The paper focuses on the growing role of English in translation and interpreting Studies in Poland and the possible consequences on communication within the Polish academic community in the country and abroad. Since more than two decades, as a rule, English has been used as a means of communication, with a growing number of publications in Polish journals and reviews, PhD theses defended in Polish universities and conferences held exclusively in English. As in other countries, English has become the main discussion subject in translation and interpreting studies. Consequently, a significant number of researchers who have a limited knowledge of English do not belong to the community of English studies scholars or use other languages as their means of communication and subject of research, are excluded from the scientific debate.Using a sociometric methodology, the paper draws a profile of research and researchers based on the output of their writings and research on translation and interpreting in the years 2015‒2019. It covers the evolution, the characterization of the field of research, the evolution of the Polish academic community, and finally, the dissemination of the Polish scholars’ studies. The survey ends with a reflection on possible perspectives for future sociometric analysis of translation and interpreting studies in Poland.

Abstract Immigrant networks are increasingly complex. Today they have become multiethnic and transnational. These networks provide the framework on which immigrants develop their socialization processes and ethnic identification. This new complexity requires the development of new methodologies and concepts for analysis beyond qualitative data and metaphors, to more objective and sociometric data. How to study networks of immigrants in this new complexity? How to identify the processes and dynamics of change? In this paper we propose to use the networks as sociometric analysis tool beyond prevailing hermeneutic uses, and develop new variables for the study of "ethnicity practice" developed by immigrants in transnational space. The survey results are based on two research projects developed with groups of American and African immigrants in Barcelona, Spain, by the Laboratory of Personal Networks and Communities Department of Anthropology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona - UAB. Keywords: ethnicity, transnationalism, networks, immigration.

Since the first version (Cerezo, 2000) has been incorporated situational and emotional aspects of the situation as well as other forms of bullying through mobile or internet. He completed the sociometric analysis assessing the status of each subject (Coie et al., 1990). In this paper we present the results obtained through the Bull-S test version 3.3 on a sample of 810 adolescents belonging to 29 intact groups of students from ESO are presented in this work (51.5% female) aged 11-18 years (Mean = 13.82, SD = 1.4), were investigated for the presence of bullies, victims and aggressors and victims sociometric position of those involved, as well as situational aspects. The level of incidence was 11% (4.8 aggressors and 6.2 victims). The results indicate that most places are indicated as scenarios classroom space, followed by the patio. The most common forms are verbal aggression and exclusion, and the most frequently observed is 1-2 times a week. Most are in average level of status and those who are involved in bullying are considered worse than non-involved and, in general, victims are most excluded. The revised questionnaire was confirmed as a reliable instrument (Cronbach’s alpha = .792 Aggressor, Victim = .841) valid for the assessment of bullying with a clear purpose and preventive application. Keywords: School violence, bullying, questionnaires, sociometric assessment status.
