Preparing graduates for the present and future workforce is an important strategic learning and teaching goal of higher education. Towards realizing this goal, institutions are expending significant effort promoting active learning as an institution-wide teaching approach. Active learning defined as learners deeply participating in the learning process are being increasingly used in face-to-face contexts, but can it be used just as effectively in the online environments now common in higher education? In their 2017 paper, the authors established that active learning online is certainly possible. In this current article the authors assert that not only is active learning online possible, but that it is a necessity to bolster workforce and higher order thinking skills needed in this current century. Importantly, the faculties have a crucial role to play in implementing active learning online, and active learning online permeate the whole of the online learning experience within courses.

The current century has witnessed a revolution in different fields which required some legal rules to be reformulated to adapt with the volume of challenges imposed by the contemporary life on marriage life in general, on the children, which are the most important thing that may result from marriage, and on the importance of caring for their needs. As God has divided the parents’ duties in caring for their children throughout the stages of their liv.es. He laid upon the mother the responsibility of caring for children starting from pregnancy, delivery, breastfeeding until infancy. While He, especially, assigned the father the responsibility of what comes after. But sometimes a child may lose one or both parents; and here the question arises about who shall take custody and what is the period required to satisfy that right. Article (57) of Personal Status Law No. (188) for the year 1959 has answered this question with its nine clauses and confirmed the necessity of caring for the child’s best interest and prioritizing it over the parents’ rights. However, the Iraqi Parliament has adopted an amendment of this Article in its latest proposals under the pretext of being in line with changes of everyday life with the assurance of applying the spirit of Islamic Law. It discussed the transmission of the child’s custody from the mother to the father after the age of seven in opposition to the current law that grants the mother this right until the child turns fifteen years of age; it also stipulated that the mother shall not get married in order to attain custody over the child which is regarded as a Statutory Offence represented in forcing the mother not to get married during which she holds custody over the child. Meanwhile, it did not stipulate over the father abstinence from marriage in order to attain custody over his children. The amendments have also showcased the entitlement of the grandfather’s right in custody rather than the mother in case the father died or didn’t fulfill the conditions of custody. By doing so, the rule would deprive the mother from her child upon turning seven years of age without attention being paid to the subsequential feeling of instability such decision causes to the child. The parliament should have tried to balance between the child’s right of maternal tenderness or paternal security. This is the aim of our research which will shed light on this subject in two scopes, the first of which focuses on educating the people of the right of custody and its period, and the second of which is dedicated to discussion of amendments and making proper recommendation.

The study presents an investigation of current and future changes in precipitation regime over territory of Belarus. An assessment of precipitation means and extremes and droughts indices was provided for period of 1948–2019 and more detailed analysis have been carried out for period of climate change in 1989–2019. The precipitation expected changes were studied for period of 2021–2099. It was established that precipitation growth up to 20–30 % in winter during 1989–2019 in comparison by 1948–1988, is connected with increase the number of days with weak precipitation and caused by growing duration of liquid precipitation falling. In summer the reducing of rain falling duration was noticed over territory of Belarus. At the same time the significant growth of precipitation maximal totals per day by 20–30 % was detected. The largest growth was found in the south of the country. Dry days number raised by 1–4 days and dry and hot days numbers raised by 1–2 days per decade. The repeatability of atmosphere droughts of different gradations increased up to 2–26 % by the majority of meteorological stations. According to climate projections based on the EURO-CORDEX-11, the growth of yearly and seasonal precipitation is expected over territory of Belarus. The precipitation increase is connected with growth of intense precipitation. At the same time, the dry periods duration is projected to rise in the warm part of the year. These tendencies are characterised the climate extremeness increase in the current century.

AbstractThis chapter concludes the volume. It first sums up the main interests at stake regarding the institutionalisation of political science as an academic discipline. It then analyses the key findings and unresolved questions concerning the growth of the discipline at the turn of the current century in Central and Eastern Europe. It also examines possible harbingers of political science’s deinstitutionalisation within the region.

This paper gives an overview of some recent full-scale demonstrations of morphing devices capable of providing innovative capabilities to general systems in changing shape and improving performance significantly during operations. In aeronautics, large progress has been observed over the last few years, meaning that this technology is rapidly transitioning from laboratory scale to high TRL demonstrators. The most advanced concepts already proved to withstand loads with minimal deformation while having the capability to change their geometry to attain additional benefits with respect to their original mission. In the same way, robotics has become one of the most prominent technological trends of the current century. The rapid increase in their use and development has significantly changed our society by gradually replacing a large share of human jobs. Such an evolution is also rapidly accelerating, as technological advances in automation, engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning converge. Since both domains involve the integration of actuators, sensors and controllers and face integrity challenges in harsh environments, they may be seen somehow related and probably share a common future. In this article, the authors propose an original view of a possible future scenario that is likely to consider a unique development path for research on adaptive structures and robotics.

Learning in the listening aspect is still difficult for middle and upper level students. This is a consequence of weak vocabulary, structure, and speaking skills. Comprehensive listening skills are often complained by some students. It needs improvement and learning innovation in the current century. This study aimed to determine whether there was an increase in learning outcomes after utilizing youtube as a learning media, how big the impact was and how the learning process using you tube media was. This study used an experimental method of pretest and posttest only. Respondents were 35 students of SMP Alikhlas class VI Bekasi. The data were taken from the test before and after being given treatment using YouTube media. The data were processed with SPSS 20 and then tested for normality and homogeneity first, then processed using a paired sample test. The results showed that there was an increase of 12.2941. The use of youtube improved listening skills. Utilizing Youtube included looking for material/information, watching and listening to material, analyzing and distributing material to students and teachers. The recommendation was that teachers could try to provide the widest possible time and space for students to improve their abilities independently, including using YouTube in learning. Consistent evaluation and supervision is the key to the success of learning using youtube media.

Abstract Numerical Methods have attracted of research community for solving engineering problems. This interest is due to its practicality and the improvement of highspeed calculations done on current century processors. The increase in numerical method tools in engineering software, such as Matlab, is an example of the increased interest. In this paper, we are present a new improved numerical integration method, that is based on the well-known trapezoidal rule. The proposed method gives a great enhancement to the trapezoidal rule and overcomes the issue of the error value when dealing with some higher order functions even when solving for a single interval. After literature review, the proposed system is mathematically explained along with error analysis. Few examples are illustrated to prove improved accuracy of the proposed method over traditional trapezoidal method.

Abstract Numerical modeling of time series of observations of Yakutsk meteorological station was used for the first time to construct a model of heat and moisture climate variability over the course of a century cycle of solar activity (SA). The lag of precipitation relative to temperature for ¼ of the rhythmic wave was revealed. Consecutive change of climatic phases: cold-wet (CW) warm-wet (WW), cold-dry (CD) and warm-dry (WD) has been established. The nonlinearity of the solar-tropospheric relations at level of intra- and secular oscillations is confirmed. The trends and anomalies of climate changes and permafrost response for the next decades and the current century as a whole are determined.

AbstractCancer burden is increasing worldwide in the current century, and given that its management paradigm is associated with tremendous financial, social, and physiologic complications, it is imperative that nations prepare themselves for a comprehensive management program. The developed countries are barely able to cope up with the exponential increase in the cancer-related services, and the current situation in developing countries, that is, low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) is much worse. Here, we present a general guidance for establishment of a comprehensive cancer care program, delineating the current challenges and some suggestions/recommendations to overcome the obstacles in LMICs. We touch upon the major themes related to cancer care which include (1) medical services, data, and infrastructure, (2) human resources issues, (3) quality management and access to care, and (4) the public heath crises with respect to cancer. We hope that this chapter offers practical guidance to the private and public stakeholders to alleviate the current burden of cancer-related suffering.
