Present study has offered two theoretical models which may helpful to understand the importance of social proof during internet banking (IB) adoption. The existing technology adoption model such as TAM has ignored the importance of social proof of credibility such as risk, security, and privacy. People are actively involved to take recommendations from close sources, experts, customers, and crowd opinion using social media platforms (SMPs). The purpose to gather information is to save from risk, security, and privacy issues especially when customers must share their personal and financial information during IB. It has found that conventional banks have positive word of mouth, recommendations, and reviews therefore the number of IB customers, profitability, and growth is high compared to Islamic banks. Conversely, SMPs have more negative word of mouth and stories which creates social proof regarding the uncertainty and risk in IB adoption. Findings highlights that people have social trust, confidence, and believe in their close sources and conventional banks.

Abstract This research explores the attractiveness and innovation of shopping tourism in the Gaudí neighbourhood in Barcelona, Spain, along with the potential for augmented reality (AR) experiences, as well as the impact of visitors’ tolerance of technologies. An online survey detected outcomes and offered insights for enrichment similar tourism areas using AR. The findings are positive, demonstrating significant funding for making use of augmented reality initiatives. This investigation confirms the strength of the Technology Adoption Model (TAM) within the framework of innovative use in a touristic neighbourhood. The study, thus, supports the current use and expansion of the TAM hypothesis by focusing on the less studied shopping tourist's context. The outcomes provide recommendations for the design of AR projects for segmented tourism experiences, comprising the importance of making AR tourism experiences more enjoyable, pleasant, and exciting, and this research demonstrates that AR practices can enhance tourists’ perceived value. By examining the data collected from 415 tourists in the Gaudí neighbourhood who were willing to enjoy shopping experiences, the outcomes illustrate a correlation between AR tourism experiences and perceived value. Hence, this validated that AR acceptance enables the connection between tourists’ perceived value of the Gaudí neighbourhood and AR technology's usability.

With the advent of internet and exponentially growing smartphone market, chatbots are becoming popular and are being widely used for interactions in varied fields. This study investigated the usage of chatbots for educational/learning purpose by university students. Wide research has been done exploring usage of chatbots in service industry; still there is vacuum regarding usage of chatbots in education for effective learning. Using path analysis, the study demonstrates validation of two newly added constructs as an extension in Technology Adoption Model and tries to understand the antecedents for intension to adopt chatbots. This study is of utmost importance to researchers, policy makers, system designers for e- learning platforms, teachers, and students in order to make learning effective.

With the popularity of financial technology (fintech) chatbots equipped with artificial intelligence, understanding the user’s response mechanism can help bankers formulate precise marketing strategies, which is a crucial issue in the social science field. Nevertheless, the user’s response mechanism towards financial technology chatbots has been relatively under-investigated. To fill these literature gaps, latent growth curve modeling was adopted by the present research to survey Taiwanese users of fintech chatbots. The present study proposed a customer continuance model to predict continuance intention for fintech chatbots and that cognitive and emotional dimensions positively influence the growth in a user’s attitude toward fintech chatbots, which in turn, positively influences continuance intention over time. In total, 401 customers of fintech chatbots were surveyed through three time points to examine the relationship between these variables over six months. The results support the theoretical model of this research and can advance the literature of fintech chatbots and the information technology adoption model.

The article centers its argument on a lack of a comprehensive model to explain individuals' adoption of m-government services. Features peculiar to m-government due to mobility—mobile technology effect, choice over alternative channels, and service cost burden to citizens—are among the determining factors for service quality, and adoption is not captured in prior models. Consequently, this article proposes a model that extends UTAUT2 and incorporates aspects from other two knowledge domains, technology domestication, and technology use and gratification domain. The proposed model is evaluated for its validity and reliability through data collected using a questionnaire from 396 randomly sampled residents of Dar es Salaam. The study contributes both theoretically and empirically to knowledge regarding technology adoption by incorporating new variables and extending variable definition for a richer and versatile analysis.

In the present study we analyze the farmers’ perception towards adoption of technology such as technology adoption for better productivity in farming. The considered constructs are adopted from Technology adoption model (TAM). A total sample of 165seasonal farmers who grow millets from the Guntur district are considered through simple random technique and out of which survey respondents irregular responses are eliminated finally 150 samples are determined for statistical analysis. Factor analysis was performed to determine the latent factors and their dependent association with intention for adoption was observed with regression analysis. Results are reported and discussions are made as per the results and in correlation between results and previous literature and finally, suggestions and future indication for extension of the study are proposed.

PurposeThe aim is to reveal contemporary research trends and patterns in Internet of Things (IoTs) so that social scientists who are new to the discipline may be steered towards rightful directions when examining this phenomenon.Design/methodology/approachA total of 169 IoT articles indexed in the Web of Science database were analyzed via bibliometric analysis and content analysis. The VOSViewer software was used to identify popular keywords of the IoT topics, its publication productivity, the most relevant journals, and the most prolific authors within. Content analysis was conducted manually to determine the most popular research methods used, the most frequently studied contexts, the most popular IoT application areas, the most highly examined user perspectives, and the most often employed theories.FindingsThe synthesis of both the bibliometric and content analysis results suggest the necessity of investigating the post-adoption technology usage behavior of IoT technology in developing countries, particularly in smart home. This is especially so from new landscapes using other theories or models, apart from the overwhelmed Technology Adoption Model (TAM) and its variants.Originality/valueWith a focus on addressing the state-of-the-art of IoT in social science, and to synthesize its future research directions systematically, this study was conducted with both bibliometric and content analysis, in order to enhance the overall analysis for higher accuracy and more reliable results.
