mass transfer rates are observed thoroughly by varying the flow controlling parameters. From this analysis, main observations are, for rising values of couple stress and magnetic parameter velocity is decline, whereas temperature rises for the same parameters and increase in the thermal boundary layer is noted for the Brinkman number, whereas reverse trend is noted in the concentration boundary layer. Finally, comparison is done and a good correlation is identified between the present analysis and perversely recorded analysis.

We study the structural stability for the double-diffusion perturbation equations. Using the a priori bounds, the convergence results on the reaction boundary coefficients k1, k2 and the Lewis coefficient Le could be obtained with the aid of some Poincare´ inequalities. The results showed that the structural stability is valid for the the double-diffusion perturbation equations with reaction boundary conditions. Our results can be seen as a version of symmetry in inequality for studying the structural stability.

Cognitive training-induced neuroplastic brain changes have been reported. This prospective study evaluated whether microscopic fractional anisotropy (μFA) derived from double diffusion encoding (DDE) MRI could detect brain changes following a 4 week cognitive training. Twenty-nine healthy volunteers were recruited and randomly assigned into the training (n = 21) and control (n = 8) groups. Both groups underwent brain MRI including DDE MRI and 3D-T1-weighted imaging twice at an interval of 4–6 weeks, during which the former underwent the training. The training consisted of hour-long dual N-back and attention network tasks conducted five days per week. Training and time-related changes of DDE MRI indices (μFA, fractional anisotropy (FA), and mean diffusivity (MD)) and the gray and white matter volume were evaluated using mixed-design analysis of variance. In addition, any significant imaging indices were tested for correlation with cognitive training-induced task performance changes, using partial correlation analyses. μFA in the left middle frontal gyrus decreased upon the training (53 voxels, uncorrected p < 0.001), which correlated moderately with response time changes in the orienting component of attention (r = −0.521, uncorrected p = 0.032). No significant training and time-related changes were observed for other imaging indices. Thus, μFA can become a sensitive index to detect cognitive training-induced neuroplastic changes.

The current study focuses on the characteristics of flow, heat, and mass transfer in the context of their applications. There has been a lot of interest in the use of non-Newtonian fluids in biological and technical disciplines. Having such a substantial interest in non-Newtonian fluids, our goal is to explore the flow of Oldroyd-B liquid over a stretching sheet by considering Cattaneo–Christov double diffusion and heat source/sink. Furthermore, the relaxation chemical reaction and thermophoretic particle deposition are considered in the modelling. The equations that represent the indicated flow are changed to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by choosing relevant similarity variables. The reduced equations are solved using the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg fourth–fifth order technique (RKF-45) and a shooting scheme. Physical descriptions are strategized and argued using graphical representations to provide a clear understanding of the behaviour of dimensionless parameters on dimensionless velocity, concentration, and temperature profiles. The results reveal that the rising values of the rotation parameter lead to a decline in the fluid velocity. The rise in values of relaxation time parameters of temperature and concentration decreases the thermal and concentration profiles, respectively. The increase in values of the heat source/sink parameter advances the thermal profile. The rise in values of the thermophoretic and chemical reaction rate parameters declines the concentration profile.
