Abstract With the acceleration of fintech innovations, the use of alternative payment methods has continued to increase globally. Generation Z and Y consumers are the highest adopters of these alternative payment methods, yet despite this, there is limited research examining their motivations and intentions for using alternative payment methods. This literature review aimed to address this gap through the evaluation of relevant quantitative empirical research by utilizing The Unified Theory of Technology Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) for its theoretical. The findings indicated that generation z and Y consumers adoption of alternative payment methods are driven largely by behavioural intention, wherein using the UTAUT model, finds a common positive effect across all five variables. Nevertheless, current literature fails to address how Covid-19 restrictions influenced this adoption and as such further primary research post-lockdown is recommended.

Shared parking has become the most effective way to utilize existing parking resources. Little attention has been focused on drivers’ intention to use shared parking spaces in residential areas considering individual heterogeneity. To fill this gap, this paper explores the influencing factors and mechanism of shared parking use intention (SPUI) and further studies the preferences for the shared parking of different types of drivers. Firstly, based on the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology that includes psychological factors, personal attributes, and travel characteristics, the multiple indicator multiple cause (MIMIC) model was employed for parameter estimation and model assessment. Secondly, using MIMIC’s output results as input variables, the segmentation method of the latent class model (LCM) was adopted to explore drivers’ preferences regarding SPUI. Finally, a quantitative study was carried out through questionnaire data. The empirical results show that: (a) the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology has good explanatory power for SPUI. SPUI is directly affected by perceived risk (PR), behavioral habit (BH), social influence (SI), facilitating conditions (FCs), and effort expectancy (EE), while performance expectancy (PE) have no significant effect on SPUI. In addition, some factors of personal attributes and travel characteristics affect SPUI through psychological factors. (b) According to individual heterogeneity, the surveyed driver groups are divided into four segments: sensitive type (36%), conservative type (29.6%), neutral type (24.5%), and approved type (9.9%), respectively. There are significant differences in psychological observation variables such as EE, PE, FC, and SI among the four segments of drivers. According to the influence mechanism of psychological factors and preferences analysis of different types of drivers, the shared parking promotion strategy can be formulated from the aspects of management, operation, and technology.

Mobile money services give trade benefits such as bill payment, decreased transaction costs and time, expanded savings possibilities, sales, and convenience. Despite the benefits, traders in Uganda are still slow to adopt and use mobile money services. This article reflects on the findings of a study that looked at the barriers that merchants experience while utilizing and implementing mobile money services in Uganda. A self-administered questionnaire was utilized to obtain data from 394 survey respondents. A model for encouraging traders to use mobile money services is offered. The suggested model expands on the Unified Theory of Technology Acceptance and Use. According to regression study, performance expectancy, social factors, and sensitization components all have a substantial impact on the behavioral intention of mobile money service uptake for trade. On the other hand, security and effort expectation had no significant affect on traders' behavioral intention to use mobile money services. Furthermore, the data show that enabling conditions affected the utilization of mobile money services for commercial transactions. The suggested approach is adaptable and generic, and it may be used in other developing nations with comparable circumstances to Uganda.

We inspect client premium in the utilization of the Mandiri Syariah Mobile application as a type of improvement in the computerized world at one of the Islamic banks in Indonesia. The reason for this review was to decide the impact of control (age, sex, and experience) on the connection between free factors (execution assumptions, exertion, impact of social beliefs, assistance conditions, decadent inspiration, value esteems ??, and propensities) on the reliant variable (conduct expectations and conduct). utilization conduct) which alludes to the Unified Theory Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) II model. The technique is a quantitative methodology with an informative examination plan that intends to clarify the factors to be considered and the impact between one variable and another. Social conditions, assistance conditions, indulgent inspiration, value esteems ??, propensities with conduct expectation factors. Given the consequences of the examination, execution assumptions have the most significant relationship, precisely 43.2% on social goals. Subsequently, this review proposes that before expanding the connection between social aims to utilize conduct, PT Bank Syariah Mandiri needs to reinforce the impact of the seven factors on social goals.

Under the background of global cross-border mobile commerce (m-commerce) integration, the importance of cross-border payment research is becoming increasingly prominent and urgent. The important value of this study is to empirically research the influence power of key elements in using two different mobile payment (m-payment) platforms in Korea. The extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) has been widely applied in various studies because of its strong interpretive power. In Korea, there are a few empirical studies on Chinese users. Based on a survey of 908 Chinese participants (486 WeChat Pay’s Chinese users and 465 Kakao Pay’s Korean users) in Korea, this study is one application extending UTAUT2 by incorporating multi-group and multi-model constructs: UTAUT2, information system success (ISS) model, and an initial trust model (ITM), considering a multi-group analysis with some mediating variables (payment difference). By comparing the two different payment platforms’ characters, this manuscript provides a set of targeted measures to ensure Chinese WeChat Payment platform decision-makers create effective long-term strategic policies for cross-border m-payments in Korea, and eventually, benefit cross-border m-commerce and economic cooperation in Southeast Asia.

Concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) members have been widely used in industrial structures and high-rise residential buildings. The multi-cell composite L-shaped concrete-filled steel tubular (ML-CFST) cross-section, as an innovative, special-shaped structural arrangement, may solve the issue of normal CFST members protruding from walls and result in more usable interior space. Currently, no design rules are available for the application of ML-CFST members. One of the primary objectives of the present study is to develop recommendations in line with the unified theory to evaluate the bending moment resistance of ML-CFST beams. According to the unified theory, the bending moment resistance of an ML-CFST beam is related to the compressive strength (fsc) and the flexural strength index (γm) of a composite section, in which the accuracy of γm and fsc are affected by a confinement effect factor (ξ). Nevertheless, the original expression of ξ is not suitable for ML-CFST sections, since the appreciable effect of the irregular shape on confinement is neglected. Considering the cross-sectional geometry and boundary conditions of the cells, an equivalent shape factor to modify the confinement effect was proposed in this study through dividing the infill concrete into highly confined areas and less confined areas. An adequate formula to calculate the fsc and an approximate expression of γm for the ML-CFST sections was then developed. Furthermore, four-point bending tests on eight specimens were carried out to investigate the flexural performance of the ML-CFST beams. Lastly, the proposed formulas were assessed against experimental and numerical results. The comparisons show that the proposed unified theory-based approach produced accurate and generally conservative results for the ML-CFST beams studied.

This chapter explores the potential of work-oriented social media (WOSM) platforms for generating innovative ideas. A case study of a single WOSM platform, focused on innovation, is analysed from the perspective of features influencing adoption. The features are examined using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) framework. Primary research was conducted through a study on the use of a WOSM platform called Brightidea to promote crowdsourced innovation. The work included investigation of features that influenced adoption and usage of the platform. Additionally, the potential for domain-crossing innovation was explored through data analysis of ideas on the platform. The study was built on data collected from a survey of employees of Kerpoc (a pseudonym), a large company in the oil and gas (O&G) sector, and interviews with Kerpoc staff. The chapter concludes that although the business value of the platform may have been below expectations, its social media-like features were positively viewed by users and facilitated discipline crossing.

Social commerce (SC) became a major channel for conducting business as a result of the ban adopted by many countries because of Covid-19 era. The simplicity of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and use of Technology (UTAUT) and its extended version (UTAUT2) invites researchers to explore other options that can yield better explanation of the adoption of SC. This study extended the UTAUT2 with perceived value, trust and a SC related construct. In addition, the study re-structured the UTAUT2 to fit with SC environment. The study utilized 463 surveys distributed in Qatar, and analyzed the data using SEM. Results fully supported the proposed model, where trust, perceived value, facilitating conditions, and hedonic motivation significantly predicted behavioral intentions with an R2 value equal to 72%. The model supported the role of performance expectancy and SC constructs in predicting perceived value, and the role of effort expectancy and habit in predicting hedonic motivation.

Abstract We investigate the options for imposing flavor symmetries on a minimal renormalizable non-supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theory, without introducing additional flavor-related fields. Such symmetries reduce the number of free parameters in the model and therefore lead to more predictive models. We consider the Yukawa sector of the Lagrangian, and search for all possible flavor symmetries. As a result, we find 25 distinct realistic flavor symmetry cases, with ℤ2, ℤ3, ℤ4, and U(1) symmetries, and no non-Abelian cases.
