The minimum wage in Indonesia is one that is often discussed in the industrial world, this is because there are still some companies that implement a wage system that does not include a wage scale instrument, one of which is the period of work. So that it causes disharmony between old workers and new workers and can make internal communication not run smoothly.

The 2011 NFL collective bargaining agreement introduced significant changes to rookie compensation, including a rookie wage scale. We test if the new rules changed how sunk costs affect utilization for drafted rookies. Our regression discontinuity results show a robust sunk-cost fallacy that is similar in magnitude to the one documented under the previous agreement. Second-round selections play significantly less than their first-round counterparts, as measured by percentage of games started, total snaps played, and percentage of snaps played. However, the effect is not evident beyond the rookie season. Additional results show coaching success and coaching changes are important factors.

Significance The wage scale law was cast into question when a contentious tax hike law intended to fund it was annulled by the Constitutional Council on September 22, partly on the grounds that it should have been included in the annual budget. The government has operated without a budget since 2005; although the current coalition did manage to agree a draft 2017 budget in March, it has not been passed by parliament. Impacts Stability in southwest Syria could allow the beginnings of reconstruction, with some opportunities for Lebanese ports and contractors. Heightened conflict between Hezbollah and Israel would undermine growing investor confidence in Lebanon. The success of public-sector strikes could revive momentum in Beirut for protests against government corruption and poor service delivery.

This chapter examines the multiple roles that Philippine Protestant ethnic ministers such as Flaviano M. Santa Ana filled in Hawaiian plantation communities. Hawaiʻi's sugar plantations cut worker wages up to 20 percent due to the low value of sugar in 1921. Intracolonial Filipino laborers, who were already struggling to save enough of their salary to send monetary remittances to their loved ones in the Philippines, became upset at the change in wage scale and went on strike from 1924 to 1925. This labor stoppage, known as the Filipino Piecemeal Sugar Strike, was one of the largest Filipino labor strikes in Hawaiʻi, as well as one of the most legally aggressive reactions by the Hawaiian Sugar Planters Association during the first half of the twentieth century. This chapter considers how Filipino Protestant pastors at the Olaʻa plantation who were working for the Hawaiian Evangelical Association became middlemen for migrant laborers, sugar plantation management, and the Protestant church in the islands. It shows that these middlemen's positions of power were always tenuous and questioned by Filipinos.

This paper examines the relationship between teacher wage determination and the distribution of teacher skill-mix, based on recent Saskatchewan data. The authors argue that while centralized bargaining produces more uniform wage scale throughout the Province, it does not necessarily lead to the uniform distribution of teacher skill-mix among municipalities which is one of the most important conditions for the achievement of equality in the provision of educational services ; rather, it is the ability to pay of the individual school boards which has crucial bearings upon the composition of teacher skill-mix.
