Information technology-acceptance research has always been a research hotspot. In 2003, Venkatesh established the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), which pushed information technology-acceptance research to a new climax. This study uses bibliometrics, Bibliometrix, and CiteSpace software to conduct data mining and quantitative analysis on 1694 research papers in the UTAUT in the Web of Science core collection database from 2003 to 2021 (the data update time is 13 August 2021). Combined with a visual bibliometric analysis, this paper makes an in-depth discussion on the UTAUT model from the aspects of research trends, research fields, main research journals, authors/institutions, national or regional cooperation networks, etc. This study comprehensively and systematically shows the evolution track and characteristics of the UTAUT. On this basis, the future development trend of the UTAUT is put forward.

Abstract Lovina Beach is a famous tourist attraction on the northern island of Bali. This beach is somewhat unique because it has an exciting dolphin viewing attraction. However, some lack elements on-site reduce the value of beach tourism, such as unattractive design, many idle facilities, empty spaces, and puddle. This study aims to analyze and redesign the beach based on landscape engineering to overcome sustainability. The design stage consists of project acceptance, research and analysis, design, and construction drawings combined with the scoring system of the hydro-oceanographic analysis. The analysis aimed to identify the value of coastal vulnerability indexes. The results of this study are site plan concepts, perspective drawings, cut images, planting plans, and detailed engineering designs, which is formed on the results of analysis and synthesis, and preferences score. The design of this coastal waterscape will be used as a recommendation to the beach management.

Edible insects are natural resources that provide foodstuff to numerous ethnic groups in rural India. In spite of the dietary and ecological repayment, the consumption of insects is still restricted to a limited number of countries globally. Apart from the establishment of consumer acceptance, research is necessary to develop sophisticated and automatise cost-effective production of insect products. Insects have massive prospects as feed. As the protein feed ingredients are becoming expensive, several studies are in progress to establish insects as feed in the Indian market. Insect food and feed industry could be a proficient approach to consign the cost of living for the price-sensitive customers. Cross-linking between the industries and the farmers would be helpful for boosting the production rate of insect products. Extensive and systematic study of the edible insects would be desirable to ascertain food security and elude possible risks.

Target Audience Personas (TAP) is a new target audience study method for the graphic design process which adopted from the user personas in information studies. The goal of the TAP is to facilitate graphic designer to understand the behaviour and attitude of their target audience in a more profound level to create design outcomes which can evolve the affordance and behavioural change. Personas allow designer engaged in empathy process whereby they can design according to the needs and preferences of the target audiences. In order to explore the acceptance of designers to the TAP in the design process, acceptance research based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was conducted.  A group of design students who engaged TAP in their design projects has participated in the study. The result showed that majority of the students consider TAP is useful and easy to use. They anticipate using TAP in their future design career endeavour.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to evaluate eTourism technology acceptance literature to illustrate current gaps in the field and suggest two alternative perspectives that could be adopted. Design/methodology/approach A review of academic literature in the field of eTourism technology acceptance was undertaken combining a systematic keyword-based search and snowballing techniques leading to the identification of relevant academic journal articles published since the year 2000. Findings While the field of eTourism technology acceptance research has grown substantially over the past few decades, this study highlights that the majority of this research seems to have been conducted within a narrow theoretical scope. The study suggests that this has led to contemporary theoretical and philosophical advancements in understanding the psychological, sociological and neuroscientific aspects of consumer behaviour not yet being mirrored in the eTourism technology acceptance research. Research limitations/implications This study invites researchers to adapt alternative theoretical perspectives to create a more in-depth understanding of aspects of technology acceptance behaviour that have yet to be understood. Two distinct alternative perspectives, NeuroIS and interpretivism, are suggested. Practical implications This study assists researchers in developing alternative research agendas and diversifying the theoretical foundations of eTourism technology acceptance research. Originality/value eTourism technology acceptance research risks being left behind if it does not begin to think beyond current theoretical conceptions of consumer behaviour research. This study contributes to the wider literature by highlighting how eTourism literature is falling behind and by suggesting two innovative alternatives that allow eTourism research an exciting way forward.

In this article we define a new technology acceptance research model which considers the comparison of two technology solutions that an individual can use. The model estimates the usage of the observed solution based on the cost of switching from the reference solution (typically a standard or older solution) to the observed solution, considering the fact that the cost of switching is caused by a difference of facilitating conditions, habit and the intention to use between the reference and observed solutions. For evaluation purposes, we observed the costs of switching from teletext use to the use of the electronic programme guide (EPG on the subset of n = 82 respondents and interpreted 77.2% of the variance, which demonstrates the high quality of the model. Evaluation results indicate that the primary obstacle to switching from teletext to EPG usage arises from the individuals’ perception whether they have more or less of the necessary resources to use the EPG in comparison to the resources they have at their disposition in case of teletext use, and the second ranked switching cost is caused by a difference in habit.
